[ObsSojourn POV] What 500+ HOURS of Overwatch Observing looks like | OWL 2022 Edition

- This is a video of my personal favorite observing moments from the 2022 OWL season. It also pairs as my observer reel!
I REALLY started to come into my element during that season despite my imposter syndrome that sat with me for all of 2021. I learned, I grew, and I had an amazing team around me to help me and push me to be better.

This is ~500 hours of IN MATCH experience. Doesn’t count the hours of scrim practice, flight practice, replay practice and VOD review. Probably somewhere around ~1000hrs including those things (by the end of 2022)
At some point I will count my hours by the end of 2024
Love your work
Thank you ☺️
2:17 Goodness me that insane prediction Mei wall. Years of consuming OWL content and I somehow never saw that ever.
Yeah that is absolutely one of my favorite moments from Backbone.
So many moments of guiding the casters and propping up player careers.
Most of the time this work goes unnoticed, so it's great to see it highlighted.
Our job is definitely to show the casters what they are supposed to be looking at, but we often play off of caster narratives too! It's a relationship without words.
Shes cracked out of her mind on the observing dude, always knows exactly who to be on and when
You flatter me 🥹
It's mind-blowing how anyone manages to catch these moments with perfect timing
Cool
I get excited the first, second, or any number of times I see them

Great work as always 🙏🏻
Thank you ❤
Great video, a bit sad seeing what this game could be and what we have, hopefully season 13 with 6v6 might restore the game´s magic a bit.
You're talking nonsense, notice how every ow2 clips were far more entertaining than the 6v6 clips
6v6 advocates didn't play seasons of hog and ball / double shield, the worst state the games been in
@@gregross2532 Im not saying 6v6 is better genius, Im just saying the game is shit right now, and 6v6 might make the game fun for a while, like season 9 did, also a lot of people would argue that the game is worse now than it was before with goats, at least for dps players.
@@gregross2532they were with the old hp
@@marcosdias9440 Game isn't shit now lol
@@gregross2532no, ow 2 clips are NOT more entertaining than ow 1 lol
So this is a montage of observing the most obvious player while they make a play?
@@DevinDTV much more than that. Being on the right person at the right time. Communicating with teammates who also have things going on on their screen. “Selling the shot” to the director so they will take your feed. Communicating positioning, anticipating, and predicting what will happen next.
For example one of the clips towards the end we see Heesu EMP and then I switch to Finale pulse bomb. That swap was made partially on instinct but also because that team in particular had combo’d emp with pulse several times before. So it’s part recognizing the positioning and part having a deeper understanding of the team.
A lot of great moments caught in Overwatch Observing comes down to communication, which unfortunately is not depicted in this video. What is, is the great moments we catch by being on the right hero, at the right time, and executing clear communication (almost like a player would to their team)
Also, things like sneaky players can easily be missed. As they are usually off the immediate screen in front of us. Again, communication, using my resources, and calling for it to be shown is the skill.
