Great video as usual we always cook things in bacon grease there's nothing like fried potato in bacon grease my mother did it her whole life and she lived to be almost 90 " yeah you right " have a great weekend
Bro, that dish you cooked looked delicious to me. Woke up hungry and drinking my coffee. I am officially saving my big gaff tops from now on. Thanks again for showing how you clean and fillet them. Barataria bay got some 5-6 pounders easy. Even bigger I know cause I caught a couple. Thanks again.
Cool video. The cooking made me hungry. I need to cook some fish soon. I've been looking for some of the no roll weights you use and found them in Va. Not sure why I can't find them around SE Ga. Keep up the great work.
I always wondered why you didn't harvest any of those type catfish but after seeing that epic catch and cook, that dish got my mouth watering. Another great video sir. Stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
Home from work, having some cold ones, and Mr. Hood providing the entertainment. I can't fish, so today so I'm getting my fix watching you. Thank you sir. Yeah, you right. I always fillet my fish from the tail up too. Makes sense to me.
Ware M Hood been? It just doesn't feel rite not having any 4am videos to watch. It makes my morning coffee suck. Just can't get into the mornings without seeing my bro fishing or cooking and other things.
If your ever looking for somewhere to go get a bunch of bait at once, there are thousands of 3-5 inch mullet near the pumping stations to the left of the boat launch. They are out all the time and just take a left on the bike path when looking at the boat launch and ride until there is a bridge
Bein the oldest of 4 in a 6 member nuclear family I went from 7yrs old to 17 strait thru the 1970s. Outside on the run, burnin thru who knows how many calories, us kids gobbled our way thru those 5 pound white paper boxes of 'bacon ends & pieces'. There were well cared for jet black Wagner & Griswolds at the ready on the burners covered with cloth kitchen towels. Always, right to the left of the electric cooktop, the same 12oz coffee cup sat on the counter partially full of set up bacon grease with a folded up kitchen towel sittin on it's top. That cup nearly never made it into the frig. It didn't exist long enough to sit around & go sour. Like that guy in the Frank's hot sauce commercial says "she put that $#&! on everything". Biscuit & cornbread pans got greased with it, eggs & skillet burgers got cooked in it, a dollop went into gravies, roasts, rices, vegetables, hamburger helper, U name it. Everything tasted better for it. Cooking for 1 now it's just a little butter or olive oil these days. Never seen anybody work that iron skillet & bacon grease magic the way she did. She'd have scrambled eggs, meat & potatoes under ur nose b4 U had yourself fully woke up. Don't see anything odd about using that for cooking. In fact, I had a younger brother who at ages 6,7,8 would bring home 2-3-4 pound bass from farm ponds, cut them up himself, she'd set him up with the fixins which included bacon grease & he'd go out in the field in view of the kitchen window and build a fire and fry up his own fish. Bacon grease & I believe sausage grease went into that cup also, was a staple like flour, sugar & salt.
