Hi George, I was looking for a review of A Chinese Odyssey! I didn’t see it in your archive. I am watching and re-watching your videos with pleasure! I just started a month ago and have a lot of catch-up to do. Thank you for all your content!!!

Yeah it's pronounced Chiu Hark not Choy Hark. His movies are always quite experimental but I have an issue with some of his direction. He loves to ADR during the action scenes making his characters talk a lot while the fight is going on but the lips aren't moving. 😂 This became a trend with most Wuxia movies in the 80s and 90s. Still can't deny his first two Once Upon a Time China movies are classic Hong Kong cinema. Too bad he didn't find the same kind of success in the west with the forgettable Double Team. At least John Woo had and Face Off and Mission Impossible 2 and late Corey Yuen had The Transporter (his DOA is a guilty pleasure of mine) 🤭 Tsui Hark even directed the animated version of A Chinese Ghost Story. Some of his experimental movies like Time and Tide doesn't always work but it's still entertaining.
