tbh there really is no real way to make a complete tutorial on DW, you can only really learn from trial and error. at most you can get different cheesey playstyles from yt, but genuinely being good and actually winning, only real tip is get better. edit: only real times tutorials are really helpful is for more complex things, such as arbiter beam ability
since this is pinned, let me give some quick perk-specific tips. below tips are complex tips that'd really help, such as which perks go well together, good strats to use with them. I will update this from time to time when im bored, so expect a buncha more text and updates to it. Scroll around and see what helps you. fearless is a close to essential perk for decaying winter, especially if you're going late game, since in late game AK scavs and really any ranged scavs will be your doom, and the boss is ranged based. berserker is a simple but very, very skill based class. it's ability allows you to do more dmg, take less dmg, faster stamina regen, ignore broken bones in a short period of time, and if you get kills or land a parry, the ability will last longer, with the only debuff of it being less dmg for a certain period of time after the ability ends. berserker is a very bad perk to play with when you're with a team, since it's ability relies on getting more kills, so it's essentially a solo perk. An important tip is to parry, because if you successfully land a parry on an enemy, your ability timer will automatically get set back to max, allowing you to keep the ability going a whole night. you will have to learn to know the best time to use your ability, since if you use it too early you may not have enough time to keep the ability going for a second wave. my personal traits for it are: dependable, fearless, methodical My reasons for this are for overall less dmg from everything, and more melee dmg. with vagabond, each dogtag makes your ability recharge faster. if you have 7 dogtags your ability is practically instant recharge. your ability does 65 at 100%, keep in mind. ballistic dagger deals 16 dmg shove, no morale debuffs. if you can combine both, you can shove with ballistic dagger then use the ability, that way you can one-shot any scav that isn't a shotgun, rifle or ak scav. dogtags increase speed too, so if you can amass up to 17 dogtags you can reach the fastest possible limit ingame, all the while being able to practically 1 shot everything, at the cost of being the biggest glass cannon in the game. It's a really skill based class to play, especially for solos if you're planning to beat the game. my personal traits for it are: impatient, fearless, aggressive behavior my reasons for this is for faster speed, less dmg from gun people (its a glass cannon) and faster shoves for faster kills with ballistic dagger + ability. another tip is with sovereign. Sovereign shove does damage, and ballistic dagger also does damage, and both of them stack with each other. If you use ballistic dagger with sovereign, you can deal about 26 dmg each shove, practically the same as Bill hook light attack damage, all the while stunning the enemy. this also works perfectly due to the fact each shove you have with sovereign marks an enemy, and turns them into a ghost on death. a really good trait to put up with this is aggressive behavior, for the faster shoves. My personal traits for it are: impatient, fearless, aggressive behavior my reasons for this are because impatient will cancel out it's passive slow debuff, fearless for less damage from ranged, and faster shoves for better damage. 2 of the above strats are cheeses that let you not have to worry about using melees, and doesn't give any debuffs to guns, effectively making both perks really good solo perks, due to the fact you have already incredible melee abilities and no gun debuffs, allowing you to switch between both depending on the situation. another tip, immolator is actually more of a support class. it's too much of a glass cannon, due to how it's ability works. Immolators ability basically allows you to utilize a flame thrower (holding down f) or a self fire bomb (deals heavy dmg to enemies, sets them aflame and gives you and your allies in range an ability that makes all actions do more dmg and set enemies aflame, including guns) that doesn't harm yourself. Both of these increase a certain percentage of your ability, fire bomb being 50% and flamethrower being 1% every second. Once an immolator hits 100%, they would explode, setting aflame and dealing damage to nearby enemies, and die. Any damage done to an immolator also increases their ability percentage by a certain amount, depending on the amount of dmg done. A really good synergy (match up) is zealot and vagabond. With zealot, you can place down a turret that deals 24 dps every second, and with that it allows vagabond to use their ability on any damaged enemy, doing a 1 shot. another way, is to let the zealot tank hits and parry, while the vagabond comes in and out, using its ability on enemies. Tickspider is bad. Don't use it, ever. In solo its debuffs are a pain, and in teams it'll be the bigger threat to your allies than the enemies. The ability places down a tick spider that'll chase nearby enemies, and once in a certain radius will explode. It will do considerable damage, and stun the enemy. But it will also stun and damage your allies. Since the tickspider chases enemies, often times it'll end up blowing the enemies and yourself up. Really the only time it's useful is if you're an advanced player and know what you're doing. Prophet is a good, balanced perk for newer players, but usually after a while everyone will move on from it and start using a different perk, since usually other perks are higher risk higher reward. I generally don't use prophet too much, but from what I know, its more of a stepping stone really. If you are planning to use it, you'll be a more ranged type perk. You'll be scrapping a lot, and usually if you use this perk you'll be in a team, and youll be dropping your scrap to team mates to craft for you. In the end its more of a support-ranged perk that excels at loot days, but is outshined by most classes due to its lack of offense based buffs and abilities. Why would you need other ppl to craft for you prophets increase crafting debuff is only for things made from materials and you dont rly need those except pavises
Last tip, only time you use ballistic daggers are on arbiter because hes the only class that can regularly deal dmg from long range and finish off most scavs with long shot plus Q. Throwing knives are a go to for all classes, but melee builds stand to gain the most from koldera.
A cool tip for sovereign is using the shove, basically because the shove already deals damage and curses the enemy without using the ability, you also can use the aux equipment "Ballistic Dagger" to deal more damage with the shove (the ballistic dagger shove also works on vagabond, allowing you to one-shot most enemies if you shove first and use the ability later, also the ballistic dagger causes the bleed status on enemies)
I learned that ballistic dagger bleeds on shove the other day when I was fighting a hidden. Literally got it to low HP and died anyway (prophet scan op). Then night came and I realized it died in front of my corpse.
@@fattytan1377 no the hidden died because the waves of scavs started to spawn in. When the scav waves start all entities including loot and such get removed and this also applies after the scav waves. But the ballistic dagger does actually apply bleed but you have to shoot the dagger to do so.
i actually made a build with zealot where i tested every explosive in the game, tanked every single one except for dynamite. (and yes i was holding them when they exploded or standing on them, i even tanked an explosive barrel.)
Tip for arbiter: pressing f before the knuckleboom fires would actually fire a longer range shell that deals more damage than just pressing f (beg to god you wouldn’t do it in close range if scavs backstab you to 60 hp bc you can accidentally blow up yourself if the radius is in range within you even on the ground you touch the celling of the map ur paprika dust :) )
The Summoner or Sovereign is actually the greatest Crowd control Perk you can spam Q with the right Traits even with wrong traits And The perk can fight by mean Fight literally 1v20 the rest of the melee's or can even get you to Night 10
I've played sovereign from lvl10-lvl95 and it is great for that matter but it's such a stamina drain and hp drain since you have to go in the crowd in order to do it, which is a pain solo or in a small team
Tip for executioner: if you gain more bounties, damage would increase Ex: 61 bounty = insta kill a hanger, hidden, and skinner + 2 hit a simple suckler (if using artisans hook / snake eyes or Maria / Abbie )

for the cultist, you can do a "shovestar" build with the poison knives and the occult knife shoves. it deals a kill in 3 shoves and constantly breaks its arms
Some stuff you forgott or didnt mentioned: -with the immolator you give the fire buff to teammates and it wont even dmg them. The fire buff works with guns too. (fire bullets) - the damned is good agains morale. If everybody dies (or pressed 0) before the "storm is arrived" message is apear, your team can fight the wave with no morale debuff. Bow is your best friend as the damned. - as the vagabond if get 8 or more dogtag, you can even outrun the sad boy wenn he is triggered.
Fun fact: Lazarus can destroy demons, here’s how. Find the demon, just not shy boy Find an explosive trap, one that always give your team death morale Use boost on yourself and use the trap at similar times Watch as the demon explodes, I don’t know if barrels work well but probably Go wild.
Thought i'd mention this, as a Vagabond main, also useful for executioner, but collecting your stacks instead of using them immediately benefits you a lot, 20 stacks on executioner can basically one shot everything on the m1s, and vagabond can become sonic at about 10-15 stacks, hopefully that helps some people lol
Im a Blizer main, Im not really pro and advanced, but I have some tac tics I know, that maybe will help you 1) Try to combo it with Concertina Bomb, the plan is always put your bombs inside the concertina, your team won't go there and when enemy hitted by that, just explode it, and BOOM they're dead. 2) Don't try melee to much, you're weak at it. It's a good perk to use gun and not melee's. 3) You can make an "moving bomb" by putting your stickies in your HOLO (Equipment) or if you have a Mind Flayer team, you can put it on Mind controlled opponent. 4) Like number 1 tips. The point is always try put your stickies near/ in other trap. So that you're team will get away from it, and your opponent got 2x damage. 5) If you try to kill scavanger, it take about 2-3 sticky.
Btw for those who don't know, you can shove for sovereign and you basically get to use your ability without throwing it. Not too great, but a sliver of info

7:30 this is exactly why I’m a zealot main, my build for Zealot is tormented, calmed, and dependent. Basically a giga tank but I use calm for extra stamina cuz I’m slow asf
blitzer tip: if you get permission from a team member you can obliterate anything including sledge queen and yosef by dumping a bunch of "presents" onto them and then making them into a suicide bomber, because the only thing stronger than 30 bombs in 30 moving bombs
Well, as Executioner main, I can say the goggles can help you locate the Hidden (The invisible ****er that slide your thoat and make creepy voice), those bounty give you damage bonus, also that goggles can be use as low budget wall hack (useful when you go solo or when you team don't have prophet). In my opinion this class is almost perfect....only problem is that you can't take too many hits or you goggle will go bye bye and give you black screen.
When you almost said the bomb guy is a team killer I felt that because I was in a match and someone with that perk kept stunning everyone with there bombs, we died on night 3
tip for the arbiter, if you time it just right you can hit a longshot which instakills most enemies upon direct and nearby explosion (i know im late by three years)
The perk I use is the executioner you want to use Violent Tendencies, Fearless, and Dependable. When you put your goggles on the kills you get with it you do 7% more damage per a kill and it stacks but you have to keep the goggles on (op in my opinion I got 67 light damage with this) also use spears
u die a lot. i missed the single last shot to kill a pistol dude on scav war. i found it more funny than angry when it all build up to the last shot and it misses. that's what makes this game fun
Every perk is good. Difference people difference skills and life way. Mine is bomb shotgun thing. Boost my jump to get up mountain easily. I do land at safer place so I don't break my legs.
tip for berserker : take out high priority targets like sledgers, ak’s, m1911 users (scav with pistol that has no gloves) so you can heal way better by using lesser scavs
Not saying Tickspider is the best perk, but it is better than what people give it credit for. I personally love Tickspider to death, and the playstyle it encompasses. Essencially, the bonuses and minuses Tickspider gets should already put you in a much more different mindset in how to approach fights and in what ways you can contribute. The increased damage taken and less melee damage should tell you not to be in any scavs face for too long. The bonuses, though, should meanwhile tell you to take the whole backliner title to heart. Decreased recoil, increased explosion damage and trap placement speed. What I think is the most optimal way to play is a clever and witty trapper who uses tickspiders to increase lethality of this traps significantly. Use guns to protect yourself, and let your big and strong teamates protect you from immediate harm. As for the ticks themselves. They do significant amount of damage, around 50 to 70. Unsure about the exact number. They also inflict slow and bleed. The blue ticks can maximize the damage by placing one a bit further away from a slowing or snaring trap. A few tips, from a Tickspider main: 1. Try using punjis or caltrops to slow scavs, and place a tick just after. They will most certainly be dead, either from the explosion, or bleeding. 2. You don’t get many ticks, a max of 5 per day if you’re efficient with them. Be clever with placement to minimalize the amount used. 3. Use concertina bombs. The direct damage and bleed should make a single tick be strong enough to kill most. 4. The speedy scavs are the bane of your existance. 5. Your increased explosion damage lets all throwable and placable explosives kill at a wider area. This can be very dangerous, though. Can’t think of many more tips to give. Play safe, support damage and make defenses unlike any other class (other than zealot) can make. And remember... traps arent gay
The best part about executioner is that you become berserker but better. The more bounties you have, the more damage you deal. Meaning that if you reach 8+ bounties and have a tier 2 melee, you can start one shotting scavs with heavy swings.
Sovereign job it’s in the nights needs to first shove (using cursed knife) much possible so he can create a mini army of ghosts really useful if you wanna push the wave away even if it’s wave 6 enemies have guns or something like that it can be used has a meat shield go behind them and let them take the shots it works the same has enemies,mind flayer enemy (the blue spider thing) really useful if you fighting someone with a knife and there’s someone behind him shooting him he also takes dmg Immolator is like executioner but it can use scraps and give buff but also risky if you find an experienced immolator just give him a tier 3 melee and the first two or three nights can be skipped because if he has 50% (the thing that can buff and stun enemies also set on fire) he literally does 100 dmg but I’ve have said risky because even if he has 100 health and supposed to be immune if he uses 100% of his ability he will just explode and die Executioner also know has “can someone pass me some scraps?” And to many players that are noobs they say no get yourself since they don’t know this perk can’t scrap things: it’s just easy don’t get damage get good at fighting try to stay away to guns or try to move fast to dodge bullets more bounty you have the more dmg if you want scraps remove the face 7 scraps every kill but trust me when you have like 10 bounty and a tier 2 weapon you can kill everyone Mindflayer it’s like sovereign but his buds can be only 2 and can be a useful distraction and can resist a lot of dmg and do more dmg than the ghosts: it’s like if you aren’t gonna get damaged it’s you can carry the whole team if you get people with guns like shotgun ak practically those can kill alot of enemies practically a glass cannon Survivalist balanced no buffs no ability no cons starts with backpack and a full belly: it can be 3 survivalist 1 the noob one that you need him kicked out since he can’t talk he will use all of your stuff trying to heal himself like bandages stims and stuff that can remove effects but can’t heal him he will use guns on wave every wave or every scav day he dies a lot even in the storm make it the loot disappear plus he will surely steal your loot use your scraps trying to craft useless weapons like snipers (yes someone took my scraps and crafted 3 snipers…) 2 the one that is still a noob but he can talk and knows some the basics he will die not so easily he can fight he knows some of the stuff remove effects he will ask for tips and he tries his best 3 the one that is basically knows the game to the fullest he just wants to play it balanced or just wants the mastery
Zealot is the best perk for newbies, just gotta press F in a crowd and bam, free exp. Also their shield has 800 hp (if you accidentally hold F just don't hold the F key)
I started DW as a dumbass, I did not know how to play I only knew how to run around and get stuff that I didnt know what the use was for, but after playing ALOT of DW with my friends i just became good at it naturally.

Vagabonds katana isn't meant to be spammed as when you swing it more than once its damage is reduced greatly, it is used for finishing off enemies not to be a replacement for a melee

for the cultist, you can do a "shovestar" build with the poison knives and the occult knife shoves. it deals a kill in 3 shoves and constantly breaks its arms
I use this build aswell and broken arm literally kills the build. ;-;

Some stuff you forgott or didnt mentioned:
-with the immolator you give the fire buff to teammates and it wont even dmg them. The fire buff works with guns too. (fire bullets)
- the damned is good agains morale. If everybody dies (or pressed 0) before the "storm is arrived" message is apear, your team can fight the wave with no morale debuff. Bow is your best friend as the damned.
- as the vagabond if get 8 or more dogtag, you can even outrun the sad boy wenn he is triggered.

Fun fact: Lazarus can destroy demons, here’s how.

Find an explosive trap, one that always give your team death morale
Use boost on yourself and use the trap at similar times

Arbiter doubles your melee damage, making even tier 1's +40 dmg on a heavy swing. Fists even get 27 dmg (on a heavy)

Thought i'd mention this, as a Vagabond main, also useful for executioner, but collecting your stacks instead of using them immediately benefits you a lot, 20 stacks on executioner can basically one shot everything on the m1s, and vagabond can become sonic at about 10-15 stacks, hopefully that helps some people lol
I think his max speed on 10 stacks, and when you get death damage you automaticaly redeem dogtags(not sure about it)

Im not really pro and advanced, but I have some tac tics I know, that maybe will help you
1) Try to combo it with Concertina Bomb, the plan is always put your bombs inside the concertina, your team won't go there and when enemy hitted by that, just explode it, and BOOM they're dead.
2) Don't try melee to much, you're weak at it. It's a good perk to use gun and not melee's.
3) You can make an "moving bomb" by putting your stickies in your HOLO (Equipment) or if you have a Mind Flayer team, you can put it on Mind controlled opponent.
4) Like number 1 tips. The point is always try put your stickies near/ in other trap. So that you're team will get away from it, and your opponent got 2x damage.
5) If you try to kill scavanger, it take about 2-3 sticky.
Btw for those who don't know, you can shove for sovereign and you basically get to use your ability without throwing it. Not too great, but a sliver of info

Tip for Sovereign You can shove and it infects them so you dont have to only throw knives.

7:30 this is exactly why I’m a zealot main, my build for Zealot is tormented, calmed, and dependent. Basically a giga tank but I use calm for extra stamina cuz I’m slow asf

You didn't mention that lazarus doesn't let you die when you are under 20 hp.
Fact about arbiter: You cant actually break your legs. One of its pros is that its immune to cripple.

blitzer tip: if you get permission from a team member you can obliterate anything including sledge queen and yosef by dumping a bunch of "presents" onto them and then making them into a suicide bomber, because the only thing stronger than 30 bombs in 30 moving bombs

Well, as Executioner main, I can say the goggles can help you locate the Hidden (The invisible ****er that slide your thoat and make creepy voice), those bounty give you damage bonus, also that goggles can be use as low budget wall hack (useful when you go solo or when you team don't have prophet). In my opinion this class is almost perfect....only problem is that you can't take too many hits or you goggle will go bye bye and give you black screen.

tip for the arbiter, if you time it just right you can hit a longshot which instakills most enemies upon direct and nearby explosion (i know im late by three years)

The perk I use is the executioner you want to use Violent Tendencies, Fearless, and Dependable. When you put your goggles on the kills you get with it you do 7% more damage per a kill and it stacks but you have to keep the goggles on (op in my opinion I got 67 light damage with this) also use spears

As someone who religiously uses the overeign perk every day, I can confirm we cannot fight properly and rely on our knives to save us.
Every perk is good. Difference people difference skills and life way. Mine is bomb shotgun thing. Boost my jump to get up mountain easily. I do land at safer place so I don't break my legs.
Ik that drifter isnt released yet here but my fav playstyle is assassinating so drifter is automaticly my favorite
only vagabond main will unnderstand the 65 melee damage

Tip for the ghost creator i forgot the name and am lazy : you can make ghosts when you press q and hit a enemy then kill them to summon a ghost
tip for berserker : take out high priority targets like sledgers, ak’s, m1911 users (scav with pistol that has no gloves) so you can heal way better by using lesser scavs
When shoving with the sovereign perk you mark enemies as well (your shove is replaced with a knife) so your not going to be always throwing your knife
Not saying Tickspider is the best perk, but it is better than what people give it credit for. I personally love Tickspider to death, and the playstyle it encompasses.
Essencially, the bonuses and minuses Tickspider gets should already put you in a much more different mindset in how to approach fights and in what ways you can contribute. The increased damage taken and less melee damage should tell you not to be in any scavs face for too long. The bonuses, though, should meanwhile tell you to take the whole backliner title to heart. Decreased recoil, increased explosion damage and trap placement speed. What I think is the most optimal way to play is a clever and witty trapper who uses tickspiders to increase lethality of this traps significantly. Use guns to protect yourself, and let your big and strong teamates protect you from immediate harm.
As for the ticks themselves. They do significant amount of damage, around 50 to 70. Unsure about the exact number. They also inflict slow and bleed. The blue ticks can maximize the damage by placing one a bit further away from a slowing or snaring trap.
A few tips, from a Tickspider main:
1. Try using punjis or caltrops to slow scavs, and place a tick just after. They will most certainly be dead, either from the explosion, or bleeding.
2. You don’t get many ticks, a max of 5 per day if you’re efficient with them. Be clever with placement to minimalize the amount used.
3. Use concertina bombs. The direct damage and bleed should make a single tick be strong enough to kill most.
4. The speedy scavs are the bane of your existance.
5. Your increased explosion damage lets all throwable and placable explosives kill at a wider area. This can be very dangerous, though.
Can’t think of many more tips to give. Play safe, support damage and make defenses unlike any other class (other than zealot) can make. And remember...

The best part about executioner is that you become berserker but better.
The more bounties you have, the more damage you deal. Meaning that if you reach 8+ bounties and have a tier 2 melee, you can start one shotting scavs with heavy swings.

Sovereign job it’s in the nights needs to first shove (using cursed knife) much possible so he can create a mini army of ghosts really useful if you wanna push the wave away even if it’s wave 6 enemies have guns or something like that it can be used has a meat shield go behind them and let them take the shots it works the same has enemies,mind flayer enemy (the blue spider thing) really useful if you fighting someone with a knife and there’s someone behind him shooting him he also takes dmg
Immolator is like executioner but it can use scraps and give buff but also risky if you find an experienced immolator just give him a tier 3 melee and the first two or three nights can be skipped because if he has 50% (the thing that can buff and stun enemies also set on fire) he literally does 100 dmg but I’ve have said risky because even if he has 100 health and supposed to be immune if he uses 100% of his ability he will just explode and die
Executioner also know has “can someone pass me some scraps?” And to many players that are noobs they say no get yourself since they don’t know this perk can’t scrap things: it’s just easy don’t get damage get good at fighting try to stay away to guns or try to move fast to dodge bullets more bounty you have the more dmg if you want scraps remove the face 7 scraps every kill but trust me when you have like 10 bounty and a tier 2 weapon you can kill everyone
Mindflayer it’s like sovereign but his buds can be only 2 and can be a useful distraction and can resist a lot of dmg and do more dmg than the ghosts: it’s like if you aren’t gonna get damaged it’s you can carry the whole team if you get people with guns like shotgun ak practically those can kill alot of enemies practically a glass cannon
Survivalist balanced no buffs no ability no cons starts with backpack and a full belly: it can be 3 survivalist 1 the noob one that you need him kicked out since he can’t talk he will use all of your stuff trying to heal himself like bandages stims and stuff that can remove effects but can’t heal him he will use guns on wave every wave or every scav day he dies a lot even in the storm make it the loot disappear plus he will surely steal your loot use your scraps trying to craft useless weapons like snipers (yes someone took my scraps and crafted 3 snipers…) 2 the one that is still a noob but he can talk and knows some the basics he will die not so easily he can fight he knows some of the stuff remove effects he will ask for tips and he tries his best 3 the one that is basically knows the game to the fullest he just wants to play it balanced or just wants the mastery
Sovereign shove doesn't curse them, it Hexes them. Knife throw curses the scavs for the ghost allies.

I started DW as a dumbass, I did not know how to play I only knew how to run around and get stuff that I didnt know what the use was for, but after playing ALOT of DW with my friends i just became good at it naturally.

Vagabonds katana isn't meant to be spammed as when you swing it more than once its damage is reduced greatly, it is used for finishing off enemies not to be a replacement for a melee
