We were awesome in 1997. Had we gotten one break against Tennessee and Peyton Manning, we may have played in the Sugar Bowl. Dameyune Craig led the offense to success and the defense led by Takeo Spikes was rock solid. We beat LSU in Baton Rouge in addition to Georgia and Alabama. Yes, we were only 10-3 that year, but the 1997 team was really good. War Eagle!
The SEC moved its regular season rights to CBS in 1996. During the initial 5-year contract, the SEC title game remained on ABC. It too finally moved to CBS in 2001. The SEC and CBS will part ways after the 2023 season, two seasons short of the partnership's 30th anniversary. In 2024, the SEC will move to ABC, which should give up the Big 12 (along with Fox) to NBC and CBS to make room for the SEC (though the Big 12 contacts with Fox and ABC will still be in effect in 2024).
Now I know why Peyton was so hard on his WR in the NFL . His college WR’s had freaking butter fingers! I’m theNB game they kept doing the same shit, hit in the numbers and hot potato it to the defense. Damn his college team was clumsy . Held the team on his back 💯
Important historical note: Auburn wide receiver Hicks Poor was in one of my classes that year. It had like a 150 people in it. I never knew he was in there until the last day when the professor called out his name. The class was called U101 or something. And here I thought football players never went to class.
@@KoachKrab127 bama was trash in 95 and especially 97. So he lost to the only good bama team he played Uga was trash in 94, an average in 95, 96.And the 95 Ohio state team had absolutely nothing to play for after being knocked outta the rose bowl/national championship picture by Michigan in their final game. And he massively underachieved in the NFL playoffs. He played good in bowls only after his teams had zero chance at a championship. He just wasnt built for the big game. And it carried over into the pros! Dude had a losing play of record until his final year! And had home field and was still one and done most years.
Fuck keith jackson and bob griese. Jackson made a big deal about retiring the next year in national championship game and made the whole broadcast about his retirement. Guess what...he unretired the next year.
I love how when the Auburn player ran back the blocked kick that the Tennessee fans threw garbage on him. They never change. I went there 2 years ago and they threw garbage on our fans players and cheerleaders. They lost of course.
Dameyune Craig is one of the most underrated college Qb's of all time. If he played in todays game he would have won a heisman.
I like the way you do these replays. It is interesting enough to watch, and it gives a good overview of the important plays. Good job :-)

Andy Sommers tennessee give you a break dam we turn it over 6 times
We couldn’t tackle when it mattered. And we had no running game.

You think we would play for a national title forreal
Gave you 6 breaks

Funny thing. Tee Martin won a National Championship the next year with virtually the same team.
Can you edit the 1998 SEC Championship game

Peyton won that game for them. So many mistakes but his poise and 3rd down and long conversations were key
The sheriff out there doing work
Back then you didn't play for a national championship if you lost 1 game.
How in the hell dI'd we win lol
The only big game Peyton won in college!

@@CoreyT127 Peyton hater!
He did beat OSU in a bowl, but what a bust he was.
