    Ubisoft should develop a new franchise within this universe that focuses on Isu/gods stories for those that love the fantasy/mythical stuff and continue with the old historical/mostly grounded AC games for those of us that still want that. They will make money from both fan bases that way.

    • @blairschutte4972
      @blairschutte4972 2 года назад +38

      This is the Isu story, what is happening in Asgard is the character in the future processing Odin's memories in a way their mind can relate to it (they understand the Isu were like gods, so this is how they appear). So the whole Ragnarok, is the fall of the Isu in their final moments when the original solar flare hits.

      Assassins Creed has always kinda been mythology though. They have historical figures, and names and locations, but they really liked to keep mystical stuff a thing throughout the series. And if it wasn’t seen, then it was talked about. But now they’re dipping way back into the past so now they’re bringing all that mystical stuff into light because they spent so many games talking about it. It’s actually pretty cool how they ended up actually doing all that for so longs and now we can play those stories they set up

      Let's not kid ourselves, Assassins Creed was always a high fantasy setting. Technically, this makes sense in the AC Universe. There have always been 'some' supernatural elements in Assassins creed, they where just very 'subdued' and kept in the background, while 'historical accuracy' took more of a forefront. However, the closer you get to truly ancient, medieval settings featuring oldschool deities, the closer you are (Canonically speaking) to the actual Ancients that where screwing around on earth, the Isu. Minerva gives alot of exposition on this.
      For example, Ezios entire story takes a turn for the supernatural when it becomes apparent that there is a literal overlap where he influences his ancestors, in their time period, while they influence him, in the future. He's causing a time paradox that is purely explained away by the fantastical abilities of the Isu and the knowledge aswell as exposure to these 'magical artifacts' called pieces of eden that made this possible.
      All the future games did was expand on this baseline. Thematically, it even makes alot of sense to consider the 'ancient gods' to be some form of lesser Isu. Humans, imbued with incredible powers by the pieces of eden and Isu technology, while fending of people of the same ilk. The artifacts are basically the 'Infinity Glove' of the AC Universe. They're that powerful.
      Now, another well established fact in AC is this: The DLC usually expands on the mythological and fantastical aspects of the time periods. Whether it was in Unity with the Crypts and Ghosts, Origins with it's fights against mythical beasts, atlernative and fantastical historical realities, Jack the Ripper, you name it. Even Da Vinci is turned into some sort of Tony-Stark esque genius that fashions you highly functional assassination gear.

Looked like Ubi needed to jump on the remake trend ASAP and gave it to one of their crappy Ubi studios to make and it looks very very questionable. It's been put on halt/delayed again so I'm guessing the backlash it got and the years of other AAA games being heavily criticised (Cyberpunk, GTA trilogy remaster) scared them a bit and they are redoing a bit of the PoP remake again. The Ezio trilogy was a really poor remaster too. Their flagship games looked like they had no loving update to them. Ubi just do Ubi.
