The song belongs to The Smiths.
I do not own the song or the clips, I just made the video.
Lyrics:
I am the son and the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir of nothing in particular
[Chorus]
You shut your mouth
How can you say I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
[Refrain]
I am the son and the heir
Of a shyness that is criminally vulgar
I am the son and heir of nothing in particular
[Chorus]
You shut your mouth
How can you say I go about things the wrong way?
I am human and I need to be loved
Just like everybody else does
[Interlude]
There's a club, if you'd like to go
You could meet somebody who really loves you
So you go and you stand on your own
And you leave on your own
And you go home and you cry and you want to die
When you say "it's gonna happen now"
When exactly do you mean?
See I've already waited too long
And all my hope is gone
I just watched the movie with my sister today😇. The Smiths' songs are so powerful! They make me feel like I'm in the 80's while I dance alone to them in my room 🙇🌹
Dancing alone is great practice and stimulates the soul
This happens to be one of those slinky feeling songs that make you want to slink around half naked. Take it from a former dancer.
"See i've already wated too long/ And all my hope is gone". Perfect lyrics : relevant yesterday, relevant today.
Bowie-es
Yes, my favorite line too!
Haunting...powerful...addictive and deeply wonderful....and the Breakfast Club playing on our subconscious in the background...welcome to the 80's and the 90's people...my Generation X era will never be bettered or forgotten...much love X
We had the best music from metal to new wave
Yes indeed GEN X

Teen angst as a way of life!
No matter the decade, relevance is the key to popularity.
OR, dork out! Its all the same. I am now 67 and i loved this melange and still do! It was a John Hughes period. I smiling right now thinking of my own machinations in the years circling becoming an adult.
Yeah, the song is great, the film was a prriod masterpiece and the emotional rollercoaster is entertaing and so very real. The only thing that changes is the faces, the clothes and the songs and with it all, the smiles it brings to us of previous decades👍🏼⚘😊
Young, single, the most attractive you will ever be and yet alone and not appreciating your youth and beauty.
I heard it from a friend who said the Smiths had perfect voices for all things musically and knew perfect harmony all throughout their careers & now Im sure it's true.
WOW. That UNMISTAKABLE 80'S SOUND STILL ROCKS. Unlike 50's, 60's and 70's rock it doesn't sound dated or stale at all.
google 'subjective.'
@@payattention8473 - Most music "cognoscenti" over 50 agree with me & when it comes to appreciating the artistic value & cultural impact of 80's & 90's music millennials & centennials ain't worth squat. IF YOU WEREN'T AT LEAST A TEENAGER WHEN THE 80'S WERE HAPPENING YOU AIN'T QUALIFIED TO SPEAK ON THE SUBJECT AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED.
@@armandocardona4478 Then you are wrong
W❤W!! The 80's were magical and liberating, what a great time to live.
No they were not and the smiths lyrics rebelled againsted the hypocracy
Can't stop listening to this song, love it to death!

Oh man. when you listen with headphones and the intro guitar bounces around your head, you're home.
It has always mesmerized me
Listen to it while getting it on, with a slight buzz....Glynis honey pie!
Greetings Glynis I recommend checking out 'Where I Come From' by Robert Nix
‘The Breakfast Club’ was such a great movie
Excellent editing.. I love how you captured the emotional intensity of the song and correlated it with appropriate scenes.
This video, in my opinion, really allows the viewer to feel more, than if they were say, watching the original video, which had and has nothing to do with the underlying message of the song.
Once again, well done..
I am personally saving this in my favorites.
Thank you,
Jason
Oh, thank you for apreciating my edit :)
I agree. I love this movie ❤️
Yes! Marcelo you singled out the moments of teenage loneliness and their inner turmoil. The music so haunting elevated their angst. You did a beautiful job bringing out such depth from a great but, sillier movie.
Your version was haunting
These were troubled kids all with issues deeper then a prom date or mall job.
TY Marcelo your artistry brought a movie from my teens to a Mature level I appreciate more NOW.
Wish you could really do that with full length films. True talent. Honored.

The Breakfast Club:
GenX music + GenX movies == the best of times
Easily one of the best songs the smiths did.
Maybe the smiths best ever tune.
It’s their best song.
Anthem of the 80’s👍🏻👍🏻
What if you should be content with what you have....but you are not ... no reason just not satisfied...this song speaks to me: regret, non satisfaction, stagnation, waiting and hoping for something more, something special, even though you should be happy with your lot...living, revelling in the past, past memories...instead of focusing on what is to come, I find myself looking to the past and enjoying the nostalgia and the what ifs...anyone else feel like they are on Pause and want to go back to simpler times...

Beautiful match with the breakfast club. 🖤
☆LONG LIVE THE 80'S☆
How did this exceptional era defining band not crack America. 2 songs in the top 40 only. I love everything they did Johnny Marr + Morrisey what a duo
Perfection, Great back in the Day, .Beautiful now 💙
This song is so relatable, and also thank you for making me watch breakfast club, im realy loving it
This pretty much sums up the entire 80’s decade for me , anyway the way I want to remember it ...
Perfect Match !
Thanks 🙏🏻
Let’s see what’s next ...?!
Back to the 80s.
Música boa nunca morre 😍😍🎸🎸🎸
Hopping in here April of 2024. This edit is magnificent. You took what I consider to be one of the definitive prototype “emo sad boi” songs of the 80’s… one that rings so true and genuine in my heart… and then you combined it with THE landmark “coming-of-age films” 80’s flick where teens/young adults start to realize themselves where they currently, or WILL fit into society’s expectations for them….
Goddamn. At my age, I’m starting to come to peace with the “where/what/who” I am, and “worth” towards society.
I may not be happy or satisfied fully with where I wound up, but I AM grateful of the journey and experiences I’ve had up to this point. Just live life, through the good AND bad. It’s the one you’ve been dealt, might as well come out of it saying you tried!
Yeah, but how do you know you've tried hard enough?!
Mess with the Bull, you get the Horns young man !!! 😂
Love this song and movie, 80's forever😊
First single I bought after the fist time I went "clubbing" back in '84. Iconically singular single. 🙌🏼
Stick to your plan.
Anticipate, don't improvise.
Trust no one.
Never yield an advantage.
Fight only the battle you're paid to fight.
Forbid empathy.
Empathy is weakness.
Weakness is vulnerability.
Superb! You did Morrissey and John Hughes proud.
Thank you for the entire experience, and the unblemished lyrics in particular.
Deito meu corpo para sentir o ar frio
Que corre pelas ruas como um sem teto
Sem roupa
Estou cheio de palavras
E às vezes só quero permanecer sozinho
Deitado sobre o teto
O tempo de chuva
Atrasando meus planos
Isso é ridículo
Não é humano recusar um sentimento sincero
Em meu peito uma forte dor
Que derrama lágrimas de um desconhecido
Encorajado a sair e mudar
A história sempre muda
Mas todos somos iguais quando perdemos o ar

This is lovely. Did you write it?
Ughhhhhhh!!!!
Makes me miss the 80's so so bad it hurts my heart ❤ 😥
Unlike most lyric videos, this is actually well edited and original. Good job.

This song/movie editing is flat out genius.
Perfect.
Kudos all around.
You get it.
keep bringing it!
The Breakfast Club in black and white just nails it.
this song relates to brian so much
This song never really ages. It's weird. I know a lot of music nuts say shit like this about every single song ever created but, if someone released this today, you wouldnt bat an eyelid.
This song is like the Stairway to Heaven or Layla of the 80's. The warbling vibrato followed by the crying guitar sound is about the most indelible intro to a song there is; so identifiable and unique.
Perfect song...perfect movie...
Best movie ever.
Nice edit....
Perfect marriage of a great film & a classic song
This could be one of the best things ever created by human beings. Music and lyrics are FUCKING legendary
Bravo !!b club and smiths.i was born in 69 and loved the whole crazy time and music .i different feel about life .latch key kids and being bused in school.
I see them, I miss them, I want to cry 💔🖤
You pin-pointed very well the ambiance-like of a High school and the mood we were in at that time, well done and good song choice. The young man with gloves and jeans jacket looks like a younger version of Rick Beato !
Bravo spot on! Thank you so much for this
"elaboration*; of 2 great art pieces. Found by the lyrics made me cry ♡☆
The Smith's finest hour !!
My husband left me after 14 years! It’s been 3 years and I am happy to be free from the pain and struggle. I am still depressedI listen to this song on repeat for hours! I dance, I scream, I cry! I’m so beautiful! I got my heart broken and I am a single mom that wears a mask. I will never trust again and I will never give my heart to a man again! I hope to find a beautiful woman to share my life with. One that will love me, hold me, and not cheat on me. I am lonely and so depressed. But I’m also happy! This song does it for me! When you go home at night and you want to die
... NBPD whacko
you reap what you sow 👎
I’m sorry you went through all that. I feel you. Not all men are the same so please don’t dismiss them all as there are some really nice men out there (albeit not many!) so please don’t give up hope. 🤓
This song is my life story ❤️
I wish I could give you a hug bereavement has left me alone and cold, a hug is so many emotions released you will find happiness 🤗
so ur gonna turn gay now? women are just as disloyal if not worse
Saw this film when I was in my twenties. Thought it was awesome. Now that I’m older, not as much appeal for me. It’s a true rebellious young person’s film.
ADORE THIS SONG ITS A CLASSIC
LOVE THE VIDEO AS WELL I HAVE
SEEN THE BREAKFAST CLUB ITS REALLY GOOD GREAT CASTING
A REAL GEM 👍♥️
This is exactly how I feel right now.
I hope you’re doing better nowadays

The editing is OUTSTANDING!
The switch to a black screen right after Bender raises his fist as the last switch up kicks in the music......GOOSEBUMPS
One of my top 5 of all time
This song + The Breakfast Club = Total 80s AWESOMENESS! 👍🤟😎
On a side note: I always felt this song would REALLY sound GREAT and fit PERFECTLY with an uploaded Lost Boys (movie) tribute vid! 🤩😎😎😎 Imagine the sounds of this KILLER track combined with the images of rebellious teenage VAMPIRES…😈🩸

Well done! I just found this! Saving it. 💜
Execelente vídeo!
Lo mejor de lo mejor
Love how all the "highschoolers" are in their mid 20s.
In the breakfast club movie? The person who played Claire was 16 when the movie was filmed. Judd however, (The dude that played Bender) was in his mid 20s. So you're right but wrong?
It doesn't matter....this was an excellent cast .
AMH was 14. JN was almost 25🤣

I was lucky. I was born in 69, the Smiths are the soundtrack of my teenage years.
