Christina’s murder shook the hearts of many this weekend. The news was heartbreaking and many of her friends were on tour when they heard of her passing and honored Christina as they powered through their emotional performances.
Selena Gomez broke down during her show in Miami on Saturday while performing “Nobody” and apologized to the crowd for not being able to keep her composure. Selena and Christina had been friends since they were teenagers when Selena’s stepfather became Christina’s manager and joined Selena on her “We Own the Night” tour. On Saturday night, Selena dedicated a song to her late friend.
Selena spoke highly of Christina saying QUOTE - "When she was 14, we met her - my parents and I signed her. And one thing about Christina and her family, is that she holds her faith so closely to her. It's not about her religion, and it's not about good deeds. It's just that she had faith.”
While performing at 106.1’s BLI’s summer jam over the weekend, Fifth Harmony also took a moment during the show to pay their respects.
Charli Puth honored Christina during his show as well saying QUOTE - "I was reading the news last night and heard that my good friend Christina Grimmie was killed, and I want to dedicate this song to her tonight. I've been upset about this all day, mainly because I just never got to say what I wanted to say to her, and I feel like this song perfectly captures that."
During their performance in Munich on Saturday, the Pentatonix dedicated their performance of “Light in the Hallway” to Christina along with Scott and Kirsten writing their condolences on social media. Christina’s Voice family released a statement saying QUOTE - “We are heartbroken. [Christina Grimmie] is a loved member of our family. Our thoughts are with her and her family. There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice. Our hearts go out to the friends, fans and family of [Grimmie].”
Several of The Voice judges paid their respects as well with Blake Shelton writing - “I’m stunned and disgusted and heartbroken that we lost that sweet little girl. Keeping [Christina Grimmie’s] family in my heart and mind.”
The Voice’s host, Carson Daly paid his respects writing - So sad about [Christina]. I'm still in shock. She was special. Had IT. Talented. Kind. Funny. Loving. Courageous. We hurt w/ her family. Our artists & families is my territory on #theVoice. I take great pride. Knowing them. Hosting them. Supporting them. It's not TV. It's real.”
Christina’s former coach, Adam Levine shared a sweet photo with Christina saying QUOTE - "I'm sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie.” He continued his sentiments telling E! QUOTE - "Our hearts go out to her family. Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely. She was taken from us too soon. This is yet another senseless act of extreme violence. I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world."
Christina’s brother, Marcus Grimmie later found out that Adam Levine called their mother personally to pay for Christina’s funeral in full as well as their mother’s plane ticket. Marcus shared the generous act of kindness on Facebook writing - “I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away. Now a friend just told me to look at the gofundme page and I see it is at 100k. Words cannot express...literally I have no words.” He went on to say - “I'm so blown away by everything right now. But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten.”
Fellow Voice judge, Pharrel Williams paid his respects writing - "This is a tragic loss. My heart goes out to @therealgrimmie's family, friends and all the people that she touched” while Gwen Stefani sent her regards saying - “I am so shaken by what happened. Sending prayers of Peace to her family.” Christina Aguilera wrote - “So sad passing of [Christina]. Beautiful member of TheVoice family & true Fighter. My heart goes out to her family, friends & fans.”

She was the first youtuber I ever watched, the first singer I was ever a fan of, and I've always wondered why she wasn't more famous than she was. Say whatever you want, but she really wasn't as famous as you might think. And now when she died suddenly the whole world knows about her, and I can't help but feel bad about it because she deserved this fame while she was still alive. I know her goal wasn't to become famous and rich and stuff, but to be able to get her music out to people, and she really deserved to get to do that. Before she died too few people cared about her, people forgot about her, and now everyone suddenly miss her. I just wish everyone could have shown Christina how much she meant while she was still alive... She was seriously the sweetest person ever, she didn't deserve this. Team Grimmie rawwks

I just can't believe this has happened. Honestly, it doesn't feel real. I did think it was all a hoax made up by haters at first, but then I saw the news report and my jaw dropped. Silent for minutes, burst into tears the next. I just... (there are no words). I always felt like she was trying to make her way into the world. RUclips first, then meeting with celebs, then the voice (and loads in between), she was getting there and I knew one day she would be HUGE! But this has happened. And it should not have happened. Where the hell was the security?! I hope they weren't just thinking 'oh, it's just some little pop star, we don't need the security levels like we'd have for Miley Cyrus and whatnot'. It makes me SO angry. Christina had so much talent! We can't lose people like this! It's not fair, she had so much more to give. I can just see her screaming at the world to bring her back, like she shouldn't have left, it was too early. Honestly, I just cannot believe it. BUT getting back to your comment, it's true. I'll be telling some friends how devastated I am and they'll probably say 'whos that?' and then everyone will only know of her because of her death and that's not right :'(

I was heartbroken... I've been watching her since she started RUclips and constantly voted for her on The Voice. Her voice brought chills and always made me somehow feel better. I still haven't accepted that she is gone. I may not of personally known her, but I felt like I have.

I can't even believe she is gone, in the past few years I watched as Whitney Houston, Prince, and Michael Jackson all passed away, but of all of those the one that I will miss the most is Christina Grimmie. I think of all the celebrity deaths hers was probably one of the biggest losses because she was just beginning her career. I started following her back in 2009, her music helped me through a lot of tough times.
yup, while all those guys were legends in their own right, they got to live out their lives, they already got to the top. what makes christina's death more tragic was things were just starting to work out for her. i've followed her career off and on since she was just singing songs in her room and i just knew her as that zelda girl. it was really cool that she finally started having some success with her own albums and going on tours and stuff. sigh.. it's always more tragic when a young person dies before they reach their potential. my condolences to her family RIP grimmie

Yes, Christina is definitely the one I miss the most. Not only was she still very young and just beginning her career, but she was extremely talented and possessed a very unique and beautiful voice. Everything she touched turned to gold. Over the years there's been several songs that I don't like the original versions of, but when Christina sang them I suddenly fell in love with her version of them. Christina was also beautiful inside and out. She was genuinely kind and thoughtful and she was also a very happy person who always dared to be herself. She was also very intelligent. To those of us who had followed her career and her progress for years, she was already a big star, but I haveno doubt that if she had lived longer, she would have become famous all over the world within a few more years. Christina was incredibly special and the world will never recover from her loss. No one can ever take her place and there will never be another one like her. Unfortunately, though, many people might never know what they have lost. I am happy though that Christina's legacy is continuing and that her family is keeping her channel running and even posting new videos and releasing the many previously unreleased songs that Christina had completed in the months before she died.

i was at UCF in Orlando when she died, i was 26 years old with one year of school left. When i heard Christina Grimmie was coming to Orlando i thought, "wow i remember seeing her on youtube a while back, she is really famous now" then i thought "i wish i could have known what i wanted to do with my life that efficiently and early on in life".. I was shocked to learn later she was killed, and i was so disappointed to learn it was in my hometown.

I have been sobbing every night since her death. I don't want her legend to die down, nor me to forget her brilliance, so I watched covers and videos of her amazing talent every night. Yet when I do this, I brake down and sob, I do not know what to do. I demand gun control, people are taken away from us so easily, good people. Like Christina Grimme, a beautiful, talented, amazing person. She gave me the encouragement to start singing when I was nine years old, I am now a teenager and continuously living my dream. She is in a better place now, singing above. I am glad that her story encouraged so many people, and I hope it always will. Although I never knew her, she is a part of who I am, and who many people are today.

I knew her since I was 10. I'm 15 now, she inspired me. I looked up to her everyday ever since I was little.
Even a year after her death, I still can't comprehend her death, she was such a beautiful person, such a beautiful singer, and every interview I had seen of hers, she seemed like such a caring person. I still miss her and still listen to 'My anthem', 'Bet you don't curse god' and 'Lair lair' daily (most of the time) and 'Clouds' by before you exit. I know her fan base misses her still so very much and as someone who had been a fan of her since the voice, it still breaks my heart that someone with such talent and so much care could be the victim of such a senseless act of violence.

I couldn't believe it when I heard the news. I still can't. Three years ago, I stumbled upon a cover by Christina and because of her, I felt encouraged to learn the piano and practice singing. She'll always be an inspiration to me, as she was and is an inspiration to many.

It's been 3 yrs, and I'm still heartbroken by this. I loved Christina Grimmie. Watched her from basically the VERY beginning. And I connected with her because of our Faith in Christ Jesus. But there's good news... While it IS TRUE, that death is NO RESPECTER of youth, or person, and it is a constant and pernicious reminder of our human condition, there IS HOPE, and REASON TO REJOICE. Because of THE FACT that Jesus IS NO LONGER Entombed, and because He Lives, Christina lives. She is still GREATLY missed today here on Earth, yes. But, she IS ALIVE! SHE IS NOT DEAD! For she now lives in Heaven with our Heavenly Father.

Most Americans only give a shit about what happens to their country, they don't know much about the world around them as with other nations. This death was so tragic because she was a very young person full of potential and her life was cruelly cut short because of anothers selfish decision (as with babies in the womb). Every time I am reminded on her passing I am moved to tears. I have rarely been hit this hard by a persons death, but with Christina I have been watching her videos and it felt like I knew her. For some reason I felt so close to her and I just can't help but to feel as though a part of me was torn. This girl had so much life and talent. I just hope the best for her family and for all of those affected by the loss of her spirit.

i think the saddest part was that she had her arms open wide to hug her shooter, she was sending love to everybody as an indivdual at her signing and she was shot for it. Such a beautiful girl in all aspects of the word beauty. Not only physocal but also her heart and soul. So much talent and so much love. Prince was a music ICON yet they still talked about Madonna's tribute and what other celebrities had to say about his death. Gregory Pabst Clevver normally does not film on weekends. Christina died on Saturday, so Clevver had to wait 2 days until they were back in the studio. Prince died on a Thursday, so they were able to cover his death right away.

Such a beautiful, talented young lady that was taken from us in such a horrible and senseless way. This breaks my heart and it makes me sick that this happened to her. I'm still so shocked over it, just doesn't even seem real. How could someone do this? I don't understand it. I also don't understand why there was no security whatsoever at this venue!! I know she wasn't a huge star like... Taylor Swift or someone like that, but still....The fact that they had zero security, I just don't understand that. Especially when she was signing autographs and doing meet & greets. Why didn't they have a couple of police officers standing by or anything?? Shame on that venue for not providing more security not only for the singers that go there to perform, but for everyone's protection. This might have been prevented.

I watched all of her videos and absolutely adored every single one. t didn't click until the other day that I realised that the poor girl that was killed over the weekend was her. Deepest condolences to her family. So heart breaking RIP
