Laura with peaks 4 pounds had to call off her hike due to a Staph infection from chafing. Keep a close eye on it and get meds sooner rather than later.

When I wear shorts on a super hot day and start chaffing, I put strips of KT tape on my inner thighs. Life saver!!

Great on tent set up. Did you actually add the longer ties or did the tent come that way? I think it was Zpaks where I saw some tent platform anchors, but you did great without those!

I am a new NH AT 😇. I do not advertise on traditional sources. Instead, I personally select who I am willing to assist for my own personal safety reasons. You and especially Leo made need some help as you traverse NH. Since I am familiar with most of the AT/NH route intersections, we can arrange to meet anywhere between Hanover and Shelburne. I do have a very good AT through hiker reference on RUclips if you are interested.😇
As of now, you have advertised to nearly 2000 people and given us your location. I'm just saying that if you're concerned about safety, seems like there's a better way to offer assistance.

Great idea using sticks. I have seen other hikers using their tent stakes in a similar way. Take care of the rash. Another hiker got infection from a rash and had to leave trail.
A zip lock back of gold bond medicated powder is so worth the extra grams of weight. Knocks out chaffing and rash.

You're going to need something tougher than body glide to help with the chafing. Desenex, Vaseline, A & D ointment, Boudrous Butt paste, etc. With what you've described, you can get staph in that area.
I was going to suggest Butt Paste too! It works good!
Any kind of diaper meds or zinc paste.

Be careful because the heat will catch you before you realize it. I work at a 911 center and the heat calls are starting to increase each day. Did Leo get in the water with you?

The .2 to the Killington summit is worth it but it is steep! I slacked up from the platforms then picked up my other equipment on the way back down. There were bathrooms and water up top and a great view. Good luck heading to NH and hopefully the weather cooperates in the Whites!

Your were definitely blessed by a Trail Angel today!! Please make sure to add electrolytes to your drinking water, can dogs have electrolytes? Ramdino uses LMNT electrolytes … White Admiral butterflies are beautiful, they are a northern species… 17 miles is absolutely nothing to frown about! Thank goodness for the cold plunge! … keep pushing those miles …Hike on…
Dogs cannot have electrolytes like what we drink, but a plain beef bone broth powder is a good equivalent for them.
No electrolytes, but adding some powdered chicken broth or beef broth into their water works really well if they are not wanting to drink.
I’ve also added a little plain applesauce and they love that!
