Director James Cameron was inspired to make this film from a fever dream, two episodes of the 60's sci-fi series The Outer Limits and John Carpenter's Halloween. Arnold Schwarzenegger preceded this with Hercules in New York, The Villain, Stay Hungry, Pumping Iron, Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer. Besides Terminator 2, this was followed by a 3D Theme park attraction, a short lived TV series, four more movies, comics, graphic novels and videogames, some of which crossover with the Robocop franchise. Arnold Schwarzenegger followed this up with Commando, Red Sonja, Raw Deal, Predator, The Running Man, Red Heat, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Total Recall, Terminator 2, Last Action Hero, True Lies and Eraser. Arnold was a seven time winner of the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding title and successful businessman. Kyle Reese, played by Michael Biehn, uses a 12 gauge pump action shotgun, while the Terminator uses a 45 caliber pistol, 12 gauge semiautomatic shotgun and 5.56mm automatic rifle

25:55...I laughed my head, ass and spine in to pieces. That is so true and one of the funniest things I have heard anyone reacting this movie. Spot on. Greetings from Finland.
Kyle Reese might be my favorite character of the franchise. As a kid I imagined being him fighting robots in the future. And such self sacrifice as well. The relationship with Sara remains iconic. Fun fact: Lance Herickson who played the cyborg Bishop in Aliens and plays the cop here was the original choice for the Terminator. Maybe Cameron really wanted him to play a Cyborg so bad he used him in Aliens. lol I don't know why he eventualy picked Arnold instead. I think there was a debate with someone else and Cameron agreed that Arnold was the better choice in the end.
Thing was Arnold wasn't Cameron choice. In fact he wasn't considered by him at all. It was the executives who wanted Arnold cos they felt he could bring star power. But they wanted Arnold to play Kyle Reese, which Cameron shut down. But eventually, agreeded as he didn't have any pull. Arnold himself wasn't that convinced to play Reese, and related to the Terminator more. When they were going to meet, Cameron had the idea of picking up a fight with Arnold so that he can tell the executives that Arnold was too difficult. However, when they spoke, Arnold spoke more about the terminator character which in turn convinced Cameron he could be the perfect choice. There is the story too that Arnold wasn't convinced with the movie at all. And that he was worried it might kill his career until he watched a rough edit and realised how good it was.
Also, Hannah is so much smarter than Ash. She predicted not of the movie and, slightly, part 3 when she wondered if the Terminator would 'relate' to other machines
Фильм поистине достоин звания легенда. Снят за копейки, а получился поистине легендарным. С отличным сюжетом и отличным актёрским составом. A lot of the actors from terminator went to star in Aliens. Lance Henrikson who was one of the detectives in Terminator played Bishop in Aliens. Bill Paxton who was one of the three thugs at the beginning went on to play Hudson and Micheal Biehn went to play Hicks. Terminator was also Directed by James Cameron and produced by Gale Anne Hurd and this couple did Aliens as well which was handy as they were husband and wife. Great movie reaction and cannot wait for you to react to T2.
Kyle Reese always wondered what Sarah Conner was thinking at the moment photo was taken, and if you pay attention, she was thinking of him. This Part really got me when I realized it.

Legendary Platform for Arnold and Followed up by Part2 Which was a MasterPiece! Honestly 1 and 2 is All You Need
I think "I'll be back" may be the most iconic line in film history.
I was 16 years old when Terminator 2 came out and it is still one of my favorite movies ever. That experience of watching it in theaters was so amazing. I CAN'T WAIT!!! This reaction is going to be so good.
I love that last scare when the legless terminator comes out and starts crawling for Sarah lol....everyone screams lol
As a person from the US, allow me to STEAL a British expression: That reaction was a BANGER! :)
Bangers and Ash.
Yeah, BANG out of order mate!
@@JonCombo omg that is a great channel name no? 😂
Hahaha love it mate, proper legend ❤️
@@justtrustash Symbolism for sure.
The channel name is "Just Trust Ash" im definitely here for Hannah roasting Ash after he says some dumbass shit lol thanks guys love ya
James Cameron uses many times the same actors
@@deg6788 And his wives....
Those posters in the back are AMAZING.
Ash mate, your Scottish Arnie impression was something else. What a talent you are
7:34 Most homeless people (especially men) don't like homeless shelters. A homeless shelter only solves the problem for one night.
Again I am totally impressed by Hannah. She is smart as a whip. I'm looking forward to Terminator 2.
Terminator is the better film, but T2 is an action film classic.
I love you Ash, Hannah. Absolutely loved your reactions and commentary afterwards. You makes my life that much brighter. ❤️❤️
Love you David! Proper legend mate, thank you for this beautiful comment ❤️
"I'll be back"
In my opinion it's the most famous line ever 🤷♂️
Terminator 2 is definitely the greatest sequel of all time. i can't wait for you guys to react to it
PREACHHHHH!!
It's hilarious. It's action-packed. It's thoughtful. It's scary. It's emotional.
I love the characters.
Top tier movie... fer sher.
Kyle Reese always wondered what Sarah Conner was thinking at the moment photo was taken, and if you pay attention, she was thinking of him. This Part really got me when I realized it.
How many people have never seen mashed potatoes scooped with an ice cream scoop? Ash is by no means the only reactor who has made the mistake of thinking that kid put ice cream in Sarah’s pocket.
I think because that's not a common thing anymore in restaurants. I haven't seen any like this since high school, 32 years ago.
Oh my god, I always thought it's ice cream...
mash potatoes are not so common in other countries apparently, I never ate them.
in a scoop i meant
Are you shitting me....that's not ice-cream 🤯
Mind blown 👍
Well I suppose mash isn't as bad. That said I'd still clip the little shit around the ear!
Edit:
Actually I retract my comment. Paused it and it's defo ice-cream.
Knew I was right all these years 🎉🎉🎊🎊
Edit:
Definitely smash the kid in the face.
33:33 I laughed so loud guys 😂😂!! That wig almost slipped 🤣🤣
Really excited to see you guys watch the 2nd one! T1 is ok in my book but T2 is spectacular in everyway!

Just discovered your channel and I realy like you guys. I love your exchanges, your humor, I love Anna's insight. I watched a few other reactions of you and boy, I'm impressed by the number of times Anna figured out things in advance.
Can't wait to see your reaction to T2, the best action movie ever made

Mans said "Back to the Future", "Terminator", and "George of the Jungle" in the same sentence
You guys are a blast, been bingwatching your reaction videos!
Appreciate it you legend ❤️
Hannah you are a treasure and Ash you lucked out with her... You two are a barrel of laughs.
The Girlfriends Reaction to This Movie was the Best (Also ash Looks Like “Charles Manson” with that hair and beard)
OMG!!! I'M FREAKING DYING RIGHT NOW!! I JUST STARTED WATCHING AND ASH'S EXCITEMENT IS HILARIOUS!!! I'M GETTING A SIDE STITCH I'M LAUGHING SO HARD!!!

@@justtrustash ASH I'M REALLY ANXIOUS TO SEE YOU GUYS REACT TO THE NEW MOVIE PREY!!! IF YOU THINK RIPLEY AND SARAH CONNOR ARE BADASS WOMEN CHARACTERS WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE NARU IN PREY!!!
i love ash's arnold sound scottish
I'm 35 and I STILL have nightmares about the Terminator. One of the scariest ideas ever conceived. And, jsyk Ash, I know you were kidding, but women should only lean into the idea of being with their captor as a ruse if they think it will save their life. It's never like "oh look at this hot man kidnapping me!" And as always, Hannah, you are a queen.
"Sega Genesis Vibes"
Symbolisms mate 🤜🏽 🤛
I like your reaction! I really like all your reactions i've seen, they are always a lot of fun! My fav are your Alien, Aliens and Predator reactions. I'm looking forward for your T2 reaction! And i'm a new subscriber.
Greetings to you 2 from Vienna!
My brother from Vienna!! Glad to have you on our channel mate ❤️
@@justtrustash Thanks! Arnold was born ~50 km away from my home, i was always a big fan from him. I've seen this movie T1 when i was so 11 years old and it scared me so much! Specially 2 scenes, 1st when the T stand up in the fire and 2nd after the T was blown up and when his upper half try to get Sarah after Reese died. (sorry for my bad english)
“give him some milk”
this killed me
Not only is Bishop in this movie but Kyle Reese is also Hicks from Aliens !!
Hudson is too, and the alien bounty hunter from The X Files is also. Mr Olympia Franco Columbo is the Terminator in the future.
@@ju6340 true true, I just can’t Believe at least Ash hasn’t noticed yet
You mean Bishop?
@@YeeLeeHaw Yerp !!
Considering that Reese had to infiltrate the Machine base and probably jumped into the time machine while under fire, it's not surprising that he didn't land in a super hero pose.
OJ Simpson was considered to play the role of The Terminator, but James Cameron changed his mind saying, "He's too much of a nice guy to play the role of a ruthless killer."😳🤦
Tom Selleck Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson and Lance Henriksen were considered as well.
Sting, Treat Williams, Christopher Reeve, Scott Glenn, Michael O'Keefe, Tommy Lee Jones, Kurt Russell, Bruce Springsteen, and Matt Dillon were considered for Kyle Reese.
Lea Thompson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jessica Harper, Melissa Sue Anderson, Rosanna Arquette, and Lisa Langolis were considered for Sarah Connor.
It’s crazy how smart Hannah is she literally always guesses everything right
I’m with you Hannah I’ve never seen any of these movies until seeing your reactions!
Well, then it's about time isn't it :)
Omg mate T2 will be one of your faiv movies..let me know your thoughts on it when you check it out ❤️
You guys look so fun, really brings be back with the outfits.
Cheers you legend ❤️
ARNIE SPOKE 58 WORDS IN THIS ENTIRE FILM AND IT WAS EPIC.
Hannah’s increasing discomfort with ash’s solo jam 😂
Nice! Just finished watching your "300" movie reaction 👍 Can't wait to see this one & T2: Judgement Day. Hope you & your fam get to watch it on the big screen some day. Keep up the great work.
#JamesCameron 👌🎥 🎬 🎞
Best place to watch these on the big screen is the Prince Charles cinema in London - I’ve done arnie all-night marathons there
Ash
I watched one of Johnny Carson's late shows in the states where Arnold doing his press junket to promote The Terminator. During filming, it was done at night in Los Angles. Arnold is well-known for his pranking. He told a story to Johnny about one night of filming. Prior to heading to set for that night's filming, Arnold stopped by a local restaurant to pick up an order on the go, Arnold had special makeup prosthetics like rotting flesh and metal on his face. Arnold walked in to pick his order. He freaked out the clerk, and customers ran out of the restaurant.......very funny!
"The Terminator": The Hero's Journey of Sarah Connor, assisted by Tech Sgt. Kyle Reese.
Did you see what Kyle did when he saw the dog ..... he let it sniff his hand because its what they do in the future to prove they're not a terminator and even now in the past he still does it out of habit. SYMBOLISMS !!!
