Great vid, I'm maybe missing a trick here. If I say allow notifications from these say 10 people I add them and all good. If I however then go into the add apps section is this saying these ten people can contact me through these apps I then select? Or is it saying select apps that you still want to function regardless of the 10 people selected? Emails still find their way through which I really don't want in a focus mode, I don't select any of the two accounts I have in the filter option. Any pointers to a focus mode newbie is much appreciated, thank you.
The problem is even though I pick the people who I want alerts and text from on favorites. I still get texts alerts sounds from people who I didn’t pick. How do I fix that on my iPhone 16 on work focus and sleep mode
Did you tap the ellipsis (three dots)? Once you do that, I think the until-end-of-event option will show if the Apple Calendar app knows you are in an event right now or will be in one soon. I'm not sure what triggers the location option.
also another thing is it doesnt let people know what focus mode you have on it just lets them know you have notifications silenced one reason to turn off focus modes for apps is that it lets people get through anyway unless you turn off focus modes per person through contact info or altogether through the focus settings
If you really wanted it to be about "day" vs. "night", you'd probably need to use the Shortcuts app. But if you're fine with the switch happening when you put your iPhone into the Sleep focus, go into the Sleep focus settings -> Focus Filters -> Silent Mode.

What does allowed people only mean when you create custom focus modes
Notifications that are messages from those people are an exception, so they will get through.
