Safe Travels with Christ Not really. One of the biggest sticking points keeping people from buying it is how unlike a truck it looks. It’s compared to the Pilot or the Odyssey with a truck bed on it.They need to totally redesign the front end on it if they want to capture more of the “truck” crowd.
Brian Maybe catching the anti-truck crowd is not a bad idea? Seems to be no one in this slot...LOL! You have to drive the RIDGELINE to really appreciate it and the fact that it’s not like other trucks is a plus. It’s a dream to drive... I’m still impressed after 3 years. Maybe it’s for “girls’’ but I mostly see men driving them. The truck bed it unique with its hidden locked compartment and tail that opens both ways. I suppose if you want a “real” truck you’d choose the F150, or similar. I’m dwarfed next to them and prefer the smaller Ridgeline.
For real. Im going to test drive one tomorrow. If it drives as good as it does sitting in it.. I might splurge and purchase it. Im not in need of a huge hauling truck. Just a comfy ride that can do dump runs, road trips, minor camping trips. Nothing too extreme.
One of the best videos I've seen on a vehicle! I went to test drive this car and the salesman didn't even know where the blind spot monitoring was. I pointed it out to him... Wish you were in NY so I could come to you
Best and most thorough presentation on the Ridgeline out there, Great Job. I especially appreciate the fact that you do not "Act" for the camera like so many you tubers do, they just think they are so cute. Your presentation is quick, well-articulated, and includes the most detail of all the "secret" things you can do in a Ridgeline. Really good job keep up the professional, straightforward, and honest way you describe the cars you show. It is a breath of fresh air.
Traded my 2017 TRD PRO Tundra several weeks ago and it was the best decision. Absolutely love the Ridgeline and it's all the truck I need. I was hesitant going from full si,e to mid but once I test drove it realized the comfort and interior is great.
@@squidusn71 I would say respect from other 'real truck' owners but it doesn't matter, the ridgeline is all most people need and it's way more comfortable than the body on frame trucks.
@@scottfurlong5475 i don't get your point about the respect part. Did you have a Tundra before owning a RL, if so, what do you miss about the Tundra. What year and model was your tundra?
If I had to pick something I would say the center console because it acted as an armrest as well. And I did like the tundra it really came down to what I needed a truck for and the comfort and ride of the ridgeline are just night and day difference to me.
Hopefully the next gen will have a traditional center console, higher ground clearance, a tad longer and deeper bed, a timing chain, and a smooth drop down tail gate.
@@johnlopez3001 there are aftermarket 2" kits front or all around but you can only put 30.5" tires. If you do that and with a "truck" look, it will diminish what makes it different from the rest. Thank God for you and RUclips...you gave me way more/better info than my dealer did before I bought the Ridgeline. It's a frikkin awsome truck by the way, it's like my previous Tundra, F150 and Mazda B2000 all rolled into one.
Justin, what a great demonstration of the Ridgeline's capabilities! You've pointed out several features I've not seen in other vids and your explanations are clear and upbeat. Thanks for your good work.
I've watched several videos recently on the 2020 Ridgeline..... this is by far the most informative. I believe the RTL-E in Canada is called the Touring model. My 2019 Insight Touring has a lot of the same features as this truck. I learned a few tricks that I can use on my Insight, thanks again, great review!

This was the most informative video I’ve seen on the Ridgeline. I’ve had mine for the last 2 weeks, & still getting comfortable with the controls. I’ll probably have to watch this a few more times, for my benefit, but I’ve never been this satisfied with a new vehicle, and because of Covid-19, I did most of my buying, on the internet!
I’ve had this truck for a month now, and I backed through a 2 foot snow drift, then down my 80 foot driveway, with 12 inches of dry fresh snow, with no problem. I then compacted the driveway for my car to get out! I was completely sold and satisfied with this new truck! Does everything I ever will need of a truck! Not bad for a truck with only 8 inches of clearance!
Thanks Mr Justin : Great video and review. I am looking to purchase a 2020 Honda RIdgeline : you may see me at your showroom soon. keep up the great reviews...
I am thinking about buying a Ridgeline as it's time to downsize from my huge pickup. I hope I dont have to pull a truck out of the water (at 13:27) lol . I think the comments about using the key to shut the windows are not focusing on the safety feature that I believe the engineers had in mind. You dont want to shut the windows on your dog or child's head! Great review, thanks
Great job Justin- You helped me out with a couple of questions on my 2019 RTL-E. Love it- Really hope it lasts, Had a 2011(178,000 miles) was still going strong but time for tech update
Really good video. I’ve watched a couple others, or at least started to watch them and quit because they sucked. I stayed with yours all the way through. Good job.
Test drove one and I liked everything but the lack of a center console arm rest. The fold downs on the seats are too small. Might seem minor but I use it constantly in my current truck.
Great review thank you!! My only cons are no wireless charging and no ventilated seats and no volume knob and like someone else posted no center console which is much better than small ratcheting arm rests
Painting the old wheels does nothing for the truck at all. The unpainted version is better. The very best looking wheels that fit this truck perfectly are 19" Acura ZDX wheels.
the rear bench need for recline angle for long drive. Too up right. Also did they fix the unlock option? My 2017 touching the unlock from driver side doesn't unlock the rear door. Annoying. 2020 and their adaptive cruise control still can't go to completed stop? That is dangerous!
Excellent review. Is the new transmission responsive when slamming pedal? I’ve heard otherwise. Can u by default turn off engine stop start when it is started
I test drove one just the other day, and I had heard there was a slow response when slamming the pedal. I was on the highway and slowed to 45 mph, then slammed pedal. There was about a 2 second delay before the vehicle accelerated. Very unsafe if u need a quick response. That is not a good selling point. Otherwise, the Ridgeline was pretty nice.
i drove that one yesterday----inside is not very comfortable, the dash is fine----first thing I noticed--arm rests are sorta uncomfortable---the vehicle is a nice ride-- they could have done a better job on seats and arm rests---otherwise nice vehicle----
Sorry I'm not a fan. The last couple of years to me it looks more like an SUV or car. The old design looked like a truck. Lots of gadgets to break down and why do you have to use the key to close the windows after using the remote to open
Honda missed an opportunity to fix the window up feature. They allow you to open windows with a remote but make you walk up to the vehicle and pull out a physical key to close the windows. I like to keep my windows open on hot summer days but it would be nice to close them with the remote instead if running out in the rain shower to close them like I have to do now. I don't know how they missed this.
Same on my 2013 truck, can only roll them down with keyfob... They should also use rain sensors used for automatic vipers (if equipped) to roll them up in rain when vehicle is empty, only matter of programming
Give another 2 inches ground clearance and it would sell. As is, it barely sells 30K a year. For honda, those are pathetic numbers. Worse yet, they continually sell their CRV with a micro 1.5 with a over boosted motor that still causes oil dilution. About the only decent one they make is the accord with the 6 speed manual. Other then the Accord the Koreans are kicking Honda's but these days. Big time.
Man if this is not simply an opinionated biased take, I don't know what is. Two inches of extra ground clearance would allow Honda to sell more of these? Yea, I would love to see how you came to that conclusion, that's basically what you are saying. I have a Honda Civic, a 2019 Civic, it is great and have absolutely no issues with it.
@@ArizonaGunsDave based on every single review and many comments that is the number one Achilles heel. It's a niche truck and the units sold indicate that. Ground clearance would definitely help and allow this to go on a lot more off road situations. As for being biased you're talking about driving a Honda and a unibody car at that I mean really? From 2017 to 2019 sales are pretty flat just over 30,000 and going down a bit I mean they're not growing this Market at all that's actually quite bad numbers for the truck and considering how popular trucks are. I'm actually even surprised that they keep this truck in production but I guess they're still making some money.
