It was never released as it was deemed too liberal for the 50's-era conservative market. Though we had to wait about 30 years, the 1980's release was basically the same exact song.
This was my parents favourite song when it first got released in 1983. Years later they got married and they had used this song as their wedding song. But in 2003 they divorced after 16 years. Recently I found the vinyl cover. It was the only thing my mother let my dad keep of hers. Occasionally I sit down with my vinyl player and I play this song. I still know all the words and hope I get to see my mother again. I will be sure to surprise her with this song.
