      Took me 2 hours, it's not an easy fix because the screws are hard to get off, but it's also low risk and not complex. Just needs some patience!

    How in the world does anyone get those top screws back in? I can’t contort my body to fit down there. Getting them out was incredibly difficult. I’ve lost one down in the dash somewhere. Dropped it trying to start one blindly. It’s sooooo difficult to get to those top ones. I don’t see how anyone does it.
    You the man if you got that out back together!

      Yeah, I actually dropped a screw down there too. I used a strong magnetic screwdriver to help hang on to the screws when I missed. Had to feel around blindly a few times to get it started. Definitely tight and difficult but it is doable.

      I posted this in another comment below but this is how i did the screws--- went back in pretty easy..--- I just finished replacing mine-- a few things helped with the screws--- First-- I used a short phillips head screw driver to reinstall the screws (you don't have to use a socket)-- to keep the screw on the head of the driver I used some electrical tape and taped the screw firmly onto the screw driver (wrap tape so it is just barely grabbing the head of the screw but wrap it tight)-- this will keep the screw on the screw driver while you find the hole, after you drive the screw you just have to wiggle it and pull to get it off the tape... Second, get small mirror so you can get oriented to where the screws holes are-- i could not hold it as I was driving but I got a close idea of where the holes were and it only took about a minute or so to get them started--- I actually found it easier to install the screws this way then it was to remove them with the wratchet-- It is probably a good idea to not use the wratchet to tighten as it would be pretty easy to strip out the holes that are just being driven into plastic--if you do use a wratchet be very careful to not over tighten

    How do you make sure the plastic wheel aligns correctly with all the door pins when you put it back?

      Good question… if I remember correctly I think I did have to adjust that a few times to get it aligned properly. I’m pretty sure I was able to hold it in place and test it with the car on. It might be easier to have someone help test the modes while you hold it in place and adjust it though.

      @@jeffro1200 thank you! But omg how do you get to those top two screws? Going to answer my own question here for others: There is too much other stuff in the way to do it with eyes and hands. The only way I could do it was to reach up with my left hand, blind, and do it by feel. Putting it back there are two plastic pins to help guide it in, and then you use those by feel to start the screws, then the fun part is getting your socket onto a screw started by hand, with one hand, without looking, and without knocking the screw out. Obviously (or not) get the cam wheel alignment right before putting the screws in. A helper to push the buttons is necessary for that.

    Did this fix your issue completely?

    • @jeffro1200
      @jeffro1200  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, it did. If just the mode dial is not working but everything else is, then this is most likely the issue.
