There’s a old joke about the previous “woodies” But it fits perfectly for this one. The man’s new car was delivered to the house where him and some friends were. After admiring the new car his friends left. The next time they saw the car all the wood had been taken off the car. One of his friends said. “ You know that’s still a nice car. What a nice car that is. My parents had a hand me down '84 Electra from my grandparents that I put a lot of miles on as a kid. About the same as this from the B-post forward. It was very comfortable to cruise in.
While this car was not the same make or model wagon my mother had when I was a child, it does bring back a lot of memories of the many miles we travelled in that car across California to Arizona and back from '77 to '78, and the many more miles we used it on daily excursions when we were not travelling. She had that car from '76 to '80... boy, did she put a lot of miles on that wagon.
My parents had 2 of these when I was kid up until the early 2000's. I remember playing gameboy in the backseat and singing along to music with the whole family
I'd take it in a heartbeat if I could convince my wife to want it as well. Only change I'd make are the headlights, and eventually fix the flaw in the woodgrain on the back. I'd make it my everyday driver and use it until I wear it out, then sell it to someone enthusiastic about restoring it. Nice car! Best wishes to whoever ends up with it.👍
@@mehmeh5471 Why? Because of the headlights, or the woodgrain issue? I'd rather be seen in that car than some ugly new gutless SUV. It's my wife who thinks she's gotta be in something new and trendy. It is a beautiful car and I always liked them. My last few cars were E-Class Mercedes estates as I live in the UK, but they are probably the closest you can get to these big American wagons. What a pleasing mixture of luxury, comfort and practicality!
This generation of GM wagons are beautiful. The Electra Estate is definitely the best of the bunch. I grew up in a mid 80s Century Estate wagon. I now have a Regal TourX wagon. Tried to keep the Buick wagon heritage going. Wanted to give my children That Buick wagon experience...
My Grandmother’s co worker a long time ago had the ford version of this car. It was a wood grain package LTD Crown Vic Wagon. It was an 87. And I remember a neighbor living next to me when I was a little boy who had an Electra Wagon that looked just like this one here. Blue cloth interior
This makes me miss my 1983 Olds Ninety-Eight Regency Brougham sedan, medium blue metallic on blue velour inside. I bought it in 1990 when the car was 6 years old. It had both driver and passenger vanity mirrors. It had the cornering lamps and the hood mounted fiber optic indicators. It had an oversized moon roof, mirrored on the outside for one-way glass. Full power electric seats both driver and passenger. Tilt and telescopic steering column. Lighters in both rear door ash trays. Fluorescent full height opera lights on the door columns outside. The car was loaded to the gills. After a year and a half owning it, it was stolen. Broke my heart. Never saw it again. Anthony, this wagon, all be it not a sedan, is beautiful! I love how it can actually haul full sheets of plywood, drywall, etc. If needed. I would not want to subject such a jewel as this to such rigorous service, but it does show the versatility this car had in the day.
I had an 89 that I bought from the original owner. Same color but w/o the woodgrain. Maroon interior too. It was a sharp car. I regret getting rid of it. I've owned over 100 cars of all types. I honestly can say that my Electra Estate Wagon probably got the most compliments of any car I've owned. Although the 307 was a bit anemic the car was equipped with trailer tow package & most interesting was it had a factory rear sway bar. I personally have never seen another wagon with a rear sway bar.
I used to patch the laminate behind the rear doors on my old man's '85 Caprice Estate which furniture laminate from shelving. 20 years ago you couldn't sell these, no one wanted them. People at swap meets laughed at me when I asked about wheels. The wagons had wider wheels than the sedans. The rear passenger wheel wells always rusted on these by the bottom seat cushion.
car was probably driven for only 10 years and stored in a garage for 20+ years. styling was considered old for 1989. our 87 mercury sable wagon was so modern compared to this. upper middle age korean war verterans bought these vehicles.

I learned to drive on an 82 Lesabre. 307 a little wonky in 82 with all the vacuum hoses and stuff but I bet they had that worked out by 89. Pretty car.
I have 2011 Crown Vic Police Interceptor SAP. SAP just means it has chrome trim/grill instead of black. They are sort of rare. The car is in great shape overall. A few minor scratches. I wanna put wood wrap on it to cover up the imperfections similar to this car. Maybe do some pin striping to blend it in. It beats paying for a paint job.
Hated those things back in the 90s. They could be had for pocket change back then and I wouldn't have been caught dead in one. Now in 2022 I'd love to take a ride in one!
If I had the money, I would get this car right now!! They just don't make vehicles like this anymore. Looking at this video brings back a lot of good memories.
It made me think of Dax Shepard's 1994 Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon 700 hp! Anyway this Electra wagon would be so pretty in a candy apple metallic burgundy paint job to go with the interior! Re-decal the wood grain in the same burled wood grain as the interior pattern!
I love the car it is beautiful and the interior is nice and in awesome shape. The only thing I didn't like about those cars was that 307 engine so weak on to take off. I'd pull that engine and drop a 350 olds in there and run a quiet dual exhaust system and the power would be right on point with that transmission. I did that with a Chevy Caprice wagon which had a 307 olds engine in that wagon also. All of the front engine mounts bolted right up. Had to change nothing. The exhaust manifold pipe was larger, so you have to order exhaust system for a 78 or 79 model that came with the 350 and 403 engines
I did this with my 1989 Caprice Estate... pulled the weak and wheezy Olds 307 and replaced with a 'built' 403 equipped with 350 heads. Now it MOVES... and sounds great with dual exhaust.
@@LakeNipissing wow, i bet i was a nice sleeper. And if you paint that 403 black like the 307 and put "OK" on the valve cover like the factory did with all 307s ig would leave everybody scratching their heads about that car. LOL

It's worth $5995 all day, considering the garbage being offered nowadays online. A new blumpy - looks - like - everything - else car would cost 10X as much. I'd love to be able to fly in and drive that beauty to the west coast on an adventure and ship it to Hawaii where there is nothing like that on the road here. A fine car indeed! Gorgeous!
@Dominick Serignese Hiya Dom... Yeah, those 307 were doggy... But they'd run forever! I had a new '90 Estate Wagon that I toured in, playing music around the US and Canada.. I was on a dirt n gravel road somewhere in Missouri, after a gig... Heading toward Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I apparently threw a big, pointy rock up and it poked a small hole in the oil pan. When I finally got to Eureka Springs, the next day I was going to get a scheduled oil change... I was surprised to find that the pan was BONE DRY! I have no idea how long I ran that car without any oil in it, and it never sounded like it was out of oil. But I guess because it was a "roller motor", and presumably a well-built one, it saved me a real headache. Cheers!

Had a 82 Buick Electra when I was 18. That car was an absolute dog. Couldn't get out of it's own way but was so comfortable.
Amazing! The plastic carpet protection looks like it just came from the factory!
Hated those things back in the 90s. They could be had for pocket change back then and I wouldn't have been caught dead in one. Now in 2022 I'd love to take a ride in one!
This 'As-is' as you say is still mint condition. I hope it finds a good home
I absolutely love these gorgeous old American beasts. Sadly, you just don't find them in Australia.
👌 Wow this is the exact 💯 Wagon my dad had. I passed my driver's test in this car. Memories
@Anthony Gozzo The movie Adventures In Babysitting is the reason why I love these Electra Estate Wagon's today. Great movie and awesome car!
Hey Anthony that's a cool wagon love it I had a 78 Caprice estate and I love that car I traded it for a Buick Riviera! LOL
When i was 10 my Dad bought a new 1982 buick electra wagon with red seats. The back seat folded up and you would sit facing the back window.
I'd love to cruise around America on a road trip Vacation style like Chevy Chase in that thing. Throw some suit cases on the top and send it!
My dad had a Buick Estate wagon, but the GM Corporate SBC engine often had problems.
Adventures in Baby Sitting (1987, classic 80’s move and sweet ride.
LOL
Great car Anthony! If you had an 89 Colony Park same condition/price, I’d drive down from Maine tomorrow!! :)
My friend has an original 1987 Buick Grand national love that car its appraised at 80,000.00 mint condition all original no winters
Nice, my family had 2, 1980 Diseal, and then a 1984 gas powered one. Good memories 😀
The Wrigley family from the Nickelodeon show The Adventures of Pete & Pete had a mid 1980's Caprice wagon. It would featured prominently in the King of the Road episode when it went up against another family who had a similar Buick Estate wagon.
Can't believe they were still building this in 1989. Similar wagons were being made 10 years prior.
Gorgeous!
My dad had an '89 Fleetwood rear-wheel drive with the Oldsmobile 307. It was a beautiful car but that Oldsmobile 307 was a dog!
@Dominick Serignese
Hiya Dom...
Cheers!

I also owned a 1982 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham all original paint no rust no winters sold it for 12gs recently
I like these older wagons and the road master wagon
1 lovely automobile it brings back the old days
This is Fantastic love to find a 1975-78 Ford Wagon , be willing to Let my 1989 Lincoln Town car Signature series for one
I want my '89. Crown Vic. Wagon back.
It was a great car even though it ate radiators
starters and transmissions and alternators
I'm really interested
Nice video…nice car. I have a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Brougham. It has about 140,000 miles on it. I need to put a new motor in. It’s been sitting in my garage for about 4 years. I’m 72 and have no time nor ambition to work in it…
This would make an awesome gypsy cab and/or tiny home.
Hey Anthony, Oh does this car bring back memories. My father always owned a wagon. The first one I remember was a 1955 Pontiac. This is a beautiful wagon. I hope it goes to a really good home and they enjoy it....
The Stationwagon.....Hey SUV's remember me? I'm your grandpa and i haven't been out of the house for awhile
