OH my goodness, I didn't know anyone else did this with their scraps! I do this as well, separating them into brights (often by color or color scheme) and "browns". I have boxes full of finished blocks and tubs of strips & bits.
I can't bear to throw lovely fabric away, even the tiniest of pieces. You're correct, making blocks in this manner is very relaxing and fulfilling. Using something most people would throw away & creating beautiful quilts brings me great contentment.
    Thanks for sharing

As I said, Amazing, such beautiful work! I have always said that I would never get into patchwork/quilting. Although I realize that’s just what I am doing right now with scraps that I make bags out of. I admire people’s wonderful work but yours is really something else. I sew regularly, and have earlier, made knitted wall hangings , mostly large ones, one being 7 meters high, for official and public places. But! What am I going to do now...... such an inspiration you are! I may even have to learn the terminology..... fantastic!

My wall has a large piece of flannel on it, with a sleeve at the top with a flat metal bar holding it all flat and with a sleeve at the bottom to keep it all tight. I tape the sides down either with clear tape or with painter's tape to prevent vertical wrinkles (vertical wrinkles are only a problem for the camera). I've had the same flannel for years. Every once in a while I vacuum it.
