As a ignition code main, Slideshot is a perk for every other situation than a dps phase, because everyone is gonna want to kick you for spaming slides and pushing people out of the well
I hear you. I just got back into the game from playing destiny 2 year 1 so never really understood the “god roll meta”. But i picked up one of these and it just felt great to use with the different ways it reloads itself lol
@@sgtcockburn5824 fortunately, Impact Casing is *way* less critical on rockets than Spike is on GLs. It's something like a 10% increase to impact damage, which ends up being something less than 2.5% Whereas Spike Grenades can be closer to a 20% increase with the right setup.
Idk I think it's because of the notion of build crafting is so mainline now. Exotics are a large part of builds so they needed to be a bit more accessible i suppose
If u want something good RL, probably its time, last wish is currently in featured raid, you could farm the easiest boss in the game and u can also cheese boss, in 8 minutes, for chance single drop. Crux is not pratical to use for slideshot (in particular RL not good using slideshot because "your teammate sometimes standing in front of u while u shoot", "boss always move, slide aim is hard to do especially for console even i use pc i still struggle", "its world drop, its rng", and its not crafted weapon.
A few weeks ago I saw that I got one with slideshot and explosive light and even though I have a great apex, I kept it because I've never seen slideshot on a rocket launcher. I'm so glad I did because it also has impact casing!!!
I've got a slideshot/demo roll and it's been a ton of fun to use. I can see it being less desirable in a raid situation when you have five teammates to watch out for, but in matchmade activities like Coil or when running NFs it's amazing
I don't know how much it would change the dps values, but you can get 4 rockets in the mag with envious assassin (kill one ad, swap to rocket to get 2 in the mag, kill other 10 ads, the perk will add 2 rockets to the mag and get you to 4, it sounds harder that it actually is), and with cold comfort's origin trait you can fire 5 rockets without reloading. Maybe you did it in the testing but I didn't see that in the video so I though I'd point it out
I‘m still not really convinced cuz you could achieve a similar effect with radiant dance machines where bait and switch will be better and for longer damage phases reconstruction with bait and switch apex and for example isanagis burden is way better for ammo preservation and maybe even more dps (idk about the last part tho). For general use like gm‘s is apex with recon and explosive light still on top just because of how you dont need to do anything exept point and shoot

I started a new titan last night and had 3 of these drop in the early neomuna missions. None with slideshot unfortunately, but all are ridiculously OP and super fun to use! Great vid as always!
This feels like a strategy that only works on paper. 6 people slideshotting in a well in a raid is just going to result in 4 dead people as they all shoot one of the guys in front of them mid slide.
I got one with bipod and reconstruction with a blast radius masterwork and it's kinda insane, honestly. For pure boss dps it isn't the best roll but swapping to RL and having 4 shots in the tank is SO handy to just pop off a tanky enemy real quick.
My favorite roll on the RL is envious and bipod, can mag dump the entire reserves of heavy. Fun fact, envious assassin can load all your reserves if you do things right, very neat.
I got a clown cartridge explosive light role that I've been using for quite a while, and back at the beginning of the season I got a slideshot surrounded roll, and I'm so glad I kept it. Thanks for the info cross!
Crux is my go to heavy this season when I’m wanting a pve heavy to deal damage that is dragons breath. I use a clown explosive light roll more, because it really syncs with Argent Ordinance this season, but I have a bipod clown for fun that I use for shooting as many rockets as I can
I got a permeability surrounded roll today and love it, I pair it with a permeability rocket sidearm and I have a solid setup I can use on any subclass but absolute slaps on strand with the seasonal mods
Recently started playing the game again after a several month long break and got the god roll of this thing first day back. My friend explained how dam lucky I had gotten once i told him haha. Definitely looking forward to using it more now
I've been collecting spicy rolls of this since season launch. And I've been extremely lucky. So far I have: Explosive light, slide shot, impact, smart drift and handling mw. Bipod, reconstruction, impact, quick launch, handling mw. Surrounded, slide shot, alloy, quick launch, velocity mw
Yay, I got Slideshot + Explosive Light very soon after it dropped. I thought it would be good but more of a meme weapon, glad to know it’s very strong. I also have Envious + B&S Cold Comfort and crafted Apex, now we need top tier Strand and Void rockets to replace Semiotician and Red Herring, complete the rocket rainbow. Nice to be able to double up on Surges Also, if you’re using rockets for swap DPS then I’d still say a reload perk like Envious or Reconstruction is the way to go, Slideshot is just for blowing your load all at once

I MWed the first 3 that dropped. After this information, went with Quick Launch/Impact Casting( black powder)/ Clown Cartridge/ Explosive Light. Blast Radius MW
I have a Slideshot + EL roll but my go-to has still been my Tripod roll of Clown Cart + Bipod. It's got high base reload speed and I managed to get one with a reload speed MW. As it already has high velocity, especially compared to Hot Head, you can grab other stats than focusing Velocity. Overall a great weapon with fun rolls that also put in some work.
I love crux for nightfalls/dungeons but in raids not so much unless you tell your fireteam you will be sliding alot ( it WILL cause deaths from people hitting you with rockets in wells/bubbles ect. I use fourth horseman + crux & mask of bakris
Those damage numbers shown for all the rockets are very deceptive. When you're using the reconstruction bait and switch apex predator, you can't just look at the rocket's damage alone. The point of that perk combo is to fully utilize your other weapons with it. That is where that perk combo differs from a lot of the others shown there where you are just using the rocket launcher in the damage phase. And when you look at those numbers, its clear that Apex Predator with Recon and B&S is the best. Which is probably why we still see Cross using it months later for everything even though he did this video putting it at the bottom, lol.
I've deleted so many of this exact roll. I don't regret it. I would probably die halfway through my reserves constantly. I've😊 been rocking a reconstruction/demolitionist roll with success.
slide shot with explosive light is rly something. i was sliding in that well while members of my fireteam was using bait and switch but it will be different when we 're all gonna do the same
I just got a Volatile Launch/HV/Slideshot/demolitionist roll of that thing. So i can also throw a damaging grenade while doing this for a free reload without starting to slide around everywhere. And i get Grenade energy to boot.
Really late comment, but after just getting back into Destiny, I was interested to see how slideshot would work on a Rocket Launcher. For me, if you want to use this in a raid encounter, be prepared to be behind your team if youre going to be sliding around during a DPS phase full of Egde Transits.
Another thing I noticed, the tracking on this one is extremely fast locking on too, I have slide/surrounded, and it's fun, but my go-to is my clown/tracking, cause console, but man this one is fun
I got lucky enough to get an impact-envious-explosive light and its the best rocket ive ever used. Where im an arc main anyway its just so nice since it works with my surge mods too.
Personally, I've been loving my Reconstruction/Bipod roll. Having 4 rockets ready to go at any time is so much fun, and it's nice to not feel like I'm wasting my exotic if I'm not running it in heavy.
I feel like this is situational since if you're playing warlock you could use rain of fire with bait n switch and get like 3-4 rockets off on the first weapon rotation. Not saying crux isn't meta just saying that there are some exotic options for dps phases that make it easier to utilize rockets. Especially for warlock considering they don't have good dps armor exotics anyways.
And I got that roll and deleted it (slideshot + surrounded). 😩 Very little Vault space left and never thought surrounded with RL would be a good idea, nor could see me sliding around all the time.
ive loved the look of this rocket launcher and was hanging on to various rolls.. but just yesterday cleaned all but one out of my vault.. now i scared to go check which one i spared lol.
I got a Crux with Bi-pod, Clown cartridge, and impact casing. So it can hold three rockets in the clip. I can fire 3 rockets, use hunter dodge to reload, then fire 3 more. I been melting bosses like crazy
This is the roll that I’ve got, and I’ve been able to bump it up to 7 a couple times. Had someone else running Gally, and 7 Wolfpack rounds fired in about 5 seconds was some n a s t y damage!
A lot of these new seasonal world drop weapons, were dropping when turning in dawning gifts, I have like 9 different rolls, 5 with different variations of a slideshot roll, the rest have reconstruction/clown cartridge/envious. I got rid of my slideshot/surrounded roll after a thrall decided to sacrifice me and it....😂😂😂
I have several god rolls of this rocket right now with a farm that I have found (it is not fun) I have: quick launch - impact - slide shot - bipod quick launch - impact - clown - explosive light quick launch - impact - clown - surrounded permeability - surrounded envious - surrounded envious - explosive light the bipod roll is my favorite because of slideshot, I am still going for the slideshot explosive light/surrounded roll pain.
I have tracking module, reconstruction and wild card. Is this good? It feels good. mini submunitions from wild card. Reconstruction feels slow sometimes so maybe slideshot would be better? (I’m a warlock) Tracking I love for all RL. Sleepless has tracking, wellspring, demolitionist 100 blast. Used that from release till Crux release
I'll be honest, Cross... I'm not grinding for this weapon. My Cold Comfort hits really hard, and I was lucky enough to get Envious Assassin and Explosive Light. I can shoot up to five supercharged rockets all while standing still. Plus I've got two more, one charged with EL and one regular. It treats me well and it has never left my Heavy slot for any reason.
Still a cold comfort fan the sliding is neat but I don’t trust my allies enough to not get in my way cause even after saying no straffing people seem to still do that…….

I have a Reconstruction/Bipod roll. 4 rockets in the pod at all times and auto reloads
bipod reduces rocket dmg by 25% and ruins yoou amm ecooomy (ie you still get the same amount of rockets from bricks but do much less damage
I agree, when I dps on hunter I use celestial then clown/bipod reload dodge I always put up some nutty numbers

1st drop for me was Reconstruction/Demolitionist and it’s great for getting 3 quick shots off when I’m pressed for time like in the new Dungeon

Aggressive frames also hold one more reserve rocket, so 10 rounds with triple reserves instead of 9 for adaptives

I got one with slideshot and demolitionist. Pair it with apotheosis veil and you’ll be dumping your load like nothing you’ve ever experienced before 😊

I used CT to get my 4 guardian kills as invader in gambit 3 weeks ago for the malfeasance quest. It was amazing.
