Really a great system and very well explained. Thank you
I tried for 2 days to get my reconditioned 290 drive back on. And failed. Thanks to your video i took the top off. And that made the job a joy!
Thanks for providing this🙏
Happy to be of help
@@MyAvaGrace I have searched for the video explaining how to fill Oil on the DPD drive. You mention that you have a tip in the following video, but I can’t find it?
It's really just a matter of filling and burping to ensure you get the correct amount in. Unfortunately we never got to make that video due lack of time.
Wonderful… your method seems to be the best method… thanks!!!
Thanks
Thanks for the help, and the short cut!!!
Thank you! Great video. Suppose, its possible to add oil easily when upper unit dissambled directly in sterndrive interior
You can part fill, but best to finish once assembled, and make sure you burp the system
@@MyAvaGrace Thank you for prompt answer. Please, make a video about easy oil replacement as mentioned at final🙏
@MyAvaGrace Great video as everyone has mentioned! I am in the middle of doing 2 legs using this method, now that I'm reassembling I would like to know about your easy refilling method and burping the system as you mentioned at the end of your 4th video. By the way, I've never done one of these before and have found your video very thorough and helpful, thank you!
Again Very Good Information
These drives are so simple once you know how they work
Nothing to be afraid of so long as you follow simple procedures
Hi, great videos, i understand much more about these now. Is it the same process with 280 legs?
Yes
I couldn’t tell where that large o-ring goes? Is it all the way up to the mating surface or is it on the next step down?
It should be to the step.
Wow what an awesome video thank you do you have those oil cheats??
Unfortunately Ian and I are no longer working together, and we never got the chance to film that. I am now at a different marina.
@@MyAvaGrace Gotcha great videos and thanks again I subscribed and liked
your more than welcome.@@KcYukon

What type of sealant do you use to close the gearbox
Just a very thin smear of a jointing compound. One that remains soft. In theory the joint shouldn't need any so long as the faces are undamaged.
Thanks for the instructive video. I have one question. What do you put between the gearbox and the stern? Water resistant sealant? Lot of tahnks to you! A boater from Finland
There should be a seal. But a good sealant that will release.
Do you know the part number for the two O rings?
Hi sorry don't have that to hand now. If you contact repower marine they will be able to tell you.
