Tbf, £106k in 2009 is the equivalent of about £158k now. So realistically the price has gone up about £12k in a bit over a decade (and a bit more if you want horrendous paint)
Congratulations Matt! I own an Audi R8 V10 (2011) and have driven over 120k kilometers (75k miles) with it on the Autobahn mostly (so not too slow most o the time) and it has been reliable as ever. The only Issue i had was often being stopped by the French Police near the Border towards Metz from Germany to check my Papers. I guess they just like to stop Sportscars there. But that's about it. Prost & Cheers from Germany
This reminds me of my Dad who once bought loads of green paint (must have been going cheap) so for the next decade anytime anything needed painting - the doors, window frames, the gate, the rain gutters - even the chairs in the house they all got that same shade of green paint. It was the same shade as that Audi too - I am sure he would have loved it.
Thank you to the carwow audio team, the post processing has been far better on recent videos - things like removing the high pass filters. Engine sounds are far better!

Yes! I’m had many convertibles and they are great. I don’t care if people say the feel strange in corners because of the missing roof structure. The sound and sun in your face is worth it!
I think the only issue that literally stands out is the lack of seating space for the driver! However, if there was no issue about a driver's available seating space where comfort is needed, I think that the whole driving experience would be a whole lot better! Great video, best regards...
Somebody reversed into the front end of my Passat last year. The cosmetic damage was tiny and I would’ve just let it go however as the women kept shouting at me and being generally rude, repeatedly telling me she had “a brand new BMW”, I made a point of taking her details. Good job I did as the front radar and some of the parking sensors went insane on the trip home. Massive repair that cost her insurance a small fortune, and I got my front bumper resprayed so no more stone chips. Moral of the story is always take their details, however minor the damage seems.

It must be really handy all that power in 10mph London! 23.6 mpg wow! My diesel 3008 over 5 years has averaged 58 mpg and it’s 130 hp is more than sufficient for Britains roads seeing as we can never go faster than 70 mph anywhere in the country without a speed camera catching you.

I’m 6’ 4” and never been able to fit in any generation of the R8. Head is always pressed into the roof and legs are uncomfortably bent. Thankfully the G80 M3 is the comfiest car I’ve ever been in for tall people. Absolutely lovely fitment
Single tuned springs always preferable to adaptive dampers… which tend to be too soft or too hard and they overheat when driven hard. Tune the dampers for the perfect use case and leave them there. That's what the X73 suspension on the Porsche 981 series did so well..
Nice choice, definitely. Btw in 1:29 11.7s isn't actually the best time. The S8 has actually done 11.4s on some other drag races on Carwow before (such as S8 vs RS6 drag race). This car may be slightly different to the particular S8 on that drag race (because Mat's S8 is actually the facelift version), but they are almost the same car technically, so 11.4s is actually the fastest.

if you think the car was rammed on the xmas trip you should see us on our ski trip in our A8 - 4 people, with skis and boots and suitcases....all INSIDE the car (no roof racks). the interior is so large its possible to get skis in between the rear passengers and have them resting on the driver armrest. ok, we are lucky in that we are not tall so the skis are not too long . vastly improves the fuel economy and wind noise on the 950 mile trio to the alps (44mpg. fully loaded)

I think it would look better with a slight dash of clearcoat, a satin finish. That way it matches much better with the other finishes. It's a great color combo though. And yes Porsche does this alot. It's a classic combo.

My daily driver is an 03 Awd Honda Element, I put the 19 in wheels on from the 2017 Accord sport. Those wheels make me smile every time I see the car. The gas mileage your Audi got is as good/better btw, I get about 22mpg

I’ve just got a convertible for the summer and I’ve loved it. Not as powerful as the R8 but it is 420bhp supercharged and is light. Been great fun.
The in-car camera upgrade makes it so good… we need to see camera upgrades overall…this was so good
