I have always used lead . Nice to see you mould some too . I get down my local scrap yard .With 9mm you get a few from a kg ..Less that a £ for a kg . Works out best value for me..
Great video Chris my husband "Randell Monaghan" told me to watch some of your videos. glad I did, he was right really great informational slingshot videos. Have a great day.
Awesome, Chris & Paul are legends! Such good tutorials! Paul you need to get your arse into gear brother & make more vids lol! Yeah bean shots sound good! Took out a Spotted dove 2 weeks ago in my back yard about 15mtrs! Fried the 2 tiny fillets! God dam it was tasty!
I use a mould for casting muzzle loader shot, I use a .40 caliber mould. Mine only does 2 at a time but it does cut the spur off with a gate so I can make a bunch in no time.
As a mechanic who works for 3 separate shops and affiliated with half a dozen more I get steel ball bearings by the bucket loads, but I've always liked using marbles as there light for there size but not too light, just right
Nice to see a mould in use. ..if you tap the sprue each side the mould will crack open without using they pliers ...you ever need another or a referb on a existing mould just let me knarr
Please could you do a review of the hitman pinch pouch if you ever get hold of one, I can no longer grip the pouch due to injury and i hear they can be used with an archery release?
I have a lunch box sized amount of 12mm lead beans both sizes and 10mm, I've had no success with beans. 9.5mm steel much to my surprise I have done best with, could never master otf, since I got a GZK hammer Im finally killing thanks to your channel, green or black gzk and 9.5mm steel works, gonna try slightly bigger balls with the black. I only like body shots on birds and close stalking. might try 10mm leads for the chest?
Yes mate 10mm you shouldn't have a problem with body shots providing they are going fast enough. It can really badly damage your meat though hence why I use steel and always try for the head
Same as that. I used to cast my own 10mm lead, but I far prefer 9.5mm steel with a 30/25 TBG set up for hunting. TTF is also my preferred catty. Had success with 8mm steel on a 20/15 TBG.
For decades, petroleum was full of lead. That lead is STILL in the environment. It's going nowhere, and it's already everywhere. Sure, lead ammo is harmful.... But it's a piss in the ocean
How ye doin lads... im thinkin of down sizing my 10mm shootin to 8mm for hunting as i want a but lighter set up and flatter shooting whats yer views or tips for set ups?
Great informative video! Been watching alot of your videos since subscribing. Really enjoy the catch and cook and bushcrafty videos! Quick question would a .75 band be okay for 11mm steel. If it was being used as a hunting setup?
If you can't find a mould in the shape your looking for you could always make a custom mould like some do for pouring lead fishing weights, I will drop a link below to how to make lead moulds using a putty :)
Oh and for casting the "bean" shape you could try using wooden dowels that are the right size and smoothing them off with sandpaper to get it to look how you want and use that to make your mould, hope this helps

Excellent, but do wear gloves when handling lead a lot.
Or at the very least, be very cautious about touching your eyes, nose, or mouth until you scrub up really good!
Great accents! Whereabouts in New York do you guys live?
We a long way from New York lol

Spreading lead in the environment, looks like you have full understanding of what you are doing.
For decades, petroleum was full of lead.
That lead is STILL in the environment. It's going nowhere, and it's already everywhere.
Sure, lead ammo is harmful.... But it's a piss in the ocean
Buchcraft and slingshot, he'll yes. I just subbed.
Isn't lead toxic? Just saying for health's sake.
Candle your molds, they wont stick then.
Need good ventilation when you are doing it !! ..always the best is Lead
What band cut are you using for 8mm leads
24-12 .66mm

hey, who else saw the squirrels paws move together at the end????
Lead fumes are lethal... Just saying.
Avoid heating lead too much and wear a mask. Problem solved. I always do my casting outdoors to help reduce the fumes too.
can you use small round fish weights for ammo? the ones that are round with a slit in them?
yeah mate

Never heard of anyone using Aluminium ammo before
My toddler has used aluminum for his first hundreds of shots
Just for a Lil bit more safety
