I am surprised Will brought you to Jingmei night market which is not a popular night market for foreigners. But it is good you experienced a very local market and enjoyed the food. Other tourist won't have this experience!
The first thing they teach you in kindergarten is to share with each other, and that's what kids learned from the very beginning to start their friendship. I guess this rule applies to adults as well. Sharing good foods and moments with a good friend worth a lot, and produces many good memories afterwards.

rarely saw any foreign tourists go to 景美 night market, it is definitely not as famous or big like 士林, but it is still a great place and it have a very different feel to a more touristy night market. i grown up around 5 mins walk from there and have fun memory of going there at day time when it was a wet market running around the place getting free stuff from people and beg my mom to bring me back at night when it turn in to night market
now 20 something years later and i move to around 20 min drive away, i still go there regularly with my family and friends
and the craziest thing is after 20 years, many vander i knew as a kid are still around

I work in Qualcomm in Chupei Taiwan who coming from others country employees love Taiwanese Teppanyaki.
You can see many working in high tech companies foreigners their dinner time in Taiwanese Teppanyaki restaurants.
We have a classical black tea called old school black tea flavor, this black tea is so delicious it’s usually free in Taiwanese Teppanyaki.
I miss this stall Will brought you to in JingMei. This is classic and has been there for more than a decade.

Zane, you should get Citymapper to help you get around cities in Asia. Makes using public transport like MRT and buses so much easier. We live in SIngapore and use it all over Asia Pacific

I’ve been watching a Taiwanese soap opera that’s set in Jiufen, but most of it is filmed on a set. The real Jiufen looks way better.

I love Jiufen! Just too crowded, coz you know, it’s that pretty and attractive to us, tourists.
Avoid going to Jiufen on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays!

BTW, I have to say: "Will, you are a nice guy, but not a good tour guy." 😄 In Juifen, many traditional and famous food were not introduced to our American friends or maybe it is just not presented in the video. Anyway, it doesn't necessarily to be delicious food to our friend even though they are traditional and famous so still I think you were doing a good job to introduce Juifen to tourist. I don't think he needs to explain or apologize to the sausage vendor, it's over anyway and both are talking their own way.
What's more, Zane didn't complain about this, he just felt that the price was a bit high. $NT135 may be a misunderstanding, or it may be true. For me, I don't think it is very important.
No matter what the amount was, at least Zane got the food and the girl took the money.
