Yep, that's the facility grounds wall collapsed which is really cool
They changed a lot of really small things with pebble's can, mostly adding rot holes
The Rot was internal, so I dont think they added anything, unless i dont see it well

the ending sequence doesnt quite fit rivulet, who was implied to be a traveler
Could be it just finding a nice spot to rest for a little while then carrying on on its travels
