- Breathtaking...
Nearly 20 years after first finding the sunken remains of the R.M.S. Titanic, marine explorer Robert Ballard returned in June 2004, helped by the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration to study the ship's rapid deterioration.
The Titanic team worked aboard NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from May 30 through June 9, spending 11 days at the wreck site, mapping the ship and conducting scientific analysis of its deterioration.
The team used Institute for Exploration (IFE) remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) Hercules and Argus to conduct a sophisticated documentation of the state of Titanic was not possible in the 1980s.
This "look, don't touch" mission used high-definition video and stereoscopic still images to provide an updated assessment of the wreck site at a depth of 3,840 meters (12,600 feet).
As the nation's ocean agency, NOAA has a vested interest in the scientific and cultural aspects of the Titanic and in its appropriate treatment and preservation. NOAA's focus is to build a baseline of scientific information from which we can measure the shipwreck's processes and deterioration, and then apply the knowledge we gain to other deepwater shipwrecks and submerged cultural resources.

It would be a life long dream to go underwater and see the Titanic :(
I’m so afraid of the ocean and it was literally an achievement just watching this
Can you image how the Titanic must have looked once it hit the ocean floor? It was in pristine condition, sat there miles beneath the ocean. Apart from it being ripped apart, it must have looked mysterious.
Gosh ! Can't believe that wreckage of Titanic is still existing underwater since 1912 like 100 yrs ago !!!!
What somebody needs to do with that expedition, is get the worlds brightest LED set, mount it onto the sub, and see how bright we can make the wreck appear on a camera for better results...
Who still watching in 2020??
After 100 years, Titanic is still alive in the hearts of people.
The music is perfect. It sounds really sad and desolate but also somehow peaceful at the same time. It also sounds very much like water flowing gently. After 100 years it is now a graveyard; haunting but peaceful at the same time. I've always liked the German word "Friedhof" for graveyard. Literally translated it means "peace yard".
Do you know the name of this music? Gives me goosebumps!
... -_-
its hard to believe its been 100 years. Rest In Peace to all of the souls on Titanic
really spooky and creepy watching this at late night plus the full audio
its unbelievable. its still there and we are here thinking about it
Is it weird I still cry about Titanic even to THIS day!?
To think, it hit an iceberg one freezing night in April 1912, and it's been resting there ever since. That ship once had a captain, a crew, passengers with dreams of moving to America. It's amazing and tragic at once.
I thank the scientists for this footage and that all items were left alone as it is a graveyard R I P to all that died you will never be forgotten
Who is here in 2020 during covid-19 pandemic.👍
Its sad to see the most beautiful ship now lying on the ground of an ocean, left there, cant be lifted, rest in peace for all the people that were on that ship, rest in peace all souls, loved by many.
seeing her come out of the darkness like a ghost ship, still gets me every time! To see the sad ruin of the great ship, sitting here, where she landed at 2:30 in the morning on April 15th, 1912 after her long fall from the world above!
Rest in peace to all the people who lost their lives in that dredfull day 😔, you will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts ♥️
still gets me everytime. just seeing the bow of that ship just laying there in the darkness of the ocean. its errie incredible and tragic all at the same time. may the lost lives of titanic forever rest in peace
This used to give me a horrid nightmare. I'd crawled up a pipe thing to try to reach the top but the ship sank. The water got higher and higher and i was trapped.
I was somehow alive in a horrible dark cold place full of dead as the ship sank lower and lower.
I always woke up at that point.
I did not pay a single penny and watched the exclusive HD view of the titanic , I can reverse it pause it forward it, thank you for posting, don't waste your money n risk your life. Best way is this.
There is an eerie tranquillity about this place. Such terror, such suffering all those years ago; now the wreckage of the great ship sits shrouded in darkness, bathed in silence, like a monument in the inhospitable black. Slowly being eaten away by tiny creatures, the ship is being returned to the Earth.
Awww look at the rust on it feel sorry for those people who was on the boat
I cried once I started playing it, but then after a while I came to think it is impossible even to have the youngest survivors alive now in 2015. So at least I'm grateful because I still can see RMS Titanic grew very old underneath the ocean and she tells us the tragic story of 103 years ago.
It still haunts and intrigues like nothing else.
After all these years, researchers were stunned to find the Titanic's swimming pool was still full of water.
the ship that people called the unsinkable and challenged God to sink it was sunken by some ice, and this is the most important lesson of this sinking, know your limits as a human, do not challenge nature do not ever think that your mind could do anything
I'm surprised some corporation hasn't put a advertisement on the ship
Who is here in 2024
Watching after 14 year,
I just can’t believe something like the Titanic would even split in half the way it did.. imagine all the survivors coming back to see this there hearts would be broken and it would most likely bring back memories of the good old days when they were on the boat
I'll never forget as this was the very first video I have ever seen about the Titanic. I was messing around on Google Earth, just reading the I survived the sinking of the Titanic book I had randomly picked from the Elementary school scholastic fair they had. Here I am around 15 years later, the music still haunting me and the videos that fueled my historical nerdy side. RMS Titanic, The beginning of me becoming a historical nerd.
Wheres jack?
It's so strange knowing that the titanic, at this very, very, very moment is down there, on it's own, in the middle of nowhere, in darkness, with so much tragedy behind it, so much history behind it, so many traces of souls on it, resting, resting on it's own in darkness, no help, no human contact anywhere, away from civilization, away from the surface where water meets air and the light. Titanics amazing.
woah! i was 2 years old when this video was uploaded
I love this. 2:38 I swear i saw a spine from a skeleton. idk maybe maybe not.
Hi Riley. No, the marine life and conditions that exist at the wrecksite would have destroyed any organic remains decades ago, even down to the bones, but there are clothing items in the debris field, shoes, watches etc
The music gives me the chills 😖
i would love to see titanic for real life :(
I just went to the titanic exhibition it was amazing and sad to think of those who died. Everyone gets a passenger and the lady i got survived and so did her 7 year old daughter sadly her husband did not
So many souls are in that grave underwater, still trapped and can't escape...
its so Erie and jaw dropping to see it and and even after 103 years you can still smell the fresh paint the china has never been used the beds had never been slept in.The titanic was a beautiful ship and it still is.I want to know your guys opinion do you believe in ghosts if so do you believe ghosts wont pass over because they are attached to their personal belongings if so then their is a lot of soles down their resting with the titanic.
They need to go back now, with the HD footage we could get now! Not to mention we could easily make little tiny drones that could search all the rooms!
Near... far.... wherever you are.... I believe that the heart will go ooooooooon....
Today on 5 October 2021 I also pray for the victims of Titanic tragedy. Rest in peace all those🙏💐🙏
15.04.2023 means 111 years have passed since the sinking of the Titanic. It is a great tragedy. My deepest condolences to all those who died in it..
12 years ago youtube is still a thing wow
I had a relative on the titanic he was only 17 when he died it’s a great shame for his loss and everyone else. Such a nice ship r.i.p to all
All that damage just shows exactly how hard she hit the ocean bottom
@keith4291 Me too. Ever sinced I watched the first film in 1986 at the age of six detailing her discovery, I have been fascinated by the Titanic from that very day. Not a day goes by without me thinking about her. One image that has stuck in my mind from that day, is a piece of footage of a light fixture hanging from the ceiling near the grand staircase on A deck and the outline left on the wall by the ornamental clock at the top of the grand staircase .
rip jack
We invite all descendants to join in supporting the restoration of the Titanic Memorial Lighthouse. Proposed opening 110th anniversary April 15, 2022.
this is a very powerful video titanic will always remain in the heart....../
RMS Titanic still looks beautiful and always will
I love these videos but I always feel they don’t do the Titanic justice. I’d need a constant human for scale in the videos because it doesn’t show the magnitude of the ship in this way, sadly.
i want to go under the sea and visit Titanic once in my life
All I know this give me chills everytime I see Titanic
it gives me so much anxiety watching these knowing that over 1000 ppl died in that ship :( and they were there underwater.. think of you being in that situation.....
Imagine someone was left here all alone underwater on this ship now. What reaction they would have?
So sad and terrible story of what happened on the R.M.S Titanic.😢 God bless everyone that was in the terrible disaster. God bless everyone and we will always remember all thoughts people and Titanic😢😢😢.
Jack Dawson was on the Bow of the Titanic
Hauntingly beautiful
We love titanic
It's eerie to think about how much deceased people and bones lay at the bottom of the ocean just in that area as well.
Why did something so beautiful and amazing have to sink?
imagine getting the footage of the Titanic right now.... in the middle of the night
It's amazing to see, though a bit sad too
One thing I can say mostly everyone that’s visits the wreck has done so respectfully.
I watched the untold story's of the titanic on abc last night and i cried. R.I.P
im so glad that atleast they included life boats!
Who's watching in 2017? A whole decade later!
titanic lying into the ground.. so peaceful..
To imagine
Many people were sleeping peacefully , carrying on with their tasks while the ship was sinking in the middle of Atlantic in 1912
It’s sad such a amazing ship ended up 12,500 underwater to her final resting place
We are missing titanic
This video gives me goosebumps :o
Why do I find titanic so fascinating? 😳
@garrvue Even if it could be lifted up, it would completely fall apart. It's beyond rusted and the wooden interior would break at the touch. Not to mention the water pressure it's used to. Even if was possible to bring it up, it would fall apart. However, the most "stable" piece is the front half, because when it sank it adjusted to the water pressure, but the back half quickly had the water pressure forced on to it .
My computer's on mute while I was watching the Video but the tune of "My Heart will Go ON" was ringing in my ears somehow !!!!
It`s sad to see this, especially with the haunting audio. Anytime I review world history where a man made disaster takes place, I always say the same thing. The biggest man made disasters are always caused by two key ingrediants, the stupidity of man and the gullibility of people. The kicker to me is "unsinkable". My father once said to me "You put enough holes in anything it`s gonna sink" RIP to all who parished on the Titanic And to the survivors who lived the nightmare.
i think that most of them are wrong when saying that ship is fragile, you cant say that is for sure, just because its covered in rusticles, maybe will be all wrong, maybe the ship is good structural condition, ignore her apearance now.. im pretty sure if tried raise her she would lift whitout eny big failures, maybe only section when submersible has been are more damaged then other parts.. that doesnt mean that entire structure is collapsing
if only we had been able to raise it in the 80s, it could’ve made it. If only we had maybe found it in the 50s or 60s it would’ve been able to be preserved pretty well. unfortunately we just couldn’t. now it will slowly fade away into nothing and 30 years from now it will never be seen again :(
Nice footage sir titanic my dream completed to see titanic in under water..thank you awesome footage nice experience nice video.🤘👍
I get an ad of cleaning stuff 😂😂
We need to save the ship, bring it to the surface....but i don't know how to do that
It's crazy it landed right side up
I can't believe that happened over 100 years ago :(
I can’t believe she’s been on the ocean floor for 110 years now
footage is haunting and so is the music...
iv always wondered what the car that was abored that ship looks like now
I saw a RUclips presentation by a guy who believed that the Titanic was swapped for its sister ship The Olympic. The Olympic had had a devastating collision with a Navy vessel and the insurers refused to pay out - which would have bankrupt White Star Line. He claimed that the damaged Olympic was refit and passed off as the Titanic, and that it was meant to sink, for various reasons, one of which being the insurance payout.
Omg yeah it so is the Olympic!!
Imagine the pressure
Anyone watching it in quarantine?
I have always wondered how my ancestors were and if one of them got to see or was in the Titanic
I can't believe in 2030 there's going to be nothing left of Titanic...
wow.
except for artifacts they found and preserved in museums.
Good footage. Wonder how much longer it will look as it has for the last 108 years. (We are now in 2020.)
This must have been very cool to see in person
I really want to see people react to this. (The ones that survived)
It's been more than 40,500 days since Titanic was sank!
0:56 The music...😨
