2016 Olympic All-around champion, Margarita Mamun from Russia performed her ribbon routine to "Night of Terror" by Clint Mansell at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio. She was the only gymnast in the final to have scores over 19 points on all four disciplines. Enjoy watching!

MM performed well in each event, but shined brightest with her Ribbon routine.
Уточняем заголовок видео: Рита единственная, кто набрала больше 19 баллов за каждый из видов, т.е. её сумма за все 4 вида 76+ баллов, в среднем за 1 вид >19 баллов. И да, важное уточнение эта сумма баллов по старой системе судейства

The caption is a bit ambiguous... she is the only gymnasts who scored over 19 points in her club routine but with the ribbon, also Yana scored over 19. But nevertheless this ribbon is my favourite routine in Rio, Rita is stunning!

It’s amazing how tall rhythmic gymnasts are compared with artistic gymnasts. I suppose the additional height combined with their super slender physiques make them look more graceful.
They’re not necessarily that tall. They were average during that cycle, they were taller during the previous Olympic cycle. This cycle, especially the Russians are tiny ahah
@@dominicweber Mamun is like 5ft7. That’s taller than average and certainly tall for a gymnast.
@@morningstar8187 for an artistic gymnast that’s tall, but it’s average for general population. Also, you can‘t base that assumption on just one gymnast
@@dominicweber Average height for a woman is 5ft4 to 5ft6 depending on ethnicity. It’s not just Mamun. Kudryatseva is over 5ft8. So is Rizatdinova. Even Son Yeon-jae is 5ft5 which is taller than average for a Korean woman. Minagawa is 5ft7 which is tall for a Japanese woman. Well above average.
@@dominicweberSalome Pazhava is petit, and SO other gimnasts, like Stliana Nikolova....and that is not reason to not value them. What they do is what make us enjoy, pure magic! Regardless of their tallness!

Было конечно круто, но раньше до 2017 года можно было выиграть с оценкой 19 баллов, прошло 5 лет и сейчас гимнастки набирают 29 баллов за упражнение, а 19 баллов сейчас это наверно 10 место может быть ещё ниже, в любом случае в то время это было не забываемое ощущение

How are they scored?
@Blank the score is established by the addition of the difficult score and the execution score. Difficult score is formed basically by elements they do with the body, such as jumps, rotations and balances, and elements they do with the apparatus. At Rio Olympics the maximum difficult score a gymnast could get was 10. Now it can be higher than 10. The execution is score is given by deduction. So every artistic or technical fault has a value. The sum of those deductions are subtracted by 10. So if a gymnast gets 9.500 as D score and 9.000 of E score, her final score is 18.500.
Execution, which is mistakes in form, technique, and drops, going down from 10. And difficulty, which is what they do with the apparatus and their body movements like turns and leaps, up to 10 😊 the maximum score at the time was 20

Zero clue what's going on. Was it playing with the ribbon which was being judged? Or her jumping to catch it. Confused.

It’s not really “playing” with the ribbon
But everything she was doing was being judged
The score is comprised of difficulty and execution
Difficulty which is determined by the elements they perform (leaps, turns, catches) and at the time had a maximum of 10
Where as execution starts at 10 and goes down with various mistakes and errors (dropping the apparatus, falling, deviations in form)
