John the Baptist is the messenger sent to prepare the way for the Lord. Malachi 3:1. This is from Matthew's gospel who is well known to copy 85% from Mark's gospel and then adds his own embellishments. In fact, the 4 gospels should not be treated as harmonising each other. Matthew's gospel was meant to REPLACE Mark's gospel. This is according to Professor John Barton in his book "History of The Bible". John Barton is an Anglican priest and Biblical scholar. He is NOT a Muslim. Is it no wonder why Matthew's gospel was canonised as the first gospel over Mark's gospel even though the latter is the earliest of the 4 gospels?

It doesn't take away the baptism of Jesus in Mark's gospel so either this is a contradiction or Mark and John are different accounts written for different purposes. In fact, Mark is the earliest Gospel so it's not surprising to see men changing the historical figure of Jesus for theological reasons.

Once a person does that, they have been baptized in Jesus' name, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; and have received the Holy Ghost, and are born again. You must be born again. Jesus was water baptized by John the Baptist "to fulfil all righteousness" and that's what Jesus says, and there is no other answer.

I quoted from Mark's gospel which mentions NOTHING about fulfilling the righteousness. This is from Matthew's gospel who is well known to copy 85% from Mark's gospel and then adds his own embellishments.
In fact, the 4 gospels should not be treated as harmonising each other. Matthew's gospel was meant to REPLACE Mark's gospel. This is according to Professor John Barton in his book "History of The Bible". John Barton is an Anglican priest and Biblical scholar. He is NOT a Muslim.
Is it no wonder why Matthew's gospel was canonised as the first gospel over Mark's gospel even though the latter is the earliest of the 4 gospels?

Verse 7 of Mark 1 tells you the nature of the person according to John the Baptist. Verse 11 of Mark 1 the Father confirmed the person as His beloved Son. Verse 14-15 of Mark 1 the same person the way was being prepared for tells us that the time is fulfilled. For you to say the baptism of Jesus Christ was to remove His sins is being ingenious of you because Mark isn't saying that. To rely only on Mark to support your claim is a false premise while the other authors of the gospels relay the very same message. Even if you read Mark in context is saying opposite of what you claim sir.

Clearly you could see later gospel writers revised the baptism story in Mark's gospel to suit their own narrative.

John baptized God (as you believe is Jesus). You all are confused. For being baptized?
SCRIPTURE: For He hath made Him (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, WHO KNEW NO SIN; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
So Jesus knew no sin. And we are made the righteousness of God in Him... So what enabled Christ to not know sin? The righteousness of a Holy God.
SCRIPTURE: For even hereunto were ye called: because CHRIST also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps: 22 WHO DID NO SIN, neither was guile found in His mouth: 23 Who, when He was reviled, reviled not again; when He suffered, He threatened not; but committed Himself to Him that judgeth righteously: 24 Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
So Jesus did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth, because He was committed to the Holy God, and did His works, for the sake of our souls.
It doesn't take away the baptism of Jesus in Mark's gospel so either this is a contradiction or Mark and John are different accounts written for different purposes. In fact, Mark is the earliest Gospel so it's not surprising to see men changing the historical figure of Jesus for theological reasons.

So this is him preaching of a baptism to come... one that will be done by the same man he called the Lamb of God...
So this baptism he's preaching of, the baptism of the Holy Ghost to be done by Jesus, is the one that is for the remission of sins.
Nowhere in Mark does it say John baptized for the remission of sins. But that he preached of that baptism.
"The baptism of repentance for the remission of sins" is literally to repent, and believe in Jesus Christ. Once a person does that, they have been baptized in Jesus' name, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; and have received the Holy Ghost, and are born again. You must be born again.
Jesus was water baptized by John the Baptist "to fulfil all righteousness" and that's what Jesus says, and there is no other answer.

This book covers the discussion of Christian doctrine and how the Church fathers officiated to add the Holy Spirit as the third person of Trinity in 381 CE at the Council of Constantinople.
