A great series, good tip to fit the front sight too thanks! It’s good you got good service from Marbles. I needed a Marbles Sight for my 92 recently. Brownell’s UK didn’t have any in stock. I emailed Marbles to order direct and got a curt, sniffy ‘NO.’
My club, Peveril Rifle Club, Isle of Man, shoots at 25m and 50m only. I have the Rossi 92 same as yours only the blued version. I'm really considering changing to the Marbles tang sight as my ageing eyes don't let me shoot too well with the semi-buckhorn sights that it came fitted with. But I[m a little confused as to what to order. Can you possible list the items ( parts numbers ) you mounted to your rifle. Your three videos are excellent. Clear, concise, and extremely explanatory. Well done. Wish there were more like it. Many thanks for your efforts.
I have a blued, 24" octagonal barreled .357 Mag R92 with the same tang sight. Love it. Mine has the stock front bead which I've found wholly adequate. Of course, mine has a longer sight radius... I have a vid on my channel showing mine. Thanks for the review. I like that globe sight... that would be great for target shooting.
Your three videos are interesting and very educational. I was considering the same Marbles sight on my Rossi 92 but didn't like the idea of having an altered hand position on the stock. So I have opted for a Skinner ladder sight. My Rossi seems to be a bit unusual in that it has an end cap on the fore-end which you see on the 24" barrelled versions but not on my 20" octagonal barrel model. Of course it's impossible to find out the year of make, even the proof marks can't put it within anything other than a 10 year block of serial numbers. Let us all know how you get on with you sights.
I have been using this sight now for 6 months and i am not disappointed,it is not as robust as a scope and you do need to be a little gentle with it but i like it and would not swap it for a scope.I have won a competition using it where others have scopes on and also have a 2nd and 3rd place in other comps too.
Very nice rifle, I have a Rossi model 65 1892 45 colt with a skinner sight. I would like to go with a marble sight but I think some gun smithing would be required. Thanks for sharing
Good God man. Im glad you said it was 25 yards deep into the video. I have been shooting at 50 yards. And getting 2-3" groups. I was hoping to have 3" groups at 100 yards. but your target. I was like if thats at 100 yards with all those bulls. i will never hit that. lol
I am about to mount a Lyman. tang sight on my Henry .22. Bit of a hassle...have to -redrill and re-tap the factory tang screw hole under the lever. I am certain that skill, cunning, and daring can do it. My grand father had a tang sight on his Win94, .32 Win Spec. I can’t afford that ammo for plinking. I note you changed out the front with a Lyman...what height Lyman did you use?
Hi ,the sight I used was .584 high which is approx 1.4 cm. It actually says .584 on the front of the pack, it works fine for me at the distances you would expect to shoot a 357, cheers.
Have you measured your sight radius? Do you feel like you give up any accuracy to the lever actions with the 24" or 26" with longer sight radius? When you compete in UK are you competing with pistol caliber lever actions or wider range? We have a very wide range of competition from cowboy fast shooting pistol cartridges to long range out to 800 to 1000 yards those are mostly 45-70 or 38-55. I'm thinking I want to try the long range with the 38-55 also great for hunting. Thanks
Hi Mate, I finally got the Lyman front sight and have drifted into place. How did you line up the tang sight with the Lyman front sight? Is there any reference points you can pass on to me before I go to the range to sight it in. Cheers, Tom.
Hi Tom,all I did was centre the front sight with the barrel by sight and then centred the rear sight by counting the number of clicks available and positioning it by half the clicks----hope that makes sense---- and then I went to the range, i first put a shot into a target at 20yds to see where it was and went from there, hope that helps, let me know how you get on, cheers Tom and have a good shoot.
Hi,no i didn't have to drill any holes, this model came pre drilled, the only thing i had to do was find a longer screw, the screw hole up by the hammer is pre drilled to the right thread but they only put in a short grub screw to protect the threads,so in short if you buy this model it should come pre drilled (check) and the Marble arms sight drops straight in,the only thing you need to do is find a longer screw, cheers.
My Rossi Rifle I bought a Rossi m92 with the octagonal 24 inch barrel in stainless steel and you're right, there is a smaller screw towards the hammer. It looks like it's in the perfect place for the other end of the sight base that you installed on your rifle. I hadn't noticed it before you mentioned it. Thanks for the information.
@@myrossirifle Ok cool. Is there any indication where you're at or do you just have to remember how many clicks? I like the vernier so you can see where you are at.
@@brianlee6849 you just have to remember what distance your at but it is positive clicks, I put a little yellow paint mark on mine once zeroed, cheers.
@@treywall3683 Thank you. Looks like a good hunting sight where you are only going a few clicks up from zero when necessary. I never try to shoot over 200 yards and I usually zero 100. Appreciate it 👍

I'm definitely indebted for your patience, time and experience

nice shots
keep your thumb next to your index finger NOT hooked over the stock, it's also faster to work the lever as well

If you used the factory front sight would you have to removed the old rear sight?
Another good little vid, can i ask what homeload do you use for the rossi?

Just put one of these on my rifle. It screwed right in with no drilling required.
Did you have to drill a second hole, up by the hammer, to secure the other end of the sight base?

By the way I wouldn't be shooting beyond a hundred yards with a 357 though.
