Yo this happened to me to. So 3 days ago I played my first zero build ranked match cause a friend wanted to do so the we played and won with 29 kills and I got silver 3 and he got silver 2 (I am champion in builds and he is elite)
As a console player using a controller makes you feel 40 years old when building, so I prefer zb, but I just built a pc so now I’m switching back to build after 2 years 🎉
literally played a duos zero build ranked match with my buddy placed 5th and i got 17 kills while my buddy died in the beginning of the match and HE gets GOLD 2 but i got bronze 1 BRUH
i played my first zero build ranked match with my unreal friend and that game was easy i killed 2 unreal players and a renegade raider i had 11 kills he had 2 and i got silver 2
i got something similar i got like 24 kills with my duo just to get bronze 2 too that ammount of kills in arena would give way more points than rank in ranked

The first games does not matter. You would have gotten the same rank if you died of spawn.
