I saw Eric in a Trader Joe's right after the show started. He was in an aisle and I was rolling my shopping cart and I saw him down the aisle. He looked at me because I had stopped and backed up to look at him. He looked up and smiled. I had done a total Jack move. I still smile when I think it.
Even though Burrows is 2nd generation of show business royalty, he acknowledges that it was Mary Tyler Moore who made his television career possible when she hired him to direct an episode of her show. I grew up on MTM & call it my Secular Humanism .101, it taught me how to get along with others regardless of your differences (& I still rip off Rhoda shtick a lifetime & half a century later). That he should shepherd groundbreaking Will & Grace is a total full circle, personally speaking - James Burrows, you have RUINED my life! Thank you so much!♥
