Sorry I couldn't get the vocals out of the song, they're spread all through the 5.1 mix and not a single international dub I found actually redubbed it either. Honestly I'm surprised no-one tried this sooner, but hopefully this will be of use to people wanting to make ever-more cleverly insane twists on this thing.
Also I completely missed my 4-year channel anniversary a few weeks ago so... that was a thing I forgot. Yep. Totally missed out. - Видеоклипы
I initially thought there was something wrong with the volume. So I turned it up all the way.
Just in time for 0:14.
*I was wearing headphones*
I mean, it is an instrumental dubbing track.
I see. Or rather, hear.
I know right!
You're an idiot
OH EGADS!
it's sad that i know this by heart and said it all to myself during the video
I can relate, sadly.
Can relate
HOW!?!?
What’s worse is that I recited the AUSTRALIAN dub by memory.
Is steamed hams a fandom now
Imagine trolling everyone at a karaoke bar by playing this as a “duet” and reenacting the dialogue.
That would be funny. xD
And here I was expecting their voices to be replaced with musical instruments :D
Same lmaoo
1:16 I never noticed that you could here skinner’s kitchen catching fire in the background.
Kinda weird that at 1:56 the fire just abruptly grows when it should've been steadily rising over time.
This is probably my favourite version of Steamed Hams.
And boy am I glad I fell into the Steamed Hams meme rabbithole the other week or I would be incredibly confused right now.
Think again

@@jeremymain7303the meaning is steamed hams
I CAN STILL HEAR THE VOICES AAAAAAAAAAAH
Then theres something wrong with the video because it's meant to be an instrumental dub
The singers are part of the instrumental.

Maybe it was too glitchly to remove the singers vocal

Really wish there was a way to remove the vocals from the Skinner & The Superintendent Theme Song.
Same. Looks like the international dubs had the same failed dream because none of the foreign editions dub it either - apart from the french-canadian but if you listen the original english is still underneath.
I did. Problem is that none of the other dubs actually have the song's instrumental underneath either, so that method won't work.
There are a few dubbed versions of the theme song, but over the English track, so it's clear there wasn't much intent of the songs sticking to the separate audio channels thing that the rest of the show has going for itself.
lol how bout remaking the music
This'll make a good fandub source.
I find this unnerving.
Odd, I found it kinda relaxing.
when he is calling himself delightfully devilish the music is so good
Superintendent Chalmers rang Principal Skinner's doorbell. After Seymour answered the door, Chalmers assured him that he had arrived, despite Skinner's directions.
Happy to see the superintendent, Skinner greeted him and hoped that he'd be prepared for an unforgettable luncheon. As Chalmers took a seat, Skinner entered the kitchen, when all of a sudden he realized smoke was emitting from his oven.
His roast was ruined. But after looking out his window, Skinner's mind began to form a devilish plan: To purchase fast food and disguise it as his own cooking.
But as he headed out the window, he was caught dead in his tracks by the superintendent.
Right after Chalmers had caught him red handed, Seymour quickly explained that he was merely stretching his calves on the windowsill, which was, as he put it, "Isometric exercise."
After asking if Chalmers cared to join him, the superintendent ignored him and asked why smoke was coming out of Skinner's oven.
Skinner assured him that it was not smoke, but steam.
Steam from the steamed clams he was preparing for lunch.
He gestured that they would taste good.
After Chalmers exited the kitchen, Seymour prepared to execute his plan to fix the luncheon.
When lunch began, Skinner stated that he hoped Chalmers was ready for "mouthwatering hamburgers."
Chalmers expressed his confusion to the principal as he was under the impression they'd be having steamed clams, but Skinner claimed that he had actually said steamed hams, a term he used to describe hamburgers, baffling the superintendent.
Skinner explained that it was a regional dialect, and when Chalmers asked for what region, Skinner replied "Upstate New York." A native of Utica,
Chalmers was skeptical, but Seymour assured him it was strictly an Albany expression. As the gentlemen ate, the superintendent felt that the hamburgers were reminiscent of the ones sold at Krusty Burger. Skinner scoffed at the idea and explained to Chalmers that they were in fact an old family recipe, patented Skinner Burgers™.
But Chalmers was still not convinced seeing that the so called "steamed hams" were in fact grilled.
At a loss for words Principal Skinner began to stutter.
He asked for Chalmers to excuse him for a brief moment, the superintendent agreeing.
Realizing that his kitchen was on fire, Skinner re-entered the dining room, telling Chalmers that he was tired and ready to end the luncheon. The superintendent was shocked to see what was occurring in the principal's kitchen, to which Skinner replied "Aurora Borealis."
Baffled by the principal's response, Chalmers questioned Skinner's explanation, as Aurora Borealis taking place only in his kitchen sounded unlikely.
Assuring him that it was in fact Aurora Borealis, Chalmers asked if he could see it, which the principal replied "No."
As Seymour saw Chalmers to the door, Agnes yelled that the house was on fire, which Skinner denied.
Chalmers expressed how he felt Skinner was an odd fellow, however he left telling him that he "Steamed a good ham."
Hearing more shrieks from Skinner's mother, he took one last look, as Principal Skinner gave him a thumbs up.
Once Chalmers was out of sight, Skinner immediately ran in to save his mother from his burning house.
Oh My god this will come in handy thank you!
Do you mind to tell me how you managed to remove the vocals and keep the sfx and music with such good quality? I only the know average vocals removal method that just gives a really bad quality.
I found a source for the audio off the DVD releases that have the remastered 5.1 surround audio instead of the 2.0 stereo you usually find. All the vocals (apart from the song) were only in one channel so I simply worked around that. ;-D
Oh shit, I heard about 5.1 surround audio before but never knew it works like that, thanks!
MKtheinstrumentalist Did you use audacity to do this?
picked ear wax
Could you try exporting two tracks with the voices + music and with just the music, import both tracks into Audacity then invert the one with the music? It should cancel out the music and leave you with vocals.

It’s a mind trick
This would’ve been useful for the guy who made an Australian dub of this.
I just noticed an animation error in this episode:
When Skinner brings in the burgers and places them on the table, there is 4 four burgers.
When they start eating, it changes to two burgers.
Skinner has a burger in his hand in the shot where Chalmers takes a burger.
Somehow when I started watching this video I said their lines
Stupid me!
My mind just filled in the voices
0:34 NO! YOU RUINED THE PEACE!
It’s sad when you can still hear the voices despite there being no vocal audio in the entirety of this video
Steamed Hams but is dubbed by Gordon Freeman.
I just realized. During the "Isometric Exercise" section... Shouldn't the sound of the ruined roast be louder when the camera is on Seymour? It's slightly quieter.
I could never tell if the knocking sound while Skinner was scheming was from the music or if it was supposed to be Chalmers knocking on the door.
Hey, I noticed the majority of this video is sound effects!, and I have noticed that the bird chirping sound effects are the same as the ones used in Seasons 4-7, e.g. from 1:18, I keep on expecting trucks rolling in the background or something.

Alternative name: Steamed hams but there vocal cords exploded
I'm sorry because I'm sure you've gotten this a ton... but is there a tutorial on removing voices from things like this? Like, to this level of perfection?
tbh I got lucky - the 5.1 surround mix had all the dialogue perfectly in the centre channel. Most mixes put a bit of reverb on it in the rear channels but they didn't in this scene. SO I just carefully smoothed out and edited the other channels together.
100% Grade F meat! But seriously, I loved it way more than I probably should have.
MK and everybody, i know of a couple of things that might be able to make an instrumental/karaoke version of the song, but they both have pros and cons.
An program called ISSE (pronounced "ice"), which is a manual Spectrogram editor that's free.
And a site called PhonicMind, which costs money to use, but uses an A.I to automatically try and make karaokes and acapellas out of audio.
I already have a manual spectrogram editor (iZotope RX) and I can safely say that it wouldn't help very much in this case. The vocals are mixed in a 5.1 spread so nothing will cancel if you try conventional methods. I will have to investigate PhonicMind however, thanks for the tip!
You're welcome.

The Quebec dub dubbed the song, though they may have recreated the music themselves to do so.
Could you send me a link to it, please? I might be able to update this instrumental if they did it with mono vocals.
Actually, upon rewatching it, looks like the Quebec dub opted to do the song a capella. Here it is anyways:

I always wondered why that kitchen door couldn't shut at that specific scene. And how it kinda just decreased in width?

Sure, it's free to use. Thanks for asking tho! ;-D
