@@lilacfields I don't doubt it, but I also feel Balming Tiger vibe in Lost! as well, which makes sense since the creative director is the same for RPWP and BT.
I don't know if anyone has commented this yet, but the visuals Tyler created and the inspiration of his album was a children's fantasy-adventure book called, "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster. The book's main character is a boy named Milo that gets transported from his world to another that is called the Kingdom of Wisdom, which was once prosperous but is now very troubled. One character that Milo meets is Chroma the Great, a.k.a Great Chroma, who Tyler's character/persona for Chromakopia is based on and who Tyler renamed as St. Chroma for the album. Great Chroma's job in the book was to bring color to the world, for his world was once in grey-scale (that's why Tyler's visuals are in grey) and he found that his world was literally decaying all around him. The reason for this was because there was no music within Great Chroma's world - or at least, not initially. So, Great Chroma created an orchestra/instrument called The Phantom Tollbooth to bring about color and to restore life. Tyler certainly made the character his own and who kind of gives off creepy/demented vibes, especially since it seems color only happens within the video's world at either odd moments or from moments of destruction, but both St. Chroma and Great Chroma still have certain things in common, like them using an orchestra - since Tyler had features on the album as we all know, but they mostly performed as either background singers and provided a lot of sound vocals and harmonies for most of the album.

Adding 'Chromokopia' to my top albums list, right next to the iconic 'Right Place Wrong Person' album by RM! Both albums are game-changers in the rap scene!
My connection to this album is through Mr. Morale which is my favorite album. Absolutely thrilling to see an album match that introspection. Album of the year but also my personal favorite album from Tyler.
I agree that this is the most introspective Tyler has ever been but I think because of how different Tyler’s and Kendrick’s experiences through life are, that CHROMAKOPA can’t be said to match Kendrick’s introspection on MMATBS. This is not to give shade to Tyler or anything, I love this album, but I think Kendrick just goes so much deeper in his introspection than Tyler because he’s lived a life with a lot more problems that he wanted to solve whether that be internalized homophobia or his relationship with his wife. Still love the album tho, I just don’t think they can compared in the level of introspection.
@@themanwithaplan8442 Or you can say KDOT had more tracks to show his perspective of life in MMATBS than Tyler's Chromakopia cuz MMATBS = 18 Songs whereas ChromaKopia = 14 Songs
I agree with you, “matching” that introspection is very hard for any album, especially for an artist like Tyler. I just liked that specific part of this album which I think has shown his most expression as an artist. I think that this album is “Tyler” and shows his mental state right now
@@Alex_Warlock1121 That is also true but even then some of the topics that dot gets into on Mr.Morale are so personal that I can’t really see this album matching it even if it had 4 more songs but I do also think that wasn’t Tyler’s only goal for this album. Mr. Morale had one clear goal in showing Kendrick’s healing journey and it makes it obvious while Tyler clearly had this theme running throughout the whole album but he never went as personal as Kendrick did on most of the songs. Even if we take the first 14 tracks of each album, Tyler doesn’t have a We Cry Together or a Worldwide Steppers and so much more. The closest thing would probably be Father Time and Like Him. Still love the album tho, thought it was great and another hit for Tyler.

The title CHROMAKOPIA resembles the word cornucopia, possibly relating to its abundance of sounds. Music critics characterized Chromakopia as an early midlife crisis album revolving around the concerns young adults have over their newfound adulthood.
people who hate on this album dont know how to listen to a story and can’t comprehend listening to a different genre, sticky is fire and i will not tolerate the HATE🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cant lie most people hating on this are either trolls or cant comprehend anything other than loud 808s with mediocre rapping
Do you also agree the album feels like it creates a full story? Idk if it’s just me the whole concept is just too ordinary and the production was very good and a lot of the songs feel connected
@@Benius-xz5ilI think there were some great ideas and vulnerability but T is not good enough at painting pictures and articulating himself through rap but production skill is amazing
Orrrrr…..hear me out here….its not as good as his last few projects?
tyler made me sticky
45:37 and on during “Sticky” Dontai’s facial expressions were exactly mine. That smile to a smirk to stank face to screaming at all the features 😆

people wanna be so different calling this album mid, this shit was phenomenal , an experience frfr BTW DONTAI REACT TO DOECHII'S ALBUM!! BEST FEMALE RAP ALBUM OF THE YEAR DEADASSS
Nah i can get it, people expected a story
@HELLO_KORO still stupid to call it mid. Same shit that happened with Mr Morale
@@HELLO_KOROthere’s a lot of introspection on this album. Not necessarily a narrative story but there is a progressive personal story behind the album.
Its probably because some people expected it to be the album of the decade lmao
@@fgduhutg3886 i mean, It's definitely a contender, but some people are just clowns
“Like him” might be one of the most beautiful and impactful Tyler songs he’s ever created / I’ve ever heard. What an absolute gem.
