  • Here is a quick overview of the shotgun that I'll be using this year for turkey hunting. The Beretta A400 Xtreme Plus in 12 gauge. This shotgun shoots really fast and is easy to operate. I'm going to use the Optima extended full choke it came with and Winchester Long Beard XR 3 1/2 inch number 5 shot.

    I got the same toy. Got pattern master Turkey choke and never disappoints me. Every bang & Turkey is in the bag

      Glad I could provide some data to help you make your decision. I can't say anything negative about the the sbe3 because I don't have one. My a400 patterns good with Winchester long beard xr. The 3.5 inch 1200 feet per second 2 oz number 5. Good luck and I hope you kill your limit of Turkeys this year.

      Have you ever tried apex ninjas or any other tss in the factory optima hp full choke?

    Thanks for your video. I’ve been debating sticking with 12 gauge; and purchasing this Beretta vs. moving to sub gauges. You could help me by firing 3 1/2 inch turkey loads from a sitting position. I fired a friends 3 1/2”; and I swore I’d buy a 10 gauge before I fired another 3 1/2 inch shell. Then another friend suggested the A400 Extreme might offer a solution.

      I shoot 3 1/2 inch Winchester long beard with 2 oz number 5. Box says 1200 fps. The recoil is nothing out of this gun. Fast follow up shots etc...I highly recommend this shotgun. Also check my playlist for the disassembly and cleaning. The gun is easy to care for and really tough. Good luck on your Turkey hunting.

      Of course. Please subscribe if you haven't already, I'm not making money on this, I'm only doing it for fun and to share information with others. Also, if after I post the video you have any questions or I leave anything out that you want to know drop me a comment and I'll try and answer.
      Update... I added the disassembly and cleaning video to my channel. Please let me know if this was a help.

    I use the same thing Beretta Xtreme 2 391 26in barrel patternmaster choke tube Winchester 3.5 5 shot. Is the best turkey gun I've ever shot in the world I haven't found any better

      I missed one this morning with this setup. Well I didn't completely miss. Knocked him down feathers everywhere and while I was getting up to walk over to him he jumped up and flew off. I don't think it was the gun or the ammo. Just to far and I got excited and rushed it when it looked like he spotted me and start going the other way. These birds are tough.

      Well that happens when you rush any gun . if you're not going to hold on the Target and know that you're going to kill it you shouldn't even of shot at it that makes the gun and ammo look bad cause of your mistake. And shooting at something not knowing you're a hundred percent for sure you're going to kill it it's kind of foolish I wouldn't even have told nobody you missed or knocked one down I would have kept that to myself and learn from it.

      Lol I'm sure I'm not the only one that has missed. And for the record I didn't blame the gun or ammo. I know it was me. If you've never missed I need to go hunting with you. I'm sure I could learn a lot.

    How does I pattern with the factory full with Turkey loads? Have you felt the need to upgrade to a designated turkey choke?

    • @southeastwhitetails
      @southeastwhitetails  6 месяцев назад

      RUclips won't let me reply for some reason with the what I want to say. In short there is no reason to upgrade the factory chokes.

      What a horrible platform this is for free speech. Sorry I can't seem to give information about the number of birds or the load I was using etc...

      @@southeastwhitetails that’s what I thought would be the case. The factory chokes have all grouped incredibly well for me for duck hunting. I just haven’t tested the full choke out yet.

      @@southeastwhitetails wow, that’s crazy! I had a great sea duck season with mine. Just this year I switched from a browning bps to an a400 extreme plus. I could not shoot that bps well at all. I switched to a 28” a400 and it feels like I can’t miss with this thing.
