You are exactly right about one thing. The Bushnell banner is right on par with a Barska. Pay once cry once! Take the bushy outside, run it over with your truck on the street, dig hole in backyard and bury it!!! The worst thing is after you get all your shimming done, the scope probably won't hold a decent zero.
good god, id rather throw away the burris than mess around like this. apparently burris is aware of this misfit as they supply kits to correct it. this is bad news.... a good scope company would makr you happy...... in my world, leupold says it all... $ accuracy toughness tight groupslifetime no questions asked repair..... lifetime perfomance. i always thought burris was quality, seems not.

How many shims would it take to raise the poi 1 foot?
