I'm Sinhalese and from Sri Lanka. I searched for explanation of psychoanalytic theory videos on RUclips for days and watched. But I would say that this is the best video I got for understanding the theory. Even I couldn't find any tutorial that was helpful even in my own language. But this was the best. Not everything's black and white. So I feel both those theory's on how personality comes about is true. I think we are born with a lot of it and the rest develops through childhood.

I don't know of a free course, although I would be surprised if there wasn't one. But take a look at OER. Online educational resources. They are free textbooks that are available online. There are plenty in psychology and you may find one that focusses on personality.
