I was able to watch their San Francisco concert on their recent tour from the balcony and drummer Akane was a revelation. I had always heard her amazing playing before, but it didn't really sink in until I was able to watch her from above so that I could see how she actually moved her arms and legs while playing. Being able to see and hear her play at the same time blew my mind. She is beyond astounding.
The US sets were about 1h.45m- 16-18 songs. They used to be 2h- 23-25 songs pre Covid but they are getting on a bit now. With Akane- forget about hands and feet seperately, they are all equal. She plays snare fills on the kick drum and heavy beats using snare and floor tom together as in Influencer. You do need to watch just her in a live song to see what she gets up to there is some great fan cam footage from their US Tour from the side of the stage- Boston I think, so you can see her clearly.
I'm not sure it's really an age issue: a domestic tour for them often has over a week between gigs - they're not "on the road" as they were in the US, so they're more rested. On the Japanese "Pre-US Tour MIni-Tour" (five dates over 24 days) they played 19 songs the first gig, 20 the second and third, 21 at the fourth, and finished up at Eggman Shibuya with 22. Now it's true that the previous US tour was also five dates and they played 23 songs at each of those - but that was before "Different"/Unseen World/Unleash took the technical insanity up a big notch, and I wouldn't be surprised if even at the end of the 2019 US tour they felt in hindsight that 23 songs had been an overreach with so little recovery time between concerts. Anyway, in the post-show pics from the last couple years you can usually see Saiki holding a massager to her neck and MISA with an icepack on her left forearm. And then the whole band stomps on Kobato's back to loosen it up 😄
Another great reaction and the lyrics for this song were written by the lead vocalist, Saiki. She was inspired by reports in the news during the lock down about all the affairs happening and to one of her friends and it made her really angry. If you want, here's a link to the last show in Chicago, full show - of course a lot of the songs you haven't listened to yet, but you could break it up into segments and react to different segments. This was filmed by Wave Potter for his channel, you might want to touch bases with him first if you plan on doing a reaction, he's pretty cool.
Yes indeed. The friend who's name rhymes with MISA. 🙂

The sadness of being over is a common phenomenon. One remedy is to relisten the whole EP off camera five times focusing on each member. You'll find so much you've missed the first time around
Yes, go see a performance first chance you get. Yes, it is exhausting. It is cathartic. Saiki is mesmerizing, Kobato is energetic, Akane is happily beating the evil thoughts out of her rented drum kit, Kanami becomes Mincho, and MISA is 雷女神. They have a presence that is hard to explain.
As mentioned by others. The lyrics written by Saiki. But the music lends itself to such an outpouring of pent up emotion. Again has to go down as one of the best songs on an incredible collection. A live Band Maid concert is Rock/Pantomime/fun/skill and madness. They are just brilliant.
The way the Maids handle the intense live performance, is that they take an, “MC”, break after each 4 songs. And mid way they take a long break with, “Miku’s Magic Spell Time.” lol
Band Maid may be the best band of all-time at combining experimentation (individual musical identity), entertainment (a song that you want to hear, again and again and again) and consistency (despite anything and everything, you always know that you're listening to Band Maid, using no other identification than the song itself). They are a unique, synergistic, visionary blend of very talented individuals.
They have another 115 songs with studio and live versions, in many cases MULTIPLE DIFFERENT Live versions. So 115 times however many different versions you wish to listen to.. It can keep you reacting every day for the next year at least.
MISA MISA MISA!!!!! 2 hours or so not 1 but they manage their time VERY WELL full on for a half dozen songs then an MC break followed by another 4 or 5 songs then the Main Break (Omaginai Time (Magic Spell Time)) an Instrumental or 2 or 1 and a song sung by the Rhythm Guitarist, couple more songs then another MC break then Foot to the Floor for the Last 4 songs.
I consider this as just the beginning, Po! They seem to put out a song, EP, or full album every 365 days. So, I suspect something will come out Apr. 1st (148 days from today 11/4/2023). This date is synonymous to a Band Maid surprise, rather than April Fools day. Btw, they are world-class athletes, especially, Akane (Drums). She is a beast from the beginning to the end! There are 120 more songs, 49ish MV on their YT channel to go, and now over 500 YT famcam clips of their US tour (some look and sound pretty good). 🦍 Have at it, Po!
Their "one-man shows" (only one band plays -- gender is irrelevant)) commonly run 22-28 songs, with the concert running one and a half, to two and a half hours in length, with the Maids playing full-out most of the show. When the band first started-out, I heard more than one commentator (OK, 3) say that a band of "girls" would never have the stamina to complete and maintain Miku"s vision for the band -- the grind would kill them. Uh-huh. Sure. The descriptor here is "thrive", not "survive". and, no way, no way, "fail".
Go to Vladimir Chupin's channel. He attended all but one of the Ladies concerts and recorded them. He has them set up in playlists by venue, so you can see the entire concert from his POV with pretty decent sound.
You've still got 'Different' single and 'Unseen World' album for this 'era' of Maid Rock...but I say hold off a while and discover their past story, progression and true variety. Or alternate UW and classic Maid tracks. It's just the beginning 😁🤘🤘🤘
Is truly a shame this is the last Band Maid Song you ever did. They release a lot more since this. I wanted to subscribe but if you're not doing any more I'm not really seeing the point since they are who I usually listen to
@@JayDavisAtHome That’s totally fair. I’ve been wanting to make more videos for this channel but haven’t had the time and energy. Thanks for watching this, though!

Your facial expression when the onslaught started priceless ;-)
The lyrics are from Saiki and they are savage in a good way ;-)

Someone has posted the whole online Christmas acoustic concert. Chilled out versions of some UW tracks...awesome 👌
So Unseen World next? :-)
I’ve already listened to all their previous stuff so I won’t be making reactions for it haha.
@@shizzyreacts Haha...ignore my other comment then. A video to recap and talk about your favourites would be interesting. Rock on mate 👍🤘🤘🤘

From Now On I'll Hate....are 3 bangers from the "Unleash" EP. You didn't think i meant i'll hate from now on did you?😏
Words of wisdom, never, ever get on the wrong side of Saiki:
I hate you lalala... La!
I don't care if you die out
@@glenkelley6799 "I don't care if you die out", i love that line. I mean you would've thought just dying would've been bad enough.😆
Check out “Hibana”….came out as a “B” side with Sense…..same vibe and should have been on this EP. Love what your doing!!

The reason why Akane is always EATING. She doesn't eat forget about concerts.

You are now ready for Unseen World album ;)
Shame you didnt get to read the brutal lyrics with this one lol. Go read them with your next listen, and be glad you are not that guy lol.

Luckily you have many more albums that are just as good in different ways.
Isn't it usually a 2 hour set live? They are monsters
Akane is an absolute Monster throughout this EP
Now do Unseen World top to bottom!
