I haven't tried Duke Cannon, but now I'm curious. I've also been meaning to try out some of the products from Bravo Sierra. Those guys at Bravo Sierra market to active duty military, so they are pretty minimalist.
I've used many of their products, specifically the soaps and beard oil/balm. I love the value of the bar soaps and products generally, and so far my absolute favorites have been the beer soaps! I also like their flagship offerings of Accomplishment, Productivity, Naval Supremacy, and Victory. Their bourbon soap isn't bad either. I absolutely love the beard oil, and the balm is good too. I'd like to try the deodorant, but I don't see the value in it that the bar soaps have
Chrispy Things I’ve gone through a bar of the bourbon soap...good stuff! I’m currently on a bar of Fresh Cut Pine which is nice as well. I had the same problem with the deodorant: I twisted the plastic cap to remove it and some of the product came off with it. I emailed them to let them know what happened and specifically said I didn’t want a new one, I’d make due, and they sent me a new one anyway. Very friendly! I have a shampoo puck I’m about to start, do you keep the tin in the shower? I’m afraid it would get rusty.
I care about quality and it’s hard to find at most retail stores. But I noticed some individual stores are experimenting with stuff you typically find online. Years ago I switched with more traditional shave soaps and learned how to lather with a brush. The selection is overwhelming and some of the high end stuff is worth the money.
I currently have the Duke Cannon Hot Shave warming gel, the Natural Charcoal Deodorant Bergamot & Black Pepper which smells amazing, and also the Grunt Powder Foot & Boot spray that I just purchased tonight. Great products. Look into Cremo and Bulldog whom also have great products and also products from No. 7 Men, M Skin Care, and lastly Harry's products are also good.
Love DC. Got 7 of the bars. Old glory solid cologne and body wash. Also the Randolph spray cologne, bergamot/black pepper deodorant, and the gold rush puck. So long HBA department!
Just bought some soap from them. Got some smaller bars from them as gifts for Christmas and honestly have been using those over my Old Spice bodywash. As far as flowery soaps/the picture shown. They do make soap for men. It's not all lavender scrubs at Walmart. Although I don't doubt the pucks being nicer.
Great product I first tried there beard balm about 3 month ago smells really good. Recently bought the deodorant Sandlewood the brown container and dry ice powder body spray again love there scent. Two things about the deodorant: 1) The non-antiperspirant version is more of a gel similar to a lot of drugstore deodorants you see in stores. So if the consistency of it is your main issue, I'd recommend that one. 2) I had the same issue with the top of the antiperspirant breaking, but I emailed them about it and had another one shipped out, free of charge, within 30 minutes or so. Amazing customer service from them. My takes on a few of the products I've tried: Body washes: Tried the Productivity, Naval Supremacy, and Accomplishment scents. Naval supremacy is my favorite with accomplishment right behind it. The productivity one, while smelling great in the bottle, has very little aroma in the shower, which was a big let down. Bar soaps: Haven't used any of them in the shower personally, but I got my brother the IPA bar and he loves it. I got the productivity and victory scents, productivity is very similar to the body wash, while the victory is very strange, has a woodsy scent but also has something weirdly sweet about it (closest thing I can describe it as is almost a licorice scent) not really my thing. Hair stuff: Tried the barrel char puck as well, personally not my favorite scent, but it definitely lasts a while. The anchorman charcoal shampoo feels very nice, but has a super weird, almost a slightly sour yogurt scent to it. Might just be the one I got, but the scent while in my hand is very off putting. The anchorman conditioner is AMAZING, super nice minty scent, and while the scent doesn't really last out of the shower, it leaves a very tingly sensation like a lot of mint products do, this one is definitely recommended, especially now that they sell it at target for $10 a bottle as opposed to $15. Face stuff: The standard issue face wash is decent, feels nice but I haven't used it enough to comment on the long term changes it makes to your face (same goes with the coal miner face wash). The quick buff face scrub is another great product, exfoliates very well and on top of that, the peppermint in it gives an amazing cooling feeling. The moisturizer I can't compare to others at a similar price point, but it feels kind of oily and leaves your face with a bit of a shine initially. The lip balms are both great though, make your lips feel great along with giving off the cooling feeling because of the mint once again. Of all of this, my favorite product and the one that converted me to the brand was their aftershave, it is absolutely amazing. Makes your face feel ice cold, especially after a hot shave, leaves your skin moisturized, and has an amazing scent, got a lot of compliments from friends when I'd wear it, and convinced a bunch of them to get it for themselves. Next on the list of things I want to try from them are their solid colognes, heard mixed reviews for the liquid ones, but the solid balms seem really interesting, and I'd love to be able to smell naval supremacy all day, only problem is they don't have a sample option, so I have to just take a gamble on the scents and hope I like them. One question for you, not sure if you've tried the field mint puck, but does it leave your head with the same tingly feeling because of the mint? If so, I'll 100% buy it, but I don't want to drop the money on it if I know it's not what I'm looking for. Anyways, thanks for the video! Land smells decent and is strong, just too strong to wear right now in the summer. Air kind of smelled like a grandmas living room to me, but my dad loved it so I gave it to him. Midnight swim has an amazing dark, semisweet scent, but the performance on it is pisspoor, can barely smell it in the tin let alone my skin. None of them are bad, especially for the $20 price tag, but I'd rather save my money and get a more expensive, higher quality fragrance to wear. My biggest gripe in all of this is that they not only don't have samples available, but they also don't give a note breakdown, making it impossible to get an idea of what you're going to smell. They're okay overall, but definitely not something I'm going to buy again.
I have the bourbon soap, love the scent of it. I do have the scrubber you out the soap in it, don't really like it that much, I have to spend a good amount of time to get the soap to build up outside of the scrubber, and it runs out quick, so I have to restart.
I had a question. Does the beer soap, and any other soap they have that smells like alchohol, smell like alchohol? And you answered it great I would hate to tell a cop that I havent been drinking, it's my soap! But per your review Im going to try it!
Love Duke Cannon. The Buffalo Trace is amazing. Still rockling that. I would check out victory and also naval supremacy if I were you. Not overpowering scents but very manly. I also ordered the thick shower gel set and one of them is called "Old Glory" I'll let you know how that is.
@@ChrispyThings No problem. I can honestly say Old Glory is my favorite smell. It's the same scent as their Leaf and Leather bar soap. Also I know you like Sandalwood. Another one of their shower gels, Accomplishment, is citrus and sandalwood scent
Dr Squatch is a good product, really liked most of the different bars of soap that I tried from them, but you don't get as much product for the money as you do with Duke Cannon, that and the smell doesn't stay with you as long. Both companies products get me clean without drying my skin, but Dr Squatch, their soap is much smaller in size and seems to deplete a good bit quicker. I'm just speaking from my experience, I usually go back and forth between products from both retailers but so far I give a slight edge to Duke Cannon.
I started this because I was sick of Dove soap and whatever shampoo they have at retail stores. I figured there must be something better out there. And I was right. Lol
Really liked your down to earth review. You should order some soap from theSoapGuy and compare that to these big name brands. I've heard that he sells his product to them and they repackage and redistribute them under their own name
So why is it searching duke cannon shampoo puck and you are the only video that pops up.. lots of videos on the thick line of products and mixed reviews. I am going to give the barrel charr a try per your recommendation. I like the small size for all my camping adventures.
I find the soap review interesting. It would be nice to have review of different brand of soap. If you ever try shaving soap I suggest Cella it smell like cherry and almond.
This was my second episode of “Guy Things” something new I’ve been trying. The first episode was the Bearsville Soap Company. Still one of my favorites. I’m still debating on whether or not to continue because it doesn’t seem like many people are interested in my “man products” videos.

I got their solid cologne in light musk and neroli and of smells great. Im satisfied with it so far.

I have the bourbon soap, love the scent of it. I do have the scrubber you out the soap in it, don't really like it that much, I have to spend a good amount of time to get the soap to build up outside of the scrubber, and it runs out quick, so I have to restart.
I agree, the scrubber is nice and all. But it doesn't lather well. I just took the soap out and use it by its self.
Now you know why Duke Cannon named them The Big A** Brick Of Soap

The barrel char puck? I described it in the video. It’s a little like a bourbon sandlewood and a very small hint of spicy charcoal. It smells awesome.
