Hi mumbo I am from Hong Kong Just want to give some information regarding the Kowloon city style buildings: A lot of times because of the lack of indoor space, there are sticks on the outer walls so people can hang their clothes. Whilst sunlight is important, because of the height of the buildings, window gratings / frames are still essential so that people do accidentally fall off from open windows. In Kowloon city, there were a lot of unlicensed practices (because there was minimal law enforcement presence), such as dentist, Chinese medicine etc. thus, you will also see a lot of signs of their shops. Love the buildings and keep it up ❤ (There is a Hong Kong movie called “Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In” which is based on Kowloon City)
i really hope this gets the courtyard in the center. it’s like the one spot of peace that kinda emphasizes the chaos elsewhere. the kinda recreational spaces on the roofs are cool too.

i just wanna pop in here and mention that xisuma’s positivity and encouragement of his fellow hermits is always so incredibly lovely to see! also the base progress is looking phenomenal mumbo!
He does come across as being the dad of the server, encouraging others and he’s then willing to take the slack. I hope he’s actually cool with it and wants to miss out but he misses the live in-person events for what seems like to hide his face but he misses out on these kinds of socialisation activities - unless he prefers to stay out of it (I’m aware there is off-screen socialisation, but it’s not so much everyone just chatting with each other all the time and mingling)

The other is a USB device that is programmed to automatically run programs (usually malicious) once plugged in. The USB device is the reason you're told to never, *ever* plug in something you don't know where it came from. The most prominent seller of these USB Rubber Duckies (that I know of) does so for red-team penetration testing, and is called Hak5. They are definitely not the only ones selling them, they're just the one I hear of most often. As an aside, I also occasionally teach cyber security on the weekends, and I have a Rubber Duckie programmed to play Star Wars in the command line, just as a demonstration of how easy it is to run code on someone's machine.

It got overpopulated by refugees, criminals and others who felt the need to not be under Hong Kong law, but to enjoy the benefits of that, they had to keep their buildings within the formal borders of something that was never meant to be a city. So they went vertically with zero building codes, using basically all the space they had access to, and much taller than anything that was around them at the time.
5:50 this aspect is single handedly why I play Minecraft exclusively in smps, having neighbors and planning how you complement each other's bases is super fun and adds so much to a world.

you can use his roof @9:12 as floor where your city uses it as streets and such, like the multi-level city Chongqing in china. its amazing where you walk out of a building you think you are on the street floor but you are just on a roof of another building that is 20 stores high. would love to see such thing here too i think it has so much potential

I’m genuinely so impressed by all of the hermits’ enthusiasm this season. Everyone is just having a blast, and I feel like that little spark of magic (or whimsy I should say) has come back full force after taking a nap for a few seasons. Don’t get me wrong, the last few seasons have been incredible, but there’s something extra special about season 11 :) thank you guys for being so awesome!

Sometimes the most realistic answer is the right one, but sometimes the silly answer is the better one. I used to live in a similar place and lots of the neighbors would illegally expand their balcony outwards or put stuff on the roof like plastic greenhouses that broke in 2 weeks leaving broken tinted plastic structurs and solar pannals on the roof
One way to transition between xisuma's base could be playing with the age of the buildings even further! It always really fascinating in a city to see the juxtaposition of buildings of different ages and styles, and I feel like a wall of homes like your base would have taken a while to build, so the style might have changed over time

I really love the theme of cohesion this season, I keep hearing this focus from everyone on how they can meld and work together in transitioning there builds with one another. It ofc has been something paid attention to in the past seasons, but I feel like it's more so this season and that's really fun and I'm so excited to see how it evolves

I’m genuinely so impressed by all of the hermits’ enthusiasm this season. Everyone is just having a blast, and I feel like that little spark of magic (or whimsy I should say) has come back full force after taking a nap for a few seasons. Don’t get me wrong, the last few seasons have been incredible, but there’s something extra special about season 11 :) thank you guys for being so awesome!

I, as somebody who does understand how computer programming works, (and someone who works as a game developer) love this idea.
Sometimes the most realistic answer is the right one, but sometimes the silly answer is the better one.
I love the idea of looking for an actual trojan horse has tickled my brain in a way that finding voulnerabilities in the code as a game mission just doesn't.

One way to transition between xisuma's base could be playing with the age of the buildings even further! It always really fascinating in a city to see the juxtaposition of buildings of different ages and styles, and I feel like a wall of homes like your base would have taken a while to build, so the style might have changed over time

I really love the theme of cohesion this season, I keep hearing this focus from everyone on how they can meld and work together in transitioning there builds with one another. It ofc has been something paid attention to in the past seasons, but I feel like it's more so this season and that's really fun and I'm so excited to see how it evolves
