Hey Papa, I’m happy to see your channel is still going strong! You’ve got some very impressive viewership numbers too!! Was awesome to see Paula’s cameo too - that was a nice shot 😉 Keep up all the good work you’ve been up to, and I hope you continue to spread your wealth of knowledge on air rifles and general firearm safety. I love you and I’m proud of you!

It ain't nothing as good as a good quality Air Rifle or Gun to do way with the Destructive Critters, and have a little fun at the same time for the youth or adult.
But accuracy is very important with open sight or a scope and some shots can only be done with a good quality scope.
    👍

Hello, another great video. I wanted to let you know that I was having trouble with one of my scopes, so I recently purchased a CV Life 2 mm motion awake green dot. I shoot in the daylight, and the green shows up nicely for eyes. That discount is nice. My grandkids will love it at Thanksgiving. I have it on a 10-shot repeater Gen 3 Gamo .177. The Gen 3 eliminates all those old nagging problems with double feeding and flying pellets. I do not even fiddle with the fit. I have not had a single issue in a thousand shots.

Bill ... thanks for sharing your experience. Always good to hear about someone who has enjoyed the discounts we negotiate for our viewers. I am working on another today. Dr. Russ

Like always dr Russ. Good advice. Here in northern ca we have a good amount of wolves, several came down from Oregon and started their own pack, the ranchers are already having problem with them getting their livestock, they can’t do anything about it because the DFG has kept close eyes on them and several are tagged with transmitting devices, so it’s getting ugly.

Crazy Horse .... thanks for the compliment .... and keep an eye out for those wolves..... if they get into your area, your pet cats and dogs will disappear.... thanks for the update... Dr. Russ

As a gunner, I noticed in your intro, you put your left hand over your right? What do you teach and recommend? I’m left eye dominant. Switch to lefty? Always love your posts.

Jason ... thanks for the compliment ... left eye dominant leads me to recommend that you switch to lefty..... or keep on practicing until the right eye becomes dominant... but your best eye should always be the one that aims.... Dr. Russ

Enjoyed the video as always! I also have an intro-related question. Which crossbow are you wearing while walking through the yard - would you ever do a video on it? Also, harkening back a ways, do you still own and shoot your Benjamin Bulldog? That was my first large bore air rifle and your video helped me make that decision. A few upgrades later from Pitbull and I love that rifle. I’m curious if you still do, too.

      @russjones6497 3 месяца назад +2

XDMC ... it is good to hear from you again. Yes, I have two crossbows. Brands include "Killer Instinct" and "Crosman". The key is affordability (Both were about $300) and most important, both had velocities of 300+ fps. Both shoot 20 inch bolts (arrows). More money is required when you buy hunting, razor sharp points, beyond the plain target points, and when you buy additional bolts. Typically some bargains when you go to eBay. Yes, I plan to have a video on that subject. We also did a video on hog hunting in Florida where I harvested a wild boar with an air rifle that shot bolts. See our entire library when you click on the circle of my photo at the top. Lastly, I still own and treasure my Crosman/Benjamin Bulldog with upgrades from Pitbull. It was my first large bore air rifle and remains in excellent condition with lots of power. Dr. Russ

Dr. Russ, thank you for another great video! I’m interested in how you charge your PCP guns and what equipment you use to do so. Maybe a future video topic?

Matt .. it is good to hear from you. We have addressed this in the past, and will probably do another in the future. Click on the round icon and review our past videos. I believe they have the word "air" in the title. I try to use air tanks, an inexpensive Hatsan compressor, and an expensive compressor which is shown in our intro. Never the less, we will cover that topic again in 2025, probably after I invest in another air source. Dr. Russ

Obadiah ... I enjoy all of the Passions of air gunning ... including trick shots. Ive never been challenged by that particular shot before ... but it certainly would be easier at short distances rather than long. I will make that a subject of a future video... thanks for the idea. Dr. Russ

Dr. Russ that ring mount is an adjustable one! where you can raised for elevation and maybe if it’s the same with the FX or Sportsmatch brand it can move right or left,I guess? by the way is it Westhunter brand?

    Hi Dr Russ
    I'd like your comment please?
How do I send you a photo of the scoring / scraping of metal files on the barrel underside my 400 pellets since new gamo swarm.
Shop says never a problem , then first time , then they all do it, not a problem.
Kind regards Donald Payne, New Zealand

Donald .... I hate to share this ... buy my experience with Gamo is that they are one of the big 3 air gun manufacturers ... who bought Daisy to get their distribution system as their own ... and who don't come in the top three as the best maintainer of the guns they repair. I wish they did... Best thing you can do when they decline your request is to take it back where you bought it ... or fix it yourself. Dr. Russ

      Thanks Dr Russ.
Maybe take a look at yours,
I took off the stock to inspect the cocking linkage. Revealedl scrap marks, say 250mm long on the underside of the barrel or pump assy.
Looked like about the same number of cocking cycles.
      unsure of why yet.
There is 2 wear bushes that also show tearing and galling.
I smeared hi load grease and didn't see any more swarf generated.

@@donaldpayne1376 Donald .... thanks for sharing your GAMO experience. While my Gamos... I checked all 3 of them did not show the marks you described, It sounds like you are treating the problem correctly, and as I would with a similar experience. Also consider polishing the inside of your rifled barrel with a compound polish (cream with a fine sand feeling) to get rid of any rifling manufacturing errors.... burrs etc. ... I found that this has helped a number of my air guns.... just make sure you don't get any polish or debris into the pneumatic ports or pump.... Dr. Russ
