Floyd does a lot for his charities, from setting up food banks in the ghettos of Las Vagas, to providing clothing for the homeless and handing out meals. As a promoter, He's making his mark in helping every young fighter under his promotional banner. Doing things like providing them with new cars, for transportation, taking care of their essentials until they reach that big shot, Floyd is literally looking out for his fighters. The mainstream media such as TMZ, ESPN, Yahoo sports, only show his braggadocios side, his money Mayweather side, which makes him harder to like. In boxing, the fans and the community in itself values this legend.... when he came to Brooklyn the amount of people that wanted to take photos with him and talk with him was crazy, He's good guy.

It could be for lack of familiarity, or it could be beause the WBC stands for 'We Be Crooks', I'm not sure. What I am sure of, is he wanted to get away from that conversation as quickly as possible.
