Charles Mc Cord was such a talented, funny, and nice man. He was key to the success of the IMUS in the Morning Show from it's inception. Wrote some incredible bits.
I’m sure like a lot of us I’ve been watching all the clips of the good ole days of Bernie on imus and I’ve been laughing my butt off, Bernie gone but never forgotten RIP
McCord and McGuirk were responsible for the success of the 'Imus in the Morning' program: Especially McCord who wrote most of the comical bits that the show aired.
Just watched a RUclips video of Imus on C-Span (April 21, 1994) and man did Charles have a great voice! I'm from Atlanta, but that show was everything I always imagined great radio to be!
Charles McChord, I still am comforted and amazed by your "ways with words" and the rich timbre of your voice. Your sensibilities as an intelligent commentator are sorely missed❤😊😊❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
@@leedevereaux7644 Stern was 100% right about one thing on Imus. His New Mexico Ranch was just a big scam pulled on his advertisers and all the others that were seeking positive feedback. Charles could have written a book on all of Imus's shenanigans over the years like Buskin did to Carson But Charles was just too classy and his silence was deafening.
Imus was the big star, these were all just bit players that made the show better. And the I-man, vacillating, unprincipled political weasel that he was, shouldn't have been fired over the nappy headed h o s comment. Just maybe fined or something. Not a big deal.
Surrounding yourself with talent is imperative in any job. Imus eventually got the perfect blend when he had McCord, Mike Breen, McGuirk, and Lou Ruffino, along with Rob Bartlett and Larry Kenney. That was when IITM was at its best.

Just loved Imus in the Morning. Listened everyday on the way to work!

YES 😢😢😢😢😢 REST IN POWER BM MISS U SO MUCH ALREADY
You mean, beejeesz! What a talent! RIP Bernie!
Where’s the FULL interview?????
Bernard was the morning show like they said at his memorial--so Mr. Ego wouldn't let that be on in my opinion
Holy crap. I had no idea Bernie had passed!
Imus, after his self proclaimed trainwreck of a speech at The Correspondent Dinner, said some of the must gut wrenching jokes were written by Charles.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Without Bernie, I have No interest to listen to the program.
No kidding--I feel the same way--when he was out I would tune in to another station
Charles REALLY does not like Imus. Imus apparently screwed him out of $1,000,000.
Heard was close to 2million
Imus sold Charles out when Fox Business wanted Connell McShane to replace Charles.
@@jameshoran8 Agreed…but it seems Charles was sold for $0.

Charles and Bernard were great, but Imus gave them the opportunity.
