Bower decided to follow the idea that the debate is about the merits or lack thereof of Tony Blair, while Aronovich decided to debate the merits of Tom Bower.
David gives me the impression that even as a child he was always angry about something and was convinced that his opinions are the rights ones and bullied anyone who disagreed.
Isn't it interesting that Tom simply recalls fact, answers questions and responds completely from memory, whereas Aeronovitch is desperately scrabbling about with various dog eared notes like some 45 year old sixth former
1646. No they were not fooled - Blair was a hero to politicians, because his success at lying was a lesson to them all. Liars worship good liars, though why any ordinary person couldn't see through Blair from the first time they saw his eyes and postures and whining voice remains a mystery to me.
Blair’s appointment after John Smith gave us hope for fairness for all . Unfortunately he failed , and turned into an arrogant , self serving egoist .now has a name of Bliar , for indeed that’s what he turned into ,So sad he let us all down .God forgive him
After 1 hour and 9 minutes, finally someone mentioned the Dr David Kelley business. It was hardly discussed. Would anyone like to add to this? I personally find it astonishing that this matter was almost completely ignored.
We didn’t need the GFA the Security Forces had got the IRA at the table agreeing a full unconditional surrender. Then Blair got in and wanted to overturn anything good done by the conservatives to get his own name in lights so he introduced the GFA which included releasing over 200 IRA murderers back on the streets of Ireland. The numbers of dead from the troubles tells the whole story. Approximately 3600 dead, 360 security forces, 1100 Protestant Irish, 2400 Catholic Irish. So to Nationalise Ireland the IRA murdered about 3,300 of its own people… who paid the real price?
+John whyte To the country. His policies are not in the national interest. They seem based more on his own ideological and emotional needs than that of the nation.
Tom bower was spot on when he said it's a theme of blairites to attack the critic not the critique. Call them a (insert nasty name) and they won't argue then.
I think, from what I see and hear, if you did a poll to ask people's opinions on Blair, you wouldn't find many who support him. However, people like Diane Abbott can see the good in Mao, so there is hope for him!
Bower is hugely guilty of cherry picking his criticisms. Just compare everyone of Blair’s successors as prime minister to this date. We are now crying out for someone of his drive, vision and political acumen.
Aaranovich makes the same off-putting mistake that other lefties tend to do. We get tellings off, as if we are the lesser. Aaranovich displays annoyance, emoting negatively, rather than just debating.
I wonder if David Aaronovitch was offered a job in Europe when Blair becomes president. Fast forward to today.......... oh, that ain't going to happen!

what's more, he was a Stalinist in his younger years, an avowed Marxist. I guess a leopard does change its spots

Wish we were warned about his true character

Aaronovich's opening gambit is more a book review than a defence of Blair.

1:11: 20. "If you'll forgive me, we'll not going to do David Kelley's death"
How many inquiry’s do you need to accept he committed suicide?
Dear Dr David Kelly did not take his own life.
Wasn't it actually Mo Mollan who did all the hard work in brokering the Good Friday agreement.
Indeed, Blair did not acknowledge, nor did the media, the immense success of Mo Mowlam's Irish diplomacy.
@@paulmitchell5349 tbf, that's not true. Blair strongly acknowledged Mo and said that without her, it never would've happened
Nah it was Jeremy Corbyn
😂

Spot on Tom.
If only it was a real trial, set in the Hague.
He’d be found not guilty
Oh this was a real trial, just not on his life but his entire species and inbred allies
@@BattlestarZenobia False, he was found guilty.
If this is about Tony Blair? We regard him as a murderer! Has gallons of blood on his hands!
So , it is wrong for overworked doctors and nurses to have a reduction in hours?
Cameron should be put on trial too. He is a traitor.
To whom? He isn't a traitor to his lot I'm sure

Just Internet people overreacting again. Nvm them
Aaronovich is as arrogant as always here.

one argument doesnt hold water try another and another and hope the original justification is forgotten

Bower is guilty of telling the unvarnished TRUTH, rather not hear that eh.
We’ve being crying out for years , well before Blair for a decent leader with integrity
My mum always told me Politics and Politicians are filthy
Now in 2022 read the book “ Dispelling Wetiko “ immediately thought of Blair , this man has blood on his hands no doubt
blair did this did that did the other and they were good but he is also a war criminal
Blair propelled not just Labour but England into modernity. Tom Bower is an obvious myth builder who makes the Daily Mail proud.
Blair? What a false claim if I may say. A sharp dealing ducker and diver without an ounce of integrity.
Glad I waited, and didn't pay to watch on Curzon demand.
Blairites twisting facts? Really? I always believe everything Alastair Campbell says. He's such an honest decent man!.........I'll get my coat!
🤣😂🤣

Dreadful debate.
Third guy in from my left. Seems obsessed with London schools and no other. ???? Couldn’t listen to a word he said after that.
Why was TB not invited to this
Because that’s not the format 🙄
did he say 'islamic attack on new york'?!
yep, i heard him say that as well. Probably meant "Islamist"
In the age of "Big Data" there's something increasingly antiquated about the adversarial style.
Or perhaps that's just me.
+SimplyGimpy Beat up your opponents with solid data instead words. That could be a game changer.
"grade inflation"? That's a new one. Any substance to the grade inflation suggestion?

We got you.
39:20 liar or stupid man, likely both. Especially via Kosovo mentioning.
Penny for Pm 🇬🇧
I remember you, JEW.
Go ahead and prosecute me.
The thing is, I'm just a nobody
, and you are a BIG JEW. What could I possibly say against you?
i miss Tony blair
Indeed. Reload and adjust your sights - they’re probably off.
You sad human.
Where does the Jew propose to live?
excuse me
What are you trying to say
I have special treatment because I'm a Jewwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Why isn't David Aranovitch on trial too. One of the wars leading cheerleaders...
