I remember in 1998 when I was a kid, I asked if I can rent this movie to my parents and we rented that VHS and watched it.
This movie brings back so much memory I had back when I was a kid.
The scene where they had the imaginary gun war was my favourite.
This was a great movie so under rated

She didn't as a child, because she was very, very cynical (as stated by her story about how she never clapped or said she believed in fairies when Tink was dying--and Tink recovered anyway, so, obviously, fake), so she couldn't see him--it's through meeting Albert that she starts to see Bogus and has that scene where she wishes he was there when she was a child, dances with him, and is a child for a moment. ;___;

For some reason I've always thought his character was an angel not an imaginary friend.
putting it that way it makes sense more than an imaginary freind Bogus was more like guardian angel that guided Albert and Harriet to have a good relationship and get along
i think that's implied by the movie, actually.

in the end Bogus turns to the camera and says he's continuing on his way to go help other people.
so it seems like he has an immortal existence beyond Haley Joel Osment (or Whoopi Goldberg). he is probably a guardian angel or spirit who helps children in need by being their imaginary friend. the ending even seems to suggest all imaginary friends are angels/helping spirits
Theres a tv show called Supernatural that said there were creatures, spirits, that could take the form of aspects of a childs imagination and help the children through growing up, theyre called Zanna but theyre not an official myth

Disney would take the same idea when they made the Disney original movie, "don't look under the bed" when Larry was Darwin's imaginary friend and when he didn't need Larry anymore he stopped seeing him and Larry would go on to the next assignment or kid in need.

oh man, I'm just watching this movie right now for the first time and totally remember that it was a thing back in the mid 90's.
its on netflix, watching it, make me cry, and happy and then cry again.
This movie is so underrated. Definitely one of my fav childhood movies.

A brilliant great fantastic film with a very good film star cast and one very moving uplifting family film.
This is a family classic without fail or doubt guaranteed and it was underated.
I saw this years back and it's one of those films that has that special connection.
Many of us all around the world love this film for its powerful true meaning purpose message.
Many others just didn't like it period.
Again it has a great brilliant fantastic Film star cast.
Well that trailer spoiled the whole movie.

1:45 what does he say after "you're my only friend?' I've watched it many times, even with captions, and I still can't understand what he said. I can't find the quote/script to see what he said. Does he say, "even more than me?" I literally can't understand what he's saying.
He says "You're my 'Mon ami."' which is French for 'my friend' because Bogus is French.
