I learned some context and backstory for Rewrite last night, and I think it’s really interesting! I wanna talk about it here since I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else mention this: Rewrite is based on the original Sonic.exe. After several reloads of his world, one particular iteration of Sonic.exe became even more powerful. More…sentient. He gained the ability to shape his own world for each new player. In “Thriller Gen”, Rewrite takes on BF one-on-one. He wants a way to make himself known. But in “Trinity”, Rewrite summons the three most famous Creepypasta Sonics before appearing by himself. It’s likely that this was Rewrite’s way to slowly let BF’s guard down. He wanted a way to get inside BF’s head (and the player’s), as evident by his unsettling lyrics towards the end of the song.
I thought he liked "harnessed/possessed" each popular sonic.exe and for each being he would combine with he gets an extra red ring with is why in thriller gen BF turns into a ring

He knows he is one of the hundreds of the sonic exe and you can tell he knows when he says"this cliche never dies" and "you can pick your favorite thing" and he knows about the game mechanics. when you die in fnf you restart the whole song and he knows about that mechanic when he says "when you die we meet again" and he WALK during the song and not during a cutscene. He make beats with his stomps and walks so the game doesn’t think he is breaking the game and he kills bf
