As a victim of sexual abuse as a child I believe that Emmerdale Farms has written one of the best story lines of any show I've ever watched. Danny Miller's performance as Aaron is spot on and I consider him one of the best British actors I've ever seen. The supporting actors, particularly his mother Chas are equally outstanding. I started watching this show on youtube because there are very few shows with good gay characters and storylines. It has become my favorite show on television. Danny winning his third Best Actor Award is incredible. His portrayal is right on the mark, as well as the reactions of his family and friends. The first and "second" times I watched these episodes I was in tears, they so moved me. It's nice to see the remarks and comments that other watcher's are putting on here. It is very gratifying to see how people care in a time when some care so little for their fellow man or woman. Thanks to all for your great responses.
I just realised Robert has been in the pub all day watching Aaron making sure he's OK that's how he helps not by revenge when Aaron needs him he's there........
I think it's cute that Robert's voice now is barely above a whisper every time he talks to Aaron now, even though Aaron was feeling a certain type a way about it in this scene.. and Rob sounded hurt as opposed to offended when he thought that Aaron was making a dig at him. Like hurt as in , he doesn't want the love of his life to think bad thoughts about him kind of hurt. I almost thought Gordon was going to attack/rape Chas for a second there , God forbid. Every time this vile character comes on screen, my skin crawls
WOW Lucy girl!!! This was HER episode in many ways. Top notch. Such tense scene with Gordon there btw. And when she came back home. Just perfection that hug with Aaron. British soaps acting guys! :)
+sanyrub That "minute with my son" so vital to reinforcing their fought for primal bond and TRUST before the OFFENSE/attack begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucy Pargeter was beyond amazing in these scenes. Her portrayal of a mother coming to terms with the horrifying truth that the man she married abused her child is heartbreaking to watch. When she hugged Aaron tightly and asked Cain to let her have a minute with her son, my heart broke for her. Danny Miller has an amazing ability to bring the innocent child onto the screen in his portrayal of Aaron - when he told Chas about his dad, he looked haunted - you could see it in his eyes. Lucy on the other hand brings a real maternal instinct in her portrayal of Chas - you could see the fire in her eyes when she lashed out at Gordon and the pain in her face as she cried and held Aaron to her. When you watch the two of them together, sometimes you forget you're watching a soap - the power of their performances pulls you in and is truly believable.
So true, he is so incredibly convincing playing all the different sides of his character: the sympathetic cancer patient; the new lease on life and charming boyfriend; and now the psychopath....I was a little nervous that the actor wouldn't be convincing in the psychopath role because he was sooo good at playing the good guy. It reminds me of that scene in the dark knight rises at the beginning when Anne Hathaway/Selena pretends to act all helpless when Bruce catches her, but then her whole demeanor changes when he realizes that she was a thief...this actor was able to shift so subtly into the psychopath role!
Adam is a true mate...ever since he found out Chas kicked Aaron out, he's been trying to get rid of Robert just so Aaron has a place to stay....and he's sooo angry at Rob for being there cuz Aaron needs the spot...lol..i love it and him
the part i loved most about aaron's abuse story line was aaron and chaz bonding. chaz was amazing and their struggle throught it was the most heart breaking P.S. i love cain, he is a badass with a fierce protectiveness fro his loved ones
Yes a good soap can, it's part of storytelling and anything can happen. I rather an unpredictable storyline versus one where you know how the story unfolds before it even get started.
+Alyssia Melange Yeah it's part of storytelling but I'm sure they don't want to misrepresent people who have gone through child abuse. If Aaron's story had been misconstrued it would be offensive to those victims and undermines when they speak out about what they been through. So even if it is predictable I'm glad they choose to do it this way instead.
Gordon could have tried to attack Chas or worse. He would not been breath by the end of the scene. Folks don't Chas is a fighter in every since of the word. Don't forget she made Carl pay for crosser her. Cain has nothing on his sister.

Cain's face as he is being left out of the loop is priceless
im so glad Aaron has Robert, Chas and Cain. Robert was so gentle and he's watching over him every step of the way with such softness.
robert is so sweet to aaron now

Aarons face when his mum tells him Gordon said he did it, so much pain in his eyes 😢😢
The guy who play Gordon is really talented too !! Wow it seems like all the best actors are in this show !
Because Gordon is the bad guy that people hate, the actor's talent is under appreciated. He does a wonderful job. I can only imagine was hard to play.

Well done chas.... It is a topic that needs to be tackled I hope it helps people ......
Heartbreaking SL, kudos to the writers! And oh, Robert, you, running after Aaron all the time!
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that for the last few weeks Robert's been drinking only water in the pub rather than beer?
Old Robert would have spilled the beans to Cain at the first opportunity. He can't put a foot wrong. Nice!
Adam is a true mate...ever since he found out Chas kicked Aaron out, he's been trying to get rid of Robert just so Aaron has a place to stay....and he's sooo angry at Rob for being there cuz Aaron needs the spot...lol..i love it and him
Robert...you're acting like a love sick puppy
This really is the beginning of Roberts's true deep feelings for Aaron.
The look on Aaron's face when Chas says that Gordon admitted...

I'm so happy she is ok I thought that SOB was going to kill her.
imagine how hard it must be for the actor to play gordon
I feel so bad about doubting Aaron and almost believing Gordon in the beginning
I'm glad she made it out.....
OMFG
Aaron face :-(
I honestly thought Gordon was innocent until now.
Why?! As if a soap would make this a fake rape storyline, there'd be uproar!
***** I didn't think Gordon was the actual perpetrator. I honestly thought it was someone else and Aaron confused the two.
Still, a soap wouldn't do that
