    I've been alternating between the Filth and the Hudef Gen 2 Viva Pro....they both out perform my Legacy Pro, which I fell in love with when I first used it. I'd rather save the money (especially in the case of Hudef) than play with the "popular" brands. I will say the Filth price is on par with Legacy, but I think I get a little more bang for the buck with the Filth. Of course, paddle preference is so subjective, what works great for one, is a total turd for another.

    Hi guys, I have been playing the Joola Hyperion 16mm for almost 2 years now and absolutely love it. I have been looking for a while and haven't found a paddle that would tempt me away from the Hyperion until I came across the Joola Hyperion C2 16mm yesterday. I'm not sure when this paddle came out, but I feel like they really didn't advertise it and I'm wondering why. It sounds like the perfect upgrade for me. A video I watched yesterday said that if the Hyperion and the Perseus had a baby, this would be the result. Everywhere I looked, it was out of stock, so I ended up paying full price from Amazon yesterday. I'm not really concerned about the money, but I'm wondering if I am buying at the worst time possible knowing that BIG things are coming from Joola in the near future. Just looking for your thoughts since I can return the paddle if needed. With the money that I have allotted for my new paddle, I can pretty much get anything out there and would like to make the most informed decision possible. That being said, I'm excited to get this paddle as long as I'm not missing something (it pretty much only had great reviews). Thanks in advance for your time.

    Regarding paddles made with carbon fiber titanium faces, we actually tested a 7.8 ounce, 16mm thick, elongated, thermoformed paddle using that type of face.
    We were disappointed.
    That combo actually seemed to dampen any pop or power from the paddle, which may be good for some players, but it wasn't what we were looking for in a paddle. It felt somewhat dead.
    The material looks cool but doesn't seem to offer any advantage over the carbon faced paddles we manufacture.

    The Kevlar thing is different. It’s not about who can get the fastest speed it’s more about the feel. Tennis analogy some like softer strings or less tension. It’s a feel thing. Crisp and pop isn’t for everyone nor is the rubbery bounce of the gearbox. I have both DBD and Ruby but I think pretty different feel. Ruby to me is more forgiving - maybe more power from baseline but less pop at the kitchen in a hands battle.

    I played a lot of tennis in my past but more ping pong as far as racquet sports go. Started playing pickle ball in 2016 when I retired and injuries keep me from tennis. I’m a gear head and often own 3 sets of golf clubs. Just throwing that out for reference to my passion for sports equipment. To say I’ve owned many many pickle ball paddles would be a fantastic understatement. I have owned in this pickle ball journey both the Joola 14 and 16 radius paddles. Good not great. My current gamer is. CRBN 2x with a Gruvn Muvn 13 mill as my back up. Lots of the big names are a tad over rated imo.
    From my golf perspective I’d say that a golf driver is probably relevant for up to 5 years as far as technological innovation is concerned and former NASA engineers are designing golf equipment. Pickle Ball ain’t golf so I wouldn’t be rushing out to trade in a paddle that you’re currently enjoying.

    It sounds like the Paul manufacturers are ready to ruin the game and make paddle so powerful that playing in the kitchen will be hard for a lot of people. A former tennis and racquetball player and I would have no trouble controlling a superpower paddle like the gearbox I just choose not to use it. I play Forza two against people who try to hit the crap out of the ball and I can control their serves and send it back deep I can control their smashes, but there’s a lot of people who couldn’t do that and on top of that I don’t usually face someone who could serve like me I face the 50 player are the huge serve. I had it hell of a time getting them back deep I did it, but I felt like I was using every available reflex. I had to pull it off, and if the panels were even more powerful changes the game into a mini tennis game. Please don’t let this happen. They’ve got a limit to how much power they gonna have it ruined racquetball when the ball went from 120 miles an hour to 160 miles an hour and guys were cracking outbecause they hit them so hard and so low that they get eight points in a row just on this serve you couldn’t return it. I don’t wanna see that happen Pickleball.

    6.0 Ruby Infinity 🤔

    Not sure why Ruby is so hard to keep in stock, but I think Six Zero is losing potential buyers who are just moving on to another paddle. When the DBD came out, there were shortages, but Six Zero was able to meet all the demand in fairly short order (6-8 week wait). I tried to get a Ruby, but can't even put in a reservation for one, so at this point I am going to see what new paddles come out over the next month or so at other companies.

      It’s popular, loads of NZ and AU players have the Ruby, hard not to find someone with one… When I first started barely saw anyone with a DBD here in NZ. So basically more demand than the DBD even though it was popular. It’s so pretty and plays awesome, it’s hard not to recommend. So then more people want one. Vicious cycle 😂

      Kinda hard to lose potential buyers when every release of the Ruby is sold out. It’s pretty in demand. Some may move one but others will get FOMO and wait for the next release.

    • @jeffreydardick4624
      @jeffreydardick4624 4 месяца назад

      How would you know if they lose buyers since every release is sold out? If each release was 10,000 paddles, I might agree, but it's not, so they are clearly not meeting consumer demand.

    • @jeffreydardick4624
      @jeffreydardick4624 4 месяца назад

      Not sure Ruby demand is any higher than the original DBD, but I am sure that Six Zero has produced about 8 new paddles (edgeless, etc.) since the original DBD, and are always working on new ones. Thus, their ability to manufacture each paddle is more limited now than when they only had 3 paddles. @@kravitz88
