This. The lack of consistency in the lineup is having an effect on players like Nylander. They can't build any kind of chemistry when the lines/pairings are in a blender every night. We're too close to playoffs to keep tinkering. Pick something and stick with it.
Keefe is over thinking everything right now. Instead of having 2 really dangerous lines he's created 4 mediocre ones. Keefe has been just as bad as the players these last few weeks.
I thought the Leafs played well for the first 15 but were a soft, sloppy mess for the remaining 45. The team has played some of their worst hockey of the season these last few weeks. In my opinion a big reason for that poor play is Keefe's line/lineup choices. Figure it out guys. Not much time until it truly matters.
Leafs remain a soft team despite the additions. The so called top 5, Matthew's, Marner, Tavares, Nylander and Reilly are as soft as they come. That was a playoff type game last night against a team that knows how to play strong and hard and with determination. That is what the leafs will face in the playoffs against Tampa. If that, last night was any indication of how they step up then Tampa will make short work of them.

Marner scores to get it to 3-2 then promptly serves up a high danger crap neutral zone pass behind Rielly & Clutterbuck toodles in on a breakaway sniping it top corner. On the 5th goal Samsonov was unlucky on the clear, that bouces off the ref to the net & couldn't corral the loose puck. One turnover after another & shot themselves in the foot....again. McCabe, Rielly, Holl & Liljgren all guilty of careless D-zone give-aways. The Islanders were more desparate & it showed. Sammy not good enough to bail them out. Flush it & move on.
