I got the chance to save a baby Canadian Goose 2 years ago. I was working at an animal shelter in my town. Faith and Milo were in the East Yard (we had 3 yards N, E, and S). Thank God the 2 dogs were distracted, because I saw a baby goose walking through the yard. If I hadn't been out there to see her, it could have ended up very badly. I took her inside and we were able to contact a rescue, so they could vet check her and eventually release her. It was a pretty awesome feeling. She wouldn't be alive today if I hadn't seen her walking through the yard.I nicknamed her Velma. I don't know why Velma came to me, but it was the first name that came to mind 😂
It's so nice when you help an animal inm distress. I was a night trunk lorry driver in Britain, and over the years, I helped two Owls, a Fox cub, and a Badger. nothing like an elephant or a horse, but still satisfying to help.
