- Why is Goku Black BRITISH in Super Saiyan ROSE? Why has Goku Black got an english british accent? Goku Black's voice actor, Sean Schemmel explained the proper reasons behind the Super Saiyan Rose British voice. Schemmel said the English accent was due to him following Zamasu's voice actor, James Marsters. it would be funny that in Latin American version he would talk like a spaniard since Latinos got our independence from Spain and the Spanish over there has a very different accent indeed. LOL

that's a major plus point and it will really help in the long run. That might be why they've taken time to bring the anime back
To be fair, it actually tracks with what we know about Super Saiyan in terms of voice/personality.
Like you said, in Super Saiyan and 2. Goku and Gohan's voices respectively got deeper and more primal, because its more in touch with their Saiyan instincts.
So if Rosè is assumably just the Super Saiyan form but evolved with divine energy (like the Manga implies it to be), it makes sense that his voice would actually change to reflect tapping into his more baser instincts of Zamasu and as such the voice and dialogue would change to reflect that shift.
the way zamasu felt and talked after getting his new godly form from his own passion and personality / soul energy
i love listening to the voice actors and you can HEAR the voice inside of them just beyond their normal speaking voice.
both sabat and schemmel you can just hear vegeta and goku strongly in their normal voices. i love that.

#enders it does make sense that Goku black's voice would sound like Goku because he has Goku's vocal cords and the same mouth muscles, his accent and dialect should be that of zamasu though. Like think about if someone from America took over your body, they would still say things that Americans say like fries, cookies, pants, gasoline etc that are different words than you would use, and the way the "attack" or emphasis on those words would be as the person would normally say them, it would just have the tambre of your voice. For a simplified explanation, take a classical piano piece like Bache or Beethoven and now play that same piece on guitar. It will be recognizable as the original because it is played exactly the same, but the instrument will change the tone of how it feels.

Wow i didn't notice that Goku Black becomes British in Rosè.
I think he nails Goku Black's voice in DBZ FighterZ the most, where there isnt the overly throaty voice he had in XV but a lessened British accent it started with, to just sounding like a meaner Goku with a calmer but slightly more flamboyant voice.
I know people got at Sean for this, but it does make sense for base Goku black to sound like just base Goku, and Rose Goku to sound sligtly different and more like Zamasu's power having more dominance over Goku's body thus changing his speech pattern and tone slightly.
Oh my gosh! I did not even know that! Because I haven't watched all super (my all time fave is DBZ).

The true reason is easy. He simply becomes more evil when he transforms and therefore British.

That didn't make sense. The original Japanese version aired in June 12, 2016. He could've used that version as a guide, and in that version it's Goku's voice but deeper. The implication that he just doesn't bother watching the original before dubing makes things ten times worse.
There are probably rules their like he said Japanese didn't want any spoilers for the Americas. I like the accent. Since zam has a British accent too. It was one voice act not the end of the world lol
