Thank you John for this beautiful video. I can't tell you how much I appreciate thoughtful videps like this, especially against the backdrop of an endless sea of gear-centered channels. Your videos are actually about photography. Love your work.
I just discovered your channel via Ted Forbes. I was first introduced to Smith by Walter Rosenblum's younger daughter, who gave me his Aperture monograph when I was about 17. After looking through its early pages for a couple of minutes, I had to put it down, so overwhelming was it. In the fifty odd years since, I have never tired of returning to his work; it always inspires. Thank you for your tribute, and contributing to the immortality of his spirit.
I will teach my first photography workshop next week. John, your words make me feel like all of us that have a passion for photography are connected in some way. I wouldn't want any other kind of life.Thank you John.

I met Robert Frank in 1994 as well, he was the first major photographer I ever met - via Allen Ginsberg, who was my teacher. I agree. Thank you, John!
