Thanks! Hardest part...locating the front axle. Figuring out the front suspension and trying to keep it low as possible with a high pinion dana 60 front presented challenges. If I had to do it again I'd do it differently, but not sure I'd like it any better. Truck works well now as is. Thanks again!
i love the dog on the 3rd or 4th shot "hey guys, what's goin on?"
@27MattG
thanks for posting and the tips! my motor has a few upgrades but no cams. and honestly i have not heard of BIG hp gains with the cams nor do i want a chunky idle. the gearing i have in the tcase and axles help quite a bit and i am satisfied with the overall power that is delivered to the tires/wheels. enjoy your frontier where you take it. anytime you want to push it to and past its limits...let me know and i'll point you in the right direction. cheers!
great job! very nice work i bet it took a lil while to finish...mine took me way too long!
this truck was overbuilt specifically so it could be beat on and keep on doing its thing. its also very well maintained...better than most vehicles. this thing is not abused. its just used for what it was built for. don't hate
What a beast of a frontier!
That is truly a thing of beauty. Been wanting one way too long. My day will come. The work looks awesome! Great job and great vid.
There was another red 4 door on tons. Sick truck man
thats awesome mate shame we cant have trucks that big registered here in australia i would do this to my navara, same colour and everything. ive already got a 7inch lift with 35s, but would look stock beside this beast, love your work, i take my hat off to ya..
What can I say,......impressive? No, that would be to little of a word to express how awesome your truck turn out to be. When you get a chance, come show it off at Truckmodcentral a forum for truck enthusiast you can find me there as OGTerror.
Just started the build on my 2001 frontier, but it's gonna take forever to get on your level bro, thanks for the motivation.
Yes that Is what I meant by Outboarded. The springs are located outside of frame rail in front. 47" springs. Springs are the same width as the frame rail in the rear. I will be at the garage in a few days and will try to get some measurements.
Wow, You made your Nissan into a Beast! Nice music, video and just the right camera angle and good driving. Your video has my attention 100%..
Love this video and the song just goes so well with it
man... the nicest truck ive seen in a long time! good job on this man!
@bowmaster24
they hold up well. 130k on mine and 50k of which was on 37 or larger tires. its been tested and ran hard and zero problems. the blocks on these motors are huge and really overkill for the output on these motors so they will take a good bit of abuse.
awesome video! very good pace and nice mix of stills and footage.
Dude, I'm a Toyota dude, but your truck really kick ass. It really really looks that you know what are you doing. Congrats! and keep going!
This video gave me some envy. LOL
Greetings from Mexico.
@BrokenMessiah13
Bumpers and all tube work are custom. You'll like yours on 33s. I ran with 33s for years. Worked great!
I drive a Jeep, and I can honestly say this is one of nicest Frontiers I have seen. Great Build! I guess it doesn't always have to be American to be tough hahaha.
BAD ASS FRONTY! YEEEEEEEEAAAAAA!
Bad ass!!! Man I love this thing and it gives me inspiration for my 05' Colly. It's got a Rancho Lift right now, but I'd like to go the route you did w/ a SAS and 37's. That thing can flex like a motha luva too, great work!!!
YOU GET AN A + in beating on that truck
Great job man! What did you use for a steering box and what springs did you use? Or if you have a build thread, could you share the link? Killer setup!
still a sick build in 2021
Hey! I live in Iceland and i just bought a frontier with patrol Axel and 38 inch tires!
Really great vid. Love the car and the music.
Keep on crawlin!
awesome truck, vid and song
Wow... nice build man
Awesome inspiration man great job on the swap!
BADASS !!!! You guys put some work in for Sure ! My Frontier is still in the Making, Love Nissan ... I have ask though Is the V6 enough?
@BrokenMessiah13 Man I have an 04 fronty v6 3.3liter. Did your supercharger come stock or did you have to buy it aftermarket. Because I have been lookin for one and i cant find one if you could tell me I would appreciate it!
Love it! Amazing job man!👍👍👍
nice job! did you do all the work yourself?
One sick truck man. All I can say is wow
nice truck, been lookin to swap in a dana 44 into my ranger and was wonder what where ya got your leaf springs from and how wide the frame rails in your the rig are?
Sweet ride! I had an 01 as well with a 3" Calmini lift (which is crap IMO) But I loved that truck.
That is a weapon! do these have the 3L turbo diesel like the navaras?
Beautiful truck both before and after the SAS. I love most 4x4 modified frontiers. What was the hardest thing when doing the swap?
nice rig awesome job looks great
sick truck man, have fun :)
all racks and armor on that truck were homemade.
really nice, would you like a truck with those axle gezz, never have to worry about breaking anything with a light truck and 1tons
yeah i just went in to the shed and measured my springs and their 48" oh well! i also noticed below the front bar did you put a sheet steel brace from the front crossmember foward to a new box section piece and capped off the chassis or was it like that? reference 6.12 minutes cheers mate you really helpful, if you could pm me with the with measurements would be hugely helpful !!! thanks again
@skaiter1007
on 37s it did fine. now on 40s and w/full hydro steering not so well. its built more for the dirt than pavement.
thanks! a bit more than i had originally planned.
What axles did you use for this I'm over in the UK and thinking of doing the same to mine, but if your into modifying vehicles over here you may as well be the devils son they fucking hate it. I've been looking at axles on common things round here like landys and patrols and land cruisers but all there front diffs are on the wrong side I've been told a jeep waggoner front axle fits and that's a Dana 44 or 40 I can't remember. But yeah I saw you swapped both the front and rear axle so if you wouldn't mind could you let me know what they were please
I have my frontier back home and when i get back from Afghanistan ima try to do something like this
Spring eyes are closer together in front vs in the rear. A slight angle outward as they go back.
my favorite truck.awsome job
this is bad ass! i wish my little 2dr 02 could do that...
that looks cool at 6:38.do you have like a nissan 4x4 group?if so sign me up , we need a nissan 4x4 group to put those toyota guys in their place.
p.s. im a chevy guy , but when it comes to foreign trucks its nissan all the way.
i'll make the shackles tomorrow similar to yours with spacers so i can get spring eyes as square as i can to the frame! i'll only make the shackles 2'' about standard ride height to pass road inspection! Australia got strict road mod laws!
@4X4punisher
the front 60 and rear 14blt were a package deal. and it would not benefit me to go with a rear 60; as my fron t60 is hp driver drop and gearing options are same as 14 bolt.
it's a pretty involved swap. you might want to look on some ford forums and gather some information specific to your vehicle. good luck!
my buddies got an all stock 03 frontier crew cab took it up to a cave party last night handled the trail stock no lift as good as my buddies 6 inch lifted chevy but hey then again our other buddy got his mustang up there on 20's haha
thats a bad ass truck
outboarded! do mean that they are not dead straight they toe in to location from diff mounts! in the video at 4.24 minutes it shows there the hanger sticking out looking at it roughly between 4''-5" and yeah i'm finding that1.8m diff's though are going to be great for stability are a pain like you say locating cause of the length!
@jerrajon
you are right. i should have just said i prefer not to disclose. anyway....parts in the neighborhood of 6k. and an estimate of 250hrs of labor. hope that helps.
Amazing truck man. Puts my stock nismo to shame off road ahaha
@recon501
thanks man! good luck with your build. what's the set-up gonna be?
AWESOME! whats the build cost on some thing like this?
Custom piece. Can't recall width right off. Will try to remember to measure. It's kinda wide though. Springs are outboarded a little to accommodate axle width.
it's his truck. he keeps a close eye on things.
I have a 2001 frontier xe v6 reg cab but ur frontier is the reason I want a better paying job
that thing is bad fuckin ass nice work
Ive got a 98 Frontier with 248,000 on her and she runs like a champ. Im getting a new Frontier here shortly. A 2005-07 model, 4Dr,4x4.... how do these V6s hold up?
Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!
Holy fvck, you were thrashing that thing
i am planning on doing this when i get the money for it. how much did the first part cost you?
Hey brother just wondering why you went for a leafspring set up rather than a coil spring set up. thanks brother
GOOD STUFF!!
Sick truck, wish my frontier could do that
amazing!!
Nice truck
la toune de ce clip est écoeurante!!!!
are you running mickey thompson baja claws?
Thanks buddy
what is the length of your front leaf hanger if it's custom? or did you use a aftermarket Hilux hanger?
how is it on the hw tho?? cause i was thinking of doin somethin like this myself on a tacoma or ranger and making a lil offroad rig
@chewy089
depends on who makes it. i don't have time to make parts for people, but if i did my bumpers would likely be $750 parts.
awesome work, but... i think it wont fit into de garage again...
Was this for sale about a year ago in Washington state?
@skaiter1007
it doesn't any more. full hydro steer and 39s and beadlocks. too much for street use.
Where did u get the rack that was in the bed of the truck?
Wait what four wheel parts center did you go to??
How much would you say was your total cost in doing the SAS?
@kdn3lson
this is when it had eagle alloys. raceline beadlocks now.
pro comp xterran
newtdini i know this is probably a long shot since this is from 2008, but do you remember what brand upper control arms you had when you still had ifs? I'm trying to decide between a few brands and those seem to flex pretty well for ifs. 1:16
newtdini btw awesome work man.
Thanks man! Arms are from AC. Check out 4x4parts.com. They sell them there. Later
newtdini i was gonna go with those but heard of alignment issues and too much positive camber. If you had no issues than those are what i'll go for. thanks for the repsonse.
@bowmaster24
its sufficient with proper gearing, but not overkill by any means.
Drive it like you stole it !
agreed. if you have time...find me a song...i'll swap it out.
@darkrival0 Is the torque and power as good as they say?
what is the difference in your fuel mileage since you switched?
how does it drive on the street??
How difficult is this swap? I wanna do the same thing to my 84 f150 but I dont know where to start. Do I need a donor truck? Any help would be great!
what lockers are you running?
@Tylonious
Appreciate it man!
i have a 94 d21 how hard is a solid axle swap and wats the best axle. should i do front and back. thanks in advance
Hey Bo how do I do I solid axle swap for my ranger? I can't find nothing online ytge biggest thing is the steering
