Jasmine Mackus I'm so sorry for your loss. My son also committed suicide 8 yrs ago at age 24. It's a pain that hurts more than anyone could know unless they have experienced it. I had to know for sure where my son was and if he was suffering? I started to study the Bible and to my delight I saw and found in writing ( the scriptures) that my son and all whom have fallen asleep in death, no matter how or why they died , are all in the grave awaiting a resurrection on earth in the very near future. After all that is one of the major reasons that Jesus died for us. Acts 24:15 says "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous". Revelation 21:4 tells us : "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". We know that place is on Earth because death, pain, tears have never taken place in Heaven. There are so many more scriptures that refer to an earthly Paradise for all of us who are broken hearted, however there is not enough room in this text to tell of them all. I guess I have a more pleasant experience with this song, it was performed as a duet in a show I was in, but that's not important. It nearly brought tears to my eyes. At the time, my own brother was suffering from ALS and later passed away. When I hear it now, I pray for those afflicted with ALS and for researchers to find a cure for both ALS and cancer. I remember how much my brother liked the song and it's comforting to hear and I think of the find memories I have of him. Rest in Peace Chip.

Such a poignant and beautiful rendition of two wonderful songs. It brings back memories of a young 5 year old who was assigned to me as a nursing student. He was in a coma from meningitis and I ran around all week grinding his meds & liquid diet to give through his g-tube and repositioning his little body that would stiffen from periodic seizures. After that hectic week, I finally had a quiet moment between my assigned patients to rock little Eric in a rocking chair and noticed a tape player with a picture above it saying when you have a chance, please play Eric his favorite song..... Over the Rainbow. I held that little boy who would stiffen as I held him and then when the music played.... his little body relaxed and he melted in my arms. The tears just rolled down my face. Years later, when my dad died, the song, What a Wonderful World came on the clock radio after a sleepless night of crying the morning of his funeral. I felt he sent me that favorite song of his. Then a couple years later, my younger son played this rendition of both songs by IZ at his mother/son dance at his wedding reception.... The tears flowed again..... What a beautiful song.
I always love this song, but now, after losing my grandma, i love it even more. This songs calms me down, making me remember the good times i had with her, the things she taught me, the funny stuff she did when i was little and still did until her last days. This great music also reminds me that now she is doing good, resting, and happy in somewhere over the rainbow with God and the other good souls that also left this world.
